Also correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t the rules state that you need a RAW audio file as well as some way to see what buttons you’re pressing?
I LOVE that part of the rules not only because of knowing how these sounds are produced, but also to hear the trigger (delay, vocals, percussion, etc.) of the sound. For example, I call bullshit on how the osc bot can create 16 notes just from saying “aaah” but, I do appreciate the enhancement of certain sounds (Kaos’s snare in I’m The One as well as choruses).
The producer category really defines the limitless possibilities of music producing with the human voice. I’m glad that they split “producer” from the regular loop because watching Frosty vs BizKit was like watching David fighting Goliath… but watching Dice vs Chris TheOdian was like watching a ninja hunting down a rando with a revolver.

Don’t forget about KBA! My bet’s on Kaos personally. As much as I praise Antrix like god himself, Kaos does more vocally sourced sounds than Antrix. And he does dubstep :p
… but SyJo might end up being x2 champ… then we’d have the producer equivalent of Dharni lol

Same. I’m rooting for Kaos because of my taste in music, but deep down, I want Antrix to be the champ. If they end up battling because of the seeding, I’m gonna lose my mind before the battle even starts lol

KBA did touch his loop HAHAHA, it's just that he did the video like that so it could look better and fit with the whole vibe, but he sent a separate video specirically to swissbeatbox where he shows what he is doing on the loop and what he is doing to create the song, KBA usually touches his loops more than antrix most of the time you can see it even in the live showcases Antrix was actually penalized for this I think and ranked last everytime😢

Antrix was penalised because he vocally triggered presets, in other words basically he didn't beatbox to create his sounds, but triggered a channel of drums that didn't come from his mouth. The sounds were not “vocally sourced.”
I am not sure how much he vocally triggered stuff but if he vocally sourced stuff, where the sounds were produced from his mouth and had some effects from Ableton or whatever, it's fairly certain that his set wouldn't have sounded as great.

⁠@@exorbitance550well said! As I’ve said in another comment, vocally triggered vs vocally sourced was one of the biggest controversies in the beatbox community… so allow me to say my opinion:
• Osc bot is a vocally triggered sound (imo). The fact that you can just say “aah” into the mic and spit out 16 notes is truly impressive… but also controversial. Back in the MKI days, you either had to either throat tap (*cough* NME (R.I.P NME in the beatbox scene btw. He’s doing well in the cryptocurrency industry)) or sing the notes individually over a track on the loop station. Both of which take either time or skill that can be automated by the osc bot… hell, you can even out a delay under osc bot and it will do the exact same thing.
• Vocally triggered sound penalties are necessary. I’d be *PISSED* if all I had was a MKI and somebody casually pulls up with 3 extra devices (*cough* Frosty vs BizKit)
• RAW audio files are also necessary because of the osc bot scenario. If you can’t hear/understand the source of a sound, then you can literally breathe into the mic and make some nutty sounds. My and my older sibling made a joke that someone’s gonna make a track where they just fart into the mic, put a delay on it, and put a million effects over it (and idk why, but I feel like FriiDon, of all people, would do this lol)
So yeah. That’s my opinion. Feel free to praise/hate and agree/disagree
