I’ve only had my X5 for 2 1/2 months and it seems like I’m learning something new about it every day. This in particular I learned just today. Had to repair my driver side door handle and I needed to disconnect the battery and I noticed that the spare tire system wasn’t even situated correctly (previous owners probably got lazy or didn’t know) but I didn’t know until this video so I went back and corrected it and this is a very convenient system for accessing the spare tire. I really do love the convenience that my X5 provides
Had to laugh, just fitted a detachable tow hitch to my X5 and boy did I struggle getting the tyre out of the well. Should have watched this first makes it so easy. Great video.
Outstanding vid. GREAT explanation of all of the little special features of the included bits. One thing that is a curiosity, while pulling parts off of two X5s at P-N-P jy, their OE jacks were .... DIFFERENT. They had a white ‘pad’, and seemed to lever in an “arm” fashion, as opposed to a scissor.... Thoughts anyone ?
I went to a Launch event today of the latest X5 here in Australia Nov18. That brand new X5 still has a spare and a jack! I was shocked And yes it was a scissor jack. My old 3 and 5 both had the pivot jack with the arm but the bigger heavier X5 has the scissor jack.

Yes. I doubt I have known all the things that any of my BMW’s could do. I love cars that have so much thought put into them
Your videos are great for us first time X5 owners. Thank you sir.
Excellent. I love X5's I've had 3.
You should always loosen your bolts BEFORE raising the car on the jack!
My BMW totally different .x5

You're welcome!
I removed the 5 bolts but the tire won't come out...anybody knows why???
If it has been there for awhile you may need to give it a kick to break it loose.
