What you describe is a attitude and response that is not easily learned. Sometimes it happens spontaneously in situations of great distress but more often our fight or flight system kicks in and as you point out, some people automatically go in to action. But others freeze. You laugh at these people but you are wrong that it is an 'overthinking' situation. Several factors influence this. The first is simply about the hardwiring of our brain from our genetics. Another factor is that if a child has been exposed to persistent trauma, the fight or flight system gives way to 'freeze' or paralysis because the child has learned that there is no way out. He or she goes offline until the danger is past even if more trauma is happening to the body. Think of the mouse caught by a cat. It appears dead. It's not 'playing' dead! Its sympathetic nervous system has turned off all but the very basic of functioning. When there is no movement, the cat loses interest and wanders off. Soon the mouse gives itself a shake and off it runs, unharmed. With a human being, this learned helplessness persists into adulthood even in situations that they actually could affect. So please don't make fun of them. Whether it is genetic or trauma, it is not in the person's control without a great deal of effort to correct the situation. This effort is sometimes called 'therapy'. And while the attitude you outline is the goal, you make it sound very easy. Perhaps it is for some people. But for most of us it is a long process of practice. It starts out as an idea - you say it and we say 'yeah, that makes sense'. At this point the state you describe is just a thought in our head (head knowledge). But we have no experiential knowledge to anchor it to. How do you get that? As you've covered at other times, regular meditation, over time, is a powerful tool to help achieve this. But in the moment that we encounter something difficult, when we are flooded with physical feelings and emotions, most of us don't have an 'ah ha' moment of great serenity. What we need are concrete, body centered tools to help us process the emotions. As a mental health therapist, I've done a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with clients over the years. While very helpful in many ways, it doesn't stand up to the fight or flight flood that occurs when we get triggered. What we need in that moment is a way to 'look at' the feelings, allowing them to rage through while at the same time, being the observer. There are a number of these kinds of techniques. My favorite is Emotional Freedom Technique (also called Tapping) because anyone can do it without a therapist. A couple others are EMDR and Brainspotting. Certain kinds of journaling are very powerful for some people as well. Instead of resisting the emotions, these tools allow us to ride with them and find their deeper connections within us. In doing so, we release them in a way that severs the link between the emotions and their origin. The originating situation loses much of it's emotional charge and things that once regularly triggered us, no longer have that power. When we have cleared out a lot of the emotional baggage from our past, it is a lot easier to experience that peaceful state in the face of difficulties. I remember one time there was something occurring in my life that left me feeling powerless and helpless. I decided to use Tapping to vent the feelings and I thought that when the feelings were processed, I would feel really strong and powerful. But to my surprise, after a few minutes of Tapping, I felt the uncomfortable feelings melt away and what I was actually left with a lovely sense of peace and calm. Thank you, Eckhart Tolle, for pointing us in the right direction. And please be patient with those of us who have not yet fully transformed 'head knowledge' into 'heart knowledge' , where it becomes our automatic response.

Why does he comment so flippantly about someone standing in front of a train and does not get out of its way? He laughed at someone getting hit by the train because their thoughts slowed down, I'm assuming if someone stands in front of a train, it's for an obvious reason!
Let me break this down as I see it , logically. Since your lineage inception, your Formed source within has survived and evolved and brought your lineage thus far. Now that is not a trick. No challenge great or small is a problem and you dont have to do thing, after all, how do think your lineage has come thus far, definitely not from so called teachers and guru beliefs and definitely not from sufism, they were not around at your inception. Your lineage Formed source required it's ego tool to send and receive messages of awareness to rectify simply for your Formed source survival and evolve it's host, your biological being. Quote; " who you truly are beyong FORM" is easily said but never explained by the self proclaimed teacher and guru's alike and that is because they dont have a clue and expect the unsuspecting to just believe. You your lineage inception was initially FORMED ( elements) not BORN ( biological) and both are in a symbiotic relationship. Your Formed source has already manifested from the elements of the universe and transcended. You are already imprinted with knowledge since your lineage inception. Operating in CALM mode is not your FORMED source FORTE' and REALITY could not care less what state of consciousness you are in.
@@khalidshah5048 I'm not talking about the anger. Even if Eckhart wasn't there, the anger would anyway subside one day. Some anger won't. I'll take your tip there. @@sudhakar7889I feel like you think “acceptance” means the eradication of the problem. It doesn’t. Acceptance of a problem will never get rid of it, but it can get rid of your unhealthy reactions and attention you feed it, that make you an enemy of yourself. We are not meaningless, and our problems do not and have never secured a victory over us. We are far stronger than we realize; and just as there have been emergency situations that have left humans in awe of the physicality they’ve just expressed, so too are there moments where life has left us in awe of just how mentally strong we can be when we just put forth willingness to see the so-called problem differently.
That peace we feel when we realize nothing "we've lost" defines us. Beautiful as always!

You just do what needs to be done and you keep on doing it. If you want to cry, CRY!! if you want to scream, SCREAM!! but the key is to keep going and do what needs to be done without even thinking about how bad it is.
If it helps, think about how far you have come!
Telling people to stop thinking for a while? That's a controversial idea right there Eckhart. ;) (Edit: This is just a joke, in case that wasn't obvious with my wink.)
He’s saying stop compulsive thinking. Thinking is great. The world wouldn’t be what it is without it. But compulsive thinking is the result of every error in this world.
The fact that you have chosen to spell Eckharts name incorrectly says everything your comment has to say. Pleasing to your ego but of no benefit to anyone, not even yourself 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@johngreen4683 I have NO idea what you're talking about. I was making a joke. Eckhart is awesome and it was a typo. You guys need to lighten up. It's all good.
@@mitsuha4788 I wasn't being serious, but thanks for at least being responsive. :) And I completely agree!
Pain or ignorance thats the difficulty
The ads are so intrusive to the message. Is there any possibility of moving to Patron?

I think people who don't pay for prime should net be allowed to complain about the channels advertising. I don't see any ads. I pay a small amount for my knowledge and don't think I'm privileged. What a tough life dude.

Should we stay calm when our govt funds crimes against humanity and gcde? It is time to take action.
I feel the same. I also feel that accepting the true horror, multifaceted layers, and disillusionment calmly (after, maybe, screaming, crying, stomping, arguing with yourself, feeling it deeply, and finally letting it go) will be the way to true impactful action.
What government? there are so many doing this…we must do our best to work for peace
Peacefully take action, not from a place of anger.
Always take the appropriate action from a place of Wisdom and Compassion.🙏

" makes you more conscious" ... but then what?
No it doesn't. Accepting doesn't make any difference.
You don't have to live with your anger...just let it go, or it will damage you
@@khalidshah5048 I'm not talking about the anger. Even if Eckhart wasn't there, the anger would anyway subside one day. Some anger won't. I'll take your tip there.
But people have innate problems which don't have solutions other than taking extreme steps which make us cease to exist or live a dead life. That's what I'm talking about.
Acceptance doesn't mean giving up, it simply means accepting what is right now and trusting it will not always be as it is right now 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@johngreen4683 okay. Makes sense.

Such a nonsense. This man is mentally unwell. Just listen to him.
