Thank you very much for sharing the Stegra code Mattias! Immediately subscribed to the 6-months version as the trial period had ended, and the software has proven to be amazing here in the Netherlands. Disclaimer, only curved road option used so far, off-road will follow soon!
Thanks for the feedback my friend. I'm really happy that You used the discount. There are only a few available spots on this discount. (It's a really great opportunity and unique discount offered). Happy Trails out there!
I’ve got last year’s predecessor to this device, and find it very user friendly and practical for controlling Spotify playlists and seeing who calls my cell etc. My main gripe with this device is the added cellphone battery drain, which prevents my iPhone from working full riding days on my multi day rides. Reason: It employs both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I therefore always keep a power bank ready to top the cellular up on long riding days. Just my two cents tip ;-)
Hallo Mattias. Keep up the good work. Hilsen Jarle Aker👍😊
I do not know, but I do not think so. Very few apps that work and the team behind DMD or like Stegra etc. Does not prioritize this. Stegra.io have thought about it though and might go for it. Pending if more bike manufacturers include carplay and androidauto onbthier bike display in the future.
Interesting and bright kit, Mattias. But I'd prefer and stand alone mobile phone with a large battery and an app of my choice. One device instead of two. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
@@Braapncamp Just back from Lombardia/Italy on a Beta Alp 200. Will tackle TET France Section 13 in summer, Lombardia again, Friuli/Italia in Oktober and ACT/TET Portugal in winter maybe. And your plans, Mattias?
Tuff!
I have Android auto in my cars and I would not use it for my motorcycle as none of my mapping tools is made for Android auto. You are much better off using a rugged android phone on the handlebar instead as it handles all apps. I also have JaxeADV buttons and they connect with BT to the phone. Great for managing apps, music and so on.
Thats a great set up, was very interesting to see what could be done with Android Auto. Not tried remote buttons yet, the car version have remote control Buttons forcthf steering wheel as option, so it might work for this one too. Agree on limited amount of compatible apps so far.
Haha, no not from this ride! ...but from other rides, especially earlier this year 😂✊🏻✊🏻. Now the vacation period is over and there will be more ADV ☝️😁. Happy Trails!
Thank you for the review. Looks like it could replace the X1 and X2 completely. I have the X1 and it gives me the shits sometimes so I don’t trust the routes. Invariably I resort back to apps on my phone.
Thanks! I see it as a better option than having a second smartphone on the bike. Your personal smartphone should be on You and not on the bike. I would like to see some more compatible apps in close future. But this device surprised me with how fast it operates. Very plugg and play also.
Always fun to test stuff 😁, for those who are into using their phone or a second phone as navigator or media device, this is a nice and probably better set up.
Have You contacted Thork to see if the have plans to make DMD2 compatible in future? I hade a chat with my friends at Stegra.io and they are looking at it at least. I knew that this would not work right now and I never thought that a device like this is for "hardcore ADV/roadbook" etc. But it works for some that occasionally ride TET or do own TET like gpx routes in Stegra and run on Gaia, and rest of the time navigates with Google maps on more travel like situations. I know for sure what I need 👀😁, but it is fun to test stuff.

Thanks for setting off my "G" word right off the rip! Lol! Good vid!
😂 pretty disturbing...
Thanks Mattias. That’s a very interesting piece of kit. Certainly worth having a look at.
Thanks, i'm very interested in how app compability develops in close future.

Thats a great tips, noticed this as well as others. As you say it is user friendly for basic functions.

Tackar!
Does it work with the dmd2 app for samsung phones?

Hei! Takk for denne. Artig sak.

Thats a smooth set up, but for safety it's good to have Your main smartphone on Your body. 😁👍
@@Braapncamp Yes, I do, Mattias.
Any cool plans for this summer Günter?

Might go to the Maxlride! Ride via TET PL and CZ.

After this ride you need a new set of camshafts 😛

Ahh, toppen tips. Bra info!
hi ,
i like the garmin, don't think the use of something like that is not necessary for normal use.
but i still like your videos 😅
Always fun to test stuff 😁, for those who are into using their phone or a second phone as navigator or media device, this is a nice and probably better set up.
Garmin has no ideea how to do routing.
It is way to expensive for what it provides.
yeah that's true to.
I have purchased a W702 I am very disappointed that I can't use DMD2 on it. As I use it for tracks
