What a great Character! 👍 I worked on Zardoz...and Excalibur when I was in my mid teens, My Dad had a Marquee Company and we did all of the location work in Ireland..I remember seeing Charlie on Set in Excalibur..he was a Young Mordred..I'd say maybe 10 years Old. WOW!! Great to see you did well Charlie 👏 ☘️🕶🇮🇪🇨🇦
My boyfriend and I ride Harley so someone recommended Long Way Up so we watched that one first. Now we are watching the first 2. So amazing and entertaining. Plus, while Ewan as Obiwan is cool, my very favorite movie of all times is Excalibur, so I was excited to learn Charlie was in that movie. Charlie is an inspiration to us all.
He is a lovely guy. Ten years as a painter and decorator after an exciting upbringing must have been hellish. He loves bikes so top chap and extremely interesting.
The “hobbling” thing is no joke. Been riding for 16 years, and since I started ADV riding, I’ve broken 4 ribs, crushed an ankle, gotten a hope replacement, and am hobbling because my other hip is telling me I need another one…and I’m only 44!
Anyone who has met Charley knows he’s a lovely guy! Super interview! (There is a lot of negative stuff around… some people are pretty sick.. just jealous I guess)
I know what you mean bit like Elvis understudy interviewing (hero of old interviews more recent interesting person). All banter I guess but it's a bit clumsy in places by interviewer. Ego / class war perhaps?
Thanks for this. Really enjoy hearing Charley Stories, even the blood, sweat and tears ! The price for adventure ! Live ! Cheers from Australia !

1:03:15 Sorry to hear about Charley's father John Boorman suffering from old age - his "Hope and Glory" is still one of my all-time favourite films.

Maybe you need a fookin' brain transplant.
@@fredforsythe8310 Maybe. Or maybe I just don’t ride like a pussy when I’m off-road. Maybe you could try growing a pair.
@@ryanmalone2681 No thanks seems balls drain brains. But being brain dead has its advantages it relieves you of having to think.
@@fredforsythe8310 That’s because you don’t have any. Trust me, both are possible In fact, both is pretty normal.
I hope you're going to interview Lizbeth Beard soon.
Dawn to dusk wales 🏴 2005 I think, I rode and CB can definitely ride 🍀🙏👍
I remember range anxiety when there were not many diesel pumps at garages so you had to plan your route where you could fill up.
Keep it Rubber side down Charlie… A brilliant chat cheers
He’s lucky enough to have a beautiful wife and daughters ! What a fabulous life he has 👍 Best wishes Charley.

Awkward interview. Charlie takes over because all he can take in is himself
Steve Parish, the rudest man ever to mount a motorbike, nothing good to say about anyone.
"I was Barry Sheene's best mate" - he should have that on his headstone. Soon.
Hm hmm lol Hm hmmmmm
