The end of her is to help 17 to hack into honkai and she willingly did so. And that also what the sim Möbius said why HoT is her most important result. In fact most powerful FCs like Kevin, Elysia, Aponia, Eden,Vill-V, Kalpas, Mobious seems all just don’t care about their own death as long as it delivers. Or let us say they all have self destruct tendency.

Mobius only did experiments on voluntary patients, using herself first in most cases. Also the cascade started with Kosma, which mobius tried to replicate. The mantis all had partial before.
I have a question: the Ark plan, originally it was planned just to keep Kosma in orbit, because because of his beast he could not exist normally on earth, and only after his replacement by grisio was the plan changed to interstellar travel? I just remember in the same chapter it was said that their technology was not enough to build a ship for departure beyond the solar system, I definitely remember something like that, I would really like an explanation on this topic
I know I am a year late but ignoring that- answering your question no, The plan was always interstellar travel, the actual plan of Project Ark was for the PE to find a world/planet habitable for humanity to live in (to which we know is unsuccessful bc Griseo didn't go far bc of the Honkai barrier around the Solar System) Kosma was the first candidate bc he was best suited for it due to his Honkai Beast nature (consuming other Honkai Beast and gaining their abilities to grow stronger yet risk loosing himself-) bc of these facts the MOTHs plan for Ark was to have Kosma take it since he was the perfect candidate, it soon got changed for unknown reasons or reasons I don't remember- likely bc they remembered Griseo was also a MANTIS and to save her from the destruction and deaths they switched bc although lonely Griseo with her powers can also sustain herself and survive should she take the mission (to which we know, although failed, she did survive to the CE along with Hua, Su and Kevin) Kosma on the other hand switched with her so he can partake in the battle on the moon since we know he has a lot of fighting experience and he's naturally strong (which Kalpas and Kevin respectively praised him for and many statements regarding how close he is to them in terms of combat, and in a dialogue/data info he was already in the MOTH since 4th Honkai Eruption so although young he does have many experience)
