this is a perfect showcase of cascading problems, how something so small in the early game can cause such a huge problem later on. If Crackedy covered his first pit mine with a Outpost instead of using 100 wood on that wall, it would have been able to keep off the dark age spears long enough for crackedy to get to feudal faster without having to invest so heavily into donzo's. Once he hits feudal, then build the walls that he did, because that early in the game, there aren't to many fast units that is going to outmanuver around your base, nor are the unit mass that great that you have worry to much getting vills sniped. Feudal age is different once the knights/keshiks starts appearing and can quickly snipe a vill or two, and thats when the walls will start having adding value to the cost.
yeah rank is irrelevant. the lower rank guy was obviously a better player, but has he had the same number of matches in the same amount of time? could be newer on the scene, up and coming.
He didn't pressure when he had the military lead and had his military idle in base, then threw away most of his army upon hitting Castle before upgrades, and yet he still won. Mongols are just completely broken right now, this matchup is pretty much unwinnable for Malians unless there's a huge skill gap.
@@Skilliard Bro If anything the malian had more idle time and neglected a response with units for longest at the start. The malian made more mistakes, i agree the matchup is more favorable to mogols but they are not really broke, still lose more matchups than any other Civ Just like before keshig

You can just make an early tower or use the defensive Landmark. This could stop this mess from the beginning. Especially on this map where u cant eacape to back golds. I use to cut extra wood and make a tower against mongol
crackedy messed up early on I think (just a diamond player tho lol) I love playing Malians and whenever I go against Mongols I KNOW they are going to Tower Rush my gold pit/vein. The times I go against Mongols as Mali I build just 2 houses, then save the wood for a barracks and make 4 donsos. STOPS the tower rush every single time and kills the mongol vil. The walls and 6 houses was too greedy.
When i play vs mongol as malian, mongol just go early pasture. It does depend on their stone location. But dark age aggression on malian is a fool’s errand
@chrisbeer arrowslits require 50 wood for mining camp on stone and vils to mine it. Every vil in the first couple mins of the game is vital and sending even just one to get stone takes a away food/wood/gold. Also a good mongol player would move to tower another resource, like woodline

the devs certainly did seem to design the mongols to be as unfun to play against as possible. sure they're very beatable, but their tactics feel so scummy.
Its been 5 months but whatever. I think the design is stellar, this feels so much like the real mongols, they're being annoying left and right until you crack under pressure and they put the final nail in the coffin. I absolutely understand to frustration from the other side, but this is so on point I can't help but to love it
The AoE4 Mongols behave almost exactly like the real Mongols. A pain for all who had to deal with them

why not just arrowslit tower the area instead? way cheaper than a barracks with donso's added
