Thanks you so much this Vedic. I watched it many times and each time I made some progress on playing. It's a beautiful piece and you played so gracefully.
Your videos are fantastic and excellent for an instruction perspective. My 6 year old has really enjoyed watching and learning from you. Thanks from New York City.
The first time I tried to play this piece without the musical notes it seemed it was so easy. After I watched this video, I realized that I was playing most of the parts with the same stroke powers. Now I play it with the correct strokes; soft and strong. Thanks.(Sorry for my bad English)
thank you for this video. i'm learning this piece and will benefit from your advices. (from Suzuki book piano vol 2. do you plan on doing a video for the entire book? maybe you did not do the video based on this book)
I'm glad you feel this tutorial will help you study Short Story. I have videoed tutorials on all pieces in Suzuki books 1, 2 and 3. For ease of access, see the Tutorials page of my website, www.jennymacmillan.co.uk. My website has plenty of other Suzuki materials on it, such as articles about the Suzuki approach, and audio recordings of most of the repertoire.
hello again, i'm having a between bar 12 and 13. it's like i cannot be on time with my right hand and left hand that needs to go for a leap to a lower G on the keyboard. any hint to work this issue? unless i slow down at this specific moment, i don't see how to do it.
Practise LH alone, looking at the low G while playing the last 3 or 4 notes at the end of bar 11. Practise jumping 3 1/2 8ves (down an 8ve lower), then 4 1/2 8ves (starting an 8ve higher), then 2 1/2 8ves doesn't seem such a distance. Practise RH alone at end of bar 12 and into bar 13, listening for clear, well co-ordinated 3rds. Play RH 2 quavers at end of bar 12 and play 1st beat bar 13 HT (so LH is already in position on low G before you start playing RH). VERY slowly play HT last 2 quavers of bar 12 plus 1st beat bar 13 (so slowly that the 1st beat of bar 13 is in time, not delayed). Gradually speed up (over a period of many practices over many days). Eventually you will be able to play it up to speed with no hesitation over the bar line.
Jenny Macmillan sorry for my very late reply. i'll apply your advice! thank you. (in fact this is really true :) : "Practise jumping 3 1/2 8ves (down an 8ve lower), then 4 1/2 8ves (starting an 8ve higher), then 2 1/2 8ves doesn't seem such a distance."
I did it but it was very hard and thank you 😊
