Why another country should do something for Lebanon? They dont have power.
@Beatrice Martins The French only indirectly ruled Lebanon through the League of Nations Mandate. It was beneficial to Lebanon and Syria over Ottoman rule. France then gave Lebanon independence as soon as they asked for it. Different story in other French colonies of course.
The cargo was stored at a warehouse in September 2013. Port Officials sent direct letters to the Government to move the cargo, but all six letters were ignored. It was a clear failure of the Government and its bureaucracy.

@Jerry O Sullivan It is Lunch now, they eating croissants.
yellow vest protest has turned into a stupid movement that none of the French support, regardless of peoples' opinion about the government. Those guys just made friends with each other by grouping every Saturday, so they keep the movement doing to meet with their new friends; that's pretty much the feeling that they give out. Whenever they do that some peoples that just want to break things will use the opportunity to join and break stuff which makes chaos from time to time (this calmed down due to covid 19's forced isolation), but that's about it. They didn't obtain a thing in more than one year of protest by the time quarantine hit France, they're pretty much a massive joke at this point. Not only are they completely ignored by the government, but their protest usually will cause trouble/annoyance for the innocent locals who simply dislike them more and more for being in the way and breaking stuff; without it resulting in anything positive.
@Jerry O Sullivan i 'm french too. At the beginning it were the french poeple in retirment and poor workers. They were right to protest because they were afraid with macron's reforms. macron has given 10 billions euros for them and stopped the new taxs on fuel.
Macron just continue the economic politic of "offer" of our last president Hollande during 2012 - 2017 . This politic lowers the taxs for the enterprises or cut the taxs for the french scientific research / invesment. We had 10 % jobless in 2016 and 7.5 % in 2020 before the virus. This politic of "offer" works on the middle term after 5 or 10 years. It beginns to work well in france exepted with this covid virus ...
@Jerry O Sullivan I have seen the last demonstrations of the yellow vests in my region. It were full of youngs poeple extrem left/right , antifa , rioters pro , black blocs , a lot of youngs drunk playing with the police or trying to break shops windows to steal inside !
This movement can continue but with extremists young poeple but not the first poor workers. It's full of poeple very politised , they hate macron because he was a banker.
@Jerry O Sullivan They're doing their best so that we don't forget them but the movement has lost all credibility. No one from the government will listen and rightfully so, as they don't represent any kind of majority in the country, just a bunch of idiots enjoying each other's company while breaking or burning stuff. Besides, due to covid they can't even do that anymore.
