maybe use a magnet and release a hopbag without opening the valve at all

I tried another way of dry hopping carbonated beer in the FKJ. The fermentation finished att 30 PSI at 21c (no pressure during primary fermentation though). I cooled it down to 0c, tossed in the dry hops (loose pellets) and closed the fermenter. No foaming at all. The pellets floated on the surface. Then I put back the same pressure as before I opened the lid. Warmed the beer back up to 15c and let it sit for 2 days. Then crashed it down to 0c again to let the hops drop out. Have you tried that?

Once you've released all the pressure do you unscrew the lid completely then put your hop pellets/ cones in? Then rescrew on and put CO2 in to get back up to 17 psi?

    1. Is it possible to harvest the yeast?
    2. Can the yeast stay inside for 1-2month while drinking from it? Maybe a stupid question, I guess best thing is to have 2 and serve from the one without hops and yeast.
Thank you for your time, Im new to this.

You could harvest the yeast if you were making a beer that didnt require dry hopping but if you add hops to the fermenter there are going to settle into the yeast. You could serve from the tank on the yeast, autolisys is no likely to happen that quickly so its not as big a problem for homebrewers as people often think. But if you dry hop you definately want to get the beer off the dry hops or you will start to get grassy flaours from the hops

    Hi. Nice video
In which moment do you dry hop normally?

I think it's best to remove the yeast before dry-hopping, I guess you would need to buy another fermenter to transfer to.

I do the opposite. I pull the release valve and dump it to zero as fast as possible, wait 10 minutes then dump it again and open top. I don't touch the spunding valve.

I just ordered two FKjr’s and a C02 setup. How long are you fermenting for? I’d been told you could essentially have beer ready to pour in a week but I’m keen to know whether the flavour would be as good. Cheers.

whats the realistic volume you can ferment in these? headspace always seems like an issue maybe? would you have prefered to get the all rounder?

Realistically 18L max but maybe a bit more if you wont be dry hopping. If you're concerned get the all rounder! But for me i just want to make smaller batches and use them as serving tanks as well so they suit me but they're not for everyone. I still use my 30L gravity fermenter along side these for when i want a bit more beer
