Amazing chase compilation! I remember seeing these locos at Worcester when I used to travel by train as a child. They looked odd compared to the 6Es on our train, but now im more informed about them.
Hi Fanie, a BIG LIKE on this one! Excellent compilation of the chase, love the shunting, amazing telephoto zoom action following the train going/coming on its way - all from a a very steady camera base! These Class 33's were such willing beasts!
Also enjoyed this one. Looks like a transnamib train with both locos facing forward. I'm amazed how fast these 33's can go with such a load up some of these steep gradients.
the 33s was fairly prominent in King Williams Twn in early 80s. was quite a sight and sound of them passing on the tri span bridge over the Buffalo river. Their distinct horn sound was the que for me to dash to the gate and watch them pass, also a regular steam loco going past. at that stage i was not aware of the steam loco classes
