    Interestingly it looks like there are still enough air molecules inside the bottle to raise the arc when they are heated. At least that's how I would explain the arc being so... arched ;-)

  • @Z-Ack

    Isnt it basically a uv lightbulb? All youd need to do is coat the inside of the glass with phosphorus to make it glow white and could leave the electrodes short if you just put some mercury inside before you pull the. Vacuum and would vaporize enough of it to sustain the arc over longer distances with much lower voltage if a starter was used to build the initial voltage.. but what fun is a friggn fluorescent light bulb when you can have a plasma arc inside a bottle…. Id be tempted to introduce various noble gasses to make neon lights…. Plus an oscillating voltage with noble gasses would make a cool colored neon wavy arc.. just a thought….

    Did you have an issue with insulation breakdown or problems preventing the high voltage from jumping out of the wire? I saw you got shocked by the wire when you were first running your hand along the glass bottle and got too close to the wires run along the base.
    So i was mainly curious if you had to use special high voltage wire like for neon signs or the high voltage wires from microwave transformers?

    This is just way too cool to me... might be a goofy question, but before one would attempt this, how would you safely avoid making X-rays? If I were to make my own, I would obviously read some more about cathode ray tubes to avoid turbo cooking myself on accident by building the wrong kind of tube lol.

    • @andresaofelipe
      @andresaofelipe 7 місяців тому

      Making x-rays without thermionic emission is significantly harder. Even if he made x-rays, they were few. Also, even if you do make x-rays, you gotta really try hard to mess yourself up, small doses are not really any danger

    • @WariceHimSelf
      @WariceHimSelf 4 місяці тому

      It’s likely some X-rays were produced due to the high voltage (30kv), but based on the look of the plasma, the pressure is much to high for X-rays to be significant. If you attempt this, it is recommended that you get an actual HVAC pump, and use a smaller current limited transformer, such as a neon sign transformer or oil burner ignition transformer. X-rays are negligible under 10kv, so be careful not to go over that limit. And of course, be careful when working with glass under vacuum as it’s likely to shatter, as well as high voltage, as a simple mistake could be lethal

    Hello, Can you make antigravity flying craft with magnetic field powered by 30 000 VOLTS? It should ionize AIR to air with negative charge (anionts) around magneting field, which will then be pushed away and it will make VACUUM around field... then your ship can move without air resistance

    • @HyperspacePirate
      @HyperspacePirate Рік тому +2

      You can make a flying vehicle with high voltage, but it's not canceling gravity or anything like that. It's just pushing lots of air from corona discharge which generates thrust

    • @DavidMalcharek
      @DavidMalcharek Рік тому

      @@HyperspacePirate well we can still use that field for pushing up magnet, now its not that bad, but yeah, it should be better to sort out ELEMENT 115 stabillity, then I think it will be game changer, if aliens are using it, we can maybe learn that too in the future. • @Z-Ack
      @Z-Ack Рік тому

      I dont understand either explanation here.. both are done under a vacuum, both are plasma…. You cant nake an anode ray tube because the plasma would be shooting from cathode to whatever the anode was. A crt is just a carhode ray gun projecting the plasma arc into another vacuum glass chamber with phosphor statically coatd on the glass making a tv. The arc is just modulated and skewed with a vertical and horizontal magnetic coil and transmission is done with signal amplification and stuff.. so what were either of you attempting to imply with your comments? you both lack basic fundamental knowledge on this subject youve introjected into. One could argue its not electticity, its just charged particles with different potential energies moving through a particular path of least resistance to exchange electrons….
