That poor girl in the second clip. Broken bones hurt like hell and accidents like that are scary. I’m glad someone was with her to help her keep her calm because I’d definitely not want to be alone in that situation.
1:11 My girlfriend got her motorcycle license to ride with me and even though I’m so proud of her and won’t ever tell her what is good or not for her this situation scares the hell out of me. Ride safe guys
Came off 3 weeks ago and have the exact same break as the woman in the 2nd clip. I really feel for her. It’s a tough recovery, but we’ll both get there.
Sad to see such a serious injury result from a relatively low speed and completely avoidable accident. Good luck with recovery. Maybe retake the MSF course or stay off bikes.
@@oldcowbb My fiancé passed the MSF course, got her license, and proceeded to break her collar bone while practicing in a parking lot.. at 0mph. Some ppl just aren't meant to ride
@@oldcowbbas an MSF coach myself, I actually haven’t seen this a lot. Almost everyone there wants to be there. Some definitely need another pass through the course to get their skills up to snuff to survive the streets.
I feel bad for the Learner, she seems like she was still very new, probably only recently done her CBT (Think 1-Day MSF that needs to be renewed every two years and means your restricted to 125cc bikes), that's a very nasty crash. Mentoring a new rider is always tough; do you go ahead to play pathfinder so they can focus on getting comfortable with the process of controlling the bike, or go behind and play "rear-gunner" to make sure traffic can't get too close and let them establish their own pace? Someone that new, I'd probably go in front and just have coms to let them say if I'm going to quick and over time let them take the lead. Great work by the guy she was with; he got her calm very quickly, despite obviously being full of adrenaline. Also very decisive when instructing the by-stander to call an ambulance. I hope she recovered quickly.
Poor girl. Total newbie panic situation. Probably would have been a good idea to get more "parking lot" practice and get comfortable leaning the bike over before going out on the road.
@@LiamE69 She target fixated, people with some experience on the road still sometimes make this mistake and forget to turn. It happens, she's probably had some parking lot and real road practice it's fine.

I can attest that even a stiff motocross boot cannot prevent a broken ankle. It will help mitigate damage though and isn't going to easily come off your foot.
As an MSF RiderCoach, this was painful to watch. Poor thing 🥺. Ngl, this made me tear up a little for her. She is such a gentle sweet soul that she APOLOGIZED for crashing while having a mangled leg and other likely contusions. Her riding buddy handled the situation like a pro. I’ve had a similar situation but it was a broken arm, rather than leg, and it didn’t involve another vehicle. It’s a LOT worse to listen to a loved one crash in your comms system. Hearing their pain in your ear makes it a tougher situation. In my case, she sat up and tried to stand but I could tell her balance was rocked. Made her sit and began my assessment while all she could do was worry about her bike in the ditch. I asked her to wiggle her toes and if she felt them, she could. Asked her to wiggle her fingers and only her left hand moved…she said “huh, I can’t move my right fingers…” and I said “okay, let’s get the glove off. Im going to be gentle and go slow. Got the glove off and saw no obvious hand damage. Took off the other glove, then gently removed her cheek pads and removed her helmet, then got her jacket off around the numb hand. As soon as the jacket came off, the lump on her radius made it an obvious break. I wrapped it to brace it and we made our way to a safe place with some friends while I rode home to get the truck and trailer to get both her and the bike home, then went to the ER to confirm.
@LK-dn2ms probably a combination of a little too much speed. It was only a 25 mph corner. In experience on my bike, only riding for 10 months. Possibly debris on the road - I don't remember - but it's a back road with farms. It's a road I know well, I've ridden it at least 10 times and driven it hundreds. How my leg broke I ran wide into a barrier and my leg was trapped between the barrier and bike. I flew off but my leg didn't. Similar to the young girl's injury in the video but mine is 1 inch below my knee.
Have to share, first incident in a long time, slow speed low-side. Bought an old Suzuki Marauder GZ250 for my wife to learn on, still fixing it, haven't got a battery for it yet, was doing a U turn in the street, and it stalled half way through, skinned knee :( Laammmmeee
5:59 I almost did that when I was learning my ruckus towards the beginning, but managed to save… So, I made a video of curse, I’m getting better & always learning! ✌️ I hope she makes a full recovery & is doing good, that’s scary!❤
I broke my ankle once. It wasn’t anywhere near this bad though. The adrenaline kicked in and I didn’t feel much pain, but I could feel and hear weird clicking sounds when I walked. But an hour later …. boy that was painful.

Dan, you clearly haven't met my gf. If I tell her to look through the turn that many times I'll never hear the end of her shrieking. Patriarchy, controlling toxic masculinity and all that! Just kidding. Notice though how little use is a motorcycle shoe in a crash. Wear full boots with torsion protection people! Motorcycle fashion is for newbies. Be protected.
Many of the fools on your videos are injury and casualty statistics because they ride like they have “the right of way,” If a street rider wants to live, they need to ride on streets passively, not aggressively. I expect everyone may pull out in front of me, turn without signaling, or do something else stupid because they’re in a cage and have bumpers, metal and plastic around them. Don’t ride on the streets if you can’t stay calm and avoid drivers driving poorly or texting. You’ll end up dead! The odds are against you…..
I think that at times you have to be aggressive. Use the bike's power to get away from weird moving vehicles, but it's about picking your spots for sure.

My friend told me about air vested to protect neck and back I am been saving up the money for it! Mr Dan
great idea the Air bags for motocyclists are. MotoGP have been using them for a few years now
