Not sure if you’re talking about the video of the driver who stuck his entire body out of the window flicking off a police officer while driving and got pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt and then tried to fight the officer. But it kind of seems like your comment is missing a lot of context.
Here in the UK warning people of cops with a signal is technically illegal, for individuals it's unlikely you'll be charged, but the AA organisation got told they couldn't do it, so what they did was use a loophole, AA members would get saluted by AA mechanics and road patrols, but when they knew the police were ahead the AA would simply not salute, they couldn't technically be charged for not signalling, so they didn't get in trouble for it.
While you are allowed to curse at police they are also allowed to arrest you as long as you get a fair trial also in many states police are not required to study the law before getting a job
Police need not knowledge of the law in order to enforce their version of it. What a country to live in. Too bad there aren't pre existing yet ignored regulations, easily passed laws, or civilian oversight commities that haven't been declawed to help with the problem.
just posting blatantly false information huh? First of all, the police are NOT allowed to just arrest you for anything as long as you get a fair trial. Otherwise an “unlawful arrest” wouldnt exist, yet it clearly does and normal citizen’s tax dollars pay towards the settlement/restitution when an unlawful arrest occurs and is challenged in court. Not to mention, its literally a violation of civil rights to be arrested without a proper reason. Second, in EVERY state in the US, a police officer does not have to know the laws that they enforce. Their training is a laughable 3-5 months in most places, and theres no possible way to learn all the laws in that time frame, especially when you realize that the academy is training them on firearms use, department regulations and rules, etc…and not the actual laws. Theres a reason law school takes 6-8 years to become a lawyer, because it takes THAT LONG to properly learn all of the laws!
@@kyuuketsukou Yesn't... it's not explicitly prohibited, but it's also not explicitly _allowed,_ either. And cops can pull you over for ANYTHING, or for literally nothing at all (hi there Washington State Patrol insisting it's "my turn to compulsorarily donate to the donut fund")...

it's not illegial but there's no reason to do it, it will only make your situation worse and pretty much gaurntees if you did something illegial you aren't getting off with just a warning.
@redTanto ??? There is literaly no individual benefit to disrespecting or swearing at cops, it can only make your situation worse. This has nothing to do with freedom vs saftey lmao.
@@clickbait3753 The benefit to me and most people is letting a cop (likely one you know) know what ya think of em. It shouldn't involve them abusing their authority (as in deprivation of rights under color of law or just straight making shit up) or getting violent. This is exactly trading freedom for safety.
@redTanto it isn't that deep dawg. If a police officer has done nothing to disrespect me, I'm not going to disrespect them for no reason. Same way I would treat any other human being. Also just from an objective perspective why would i increase my chances of getting a ticket by being unecessarily disrespectful, it makes no logical sense. The "argument" you're making isn't what you think it is.
I was in North Wildwood, NJ with my mom. We went to the beach when it was light, then hit some mini golf when it got darker. There was a group of at least 4 older teens a hole or too ahead of us. When we were almost finished, I watched them all celebrate to their truck, hop in the truck bed, and peel out of there. We soon finished the course and got in our car to drive to our hotel. We passed them on the side of the road pulled over by a cop
Good to know this- I was a long haul truck driver and it was never clear whether or not the quick split-second flashing of the high beams to warn other truckers coming the opposite direction that there was a Smokey up ahead, altho I now know doing this was only against company policy, not the law!
I've seen way too many people pulled over for just simply giving the cops to finger. If a cop pulls you over for just that alone. He should be charged with illegal detainment.
Yeah none of these things are de facto legal. In practice, the law is decided by police in the liminal space of the discretionary powers granted them and the willingness of the state/public to defer to their judgment/shield them from consequences.
In some places, flashing high beams to warn of cops is illegal. But in others, it's perfectly fine. It really depends on the location and the specific laws.
I'd imagine that is difficult to defend in court. Literally come up with any other reason to why the headlights were flashed. Specifically, knowing the intention is extremely difficult unless ur a mind reader.
I remember a driving class I had to do when getting my license. They said you could flip the police off as long as you didn’t stick your hand out your window. When you do that, they can say you were falsely using turn signaling and ticket you.
As a retired cop, I think it's great when people notify drivers of the police. Many people think that cops have fun and like giving people tickets. We don't; it's the worst part of the job. So if signs keep people safe, we are all for it.
I find that not to be true. The primary reason for tickets and stopping people is revenue and asset forfeiture. Any claims to the contrary are disingenuous at best but usually just bold faced lies.
as someone who wants to be a cop... if you arrest someone over them cussing you out you deserve to get fired, look i understand if it pisses you off but it is part of the 1st unless it has a direct threat against you.
That's utter bs. Politicians in Germany don't have any more rights than normal citizens and are - in fact - very very often at the receiving end of criticism and ridicule.
However, in Rockville, USA, you can't swear while driving, because if you're caught doing that in Rockville USA, you can be fined with 100 dollars if you're caught swearing.

It is mainly for farmers to have people in the bed to do thing on the field but is given to the rest of the people. In Tennessee you are allowed on all streets besides interstates
I just remembered something. Did you know that seatbelts being a widely accepted thing is more recent than you'd think? You can look it up if you want, but it wasn't until around the 1980s that seatbelts (and speed limits) were an accepted thing. Car manufacturers fought against including seatbelts in their vehicles for decades, and the general public was like "Seatbelts!! I don't need no seatbelts. Are you insinuating that I'm a bad driver?" Just watch some movies from the 1960s and you'll probably notice the sentiment from the people of the time that people thought "I should be able to drive as fast as I want whenever I want, and I don't need to wear a damn seatbelt." Even better, it was actually mentioned in a Simpsons episode where Homer buys a car without seatbelts and expresses a negative sentiment towards seatbelts.
@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 There were still quite a few cars around that weren't even equipped with seat belts in the 70s at least. Wasn't required until 1965 but the shoulder belts didn't come until around 1970 and pickups and larger trucks didn't get them until much later
In germany, it's illegal to use devices like apps to warn people from speed controls. That's why many GPS here warn you of "danger zones" instead of police controls since there is a high chance of people rapidly slowing down and potentially causing accidents when they see the road.
There was a lawsuit that happened a few years back now where this kid flipped a cop off so this little piglet decided to illegally detain him after following and shouting at the kid for 6 blocks and turned off his body cam until his backup showed up AND SIGNALED TURN YOUR CAM ON. They were actually trying to cuff him until the kid was like “well I got another lawsuit already with your department for the same thing so cool my dad will just sue your department a second time.” And only then did they back off. @@sqlevolicious it's not fascist just because you can't insult police. In the same way, you can't refuse to identify yourself, having your id at all time is mandatory. The truck is owned by a farmer or rancher and is only used on their land, or on up to one mile of highway between parts of their land

No, no they aren't.
No, it literally goes against the first amendment. Finally, the first amendment doesn't apply is if you're using fighting words or threatening.
just posting blatantly false information huh?

@redTanto it isn't that deep dawg. If a police officer has done nothing to disrespect me, I'm not going to disrespect them for no reason. Same way I would treat any other human being. I was in North Wildwood, NJ with my mom. We went to the beach when it was light, then hit some mini golf when it got darker. There was a group of at least 4 older teens a hole or too ahead of us. Good to know this- I was a long haul truck driver and it was never clear whether or not the quick split-second flashing of the high beams to warn other truckers coming the opposite direction that there was a Smokey up ahead, altho I now know doing this was only against company policy, not the law!

Most people like the hero fantasy it gives, some are high on the power trip. Problem is the people tripping on the power are hard to get rid of.
Yeah none of these things are de facto legal. In practice, the law is decided by police in the liminal space of the discretionary powers granted them and the willingness of the state/public to defer to their judgment/shield them from consequences.
It’s not abusing authority lol. Some people, cops or not, are just horrible people and literally wish the worst for anyone who swears at them

U-Turns are also legal and are only prohibited where signed or near the crest of a hill.

In California you need to have a seatbelt in the back of the bed with separate seating
Good informative and fun short
It’s absolutely bonkers that you are required to wear a seatbelt if you’re inside the car but if you’re outside it’s totally 100% okay to be unsecured
They should put seatbelts in truck beds, I agree.
Are you insinuating that I'm a bad driver?"
Just watch some movies from the 1960s and you'll probably notice the sentiment from the people of the time that people thought "I should be able to drive as fast as I want whenever I want, and I don't need to wear a damn seatbelt."
Even better, it was actually mentioned in a Simpsons episode where Homer buys a car without seatbelts and expresses a negative sentiment towards seatbelts.
