Sad fact : attack on Titan manga have 139 chapters because in Japanese 140 is the number for freedom. Meaning eren was so close to freedom but never able to achieve it.
I am Japanese. In Japan, the number 140 does not mean freedom. I don't know where this theory came from, but it is wrong. I did some research on numbers. In numerology, 1 represents the beginning of things, 3 represents blossoming or creativity, and 9 represents the end of the cycle. Furthermore, in numerology, numbers are added to two or more digits, eventually adding up to a single digit. If we rewrite it to 139, we get 1+3+9=13 ↓ (1+3+9) 1+3=4 Thus, we can say that 139 also has the meaning of "stability," which is the essence of the number 4.

@@districtskz hi but im not sure about for others, but in our culture, white flower or white lily, it represents virgnity & innocence, seeing mikasa being surrounded with white flowers in the final ending itterashai, i think it symbolizes for purity and virginity, especially with all the flowers shown in that ending, from the bird carrying a single rose with 4 roses in the foreground as if it is a way of eren's response to mikasas roses during the time she visits erens grave. i know lots of ppl say that the ending may have shown mikasa with a kid and another person(jean) i dont blame them though as they are free to interpret the ending, but since isayama hasn't said anything about that or mikasa getting married. id like to think that she hasnt married anyone, that way, it makes my mental health at peace knowing that they are now forever free in the afterlife.
Eren and Armin are truly brothers., cause instead of blaming Eren solely for everything he did, He (Armin) instead accepted the fact that Eren is still his friend, his bestfriend and ended up accepting and consoling him (Eren) cause in a small way., it was Armin who inspired Eren to seek the whole world but Eren only saw the negativity of humanity instead of the beauty that Armin told him about the land beyond the wall., like what it is in real life., the Nihilism in this ending is both sad and heartbreaking. It may not be a perfect ending but Isayama-sama for me at least made the ending realistic and fascinating., its not all happy ending in reality as well., and despite thousand of years., humanity has always returned to the cycle of hate, violence and war

I did watch the ending explained videos and made some of my own assumptions about it ❤ I think a lot of it is open ended but I made my happy assumptions 😊
Actually not "after" credit, instead just the credit scene that contain those additional panels from the manga that Isayama released after the final chapter to elaborate how Eren successfully exterminate Titan and give peace for at least a century (I guess because it allow enough time for a medieval civilisation to developed into a skyscrapper modern world), before the hatred and war come back to lay waste on Paradis, then the cycle might restart again with another child found Eren tree that resemblance the same tree Ymir found her titan power.

Ymir's love was the love of a person with empathy for their narcissistic co-dependent. Totally toxic relationship that needed to end, and she knows it, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Since these kind of things happen in real life over and over again, it actually makes sense, even though i wouldnt say it is "logical". I would have like some examples in prior seasons of this kind of relationship - maybe given Sasha an abuser boyfriend, and Historia an asshole machievellian narcissist husband that manipulated her, until she finally breaks free of him at the end of the 3rd season, and has him executed. That would have forshadowed Eren's plan.
I hope u watched the whole credits! Would like to see ur input on that. Looks like the cycle just continues with the boy entering this new iteration of the Tree of Life (very similar to when Ymir entered the tree as well).
Thx for doing the reaction to this. I cried myself on some scenes too. Little nitpick, after all the titans returned to normal, there's still the other surviving Rumbling Colossal Titans around the world. Those Rumbling Colossal Titans should had returned back to Eldian humans too. While this current Titan curse from Eren(Always Moving FORWARD) had been stopped, it's still there with Historia's descendants. A new curse can be activated if Historia&Mikasa/Levy's descendants have children together and there's the Royal Imperative(Fight or Flight) to actively defend the royal bloodline. So technically Historia always had the Titan curse(when Eren made contact with her after the coronation the curse was shared to her) but isn't going to activate it. That was Eren's pact with Historia when he was helping in the farm&make sense of what his future actions will be(season4) after talking to Armin&Mikasa&then erasing their memories. Anyway if you're going to do another Attack on Titan reaction, do an analysis of the state of mind by the various characters in the first several episodes(and maybe the rest of season1) to those that survived in the end. The manga creator(Hajime Isayama) wrote this on how he dealt with loss(maybe his mother's death?). How he felt being a "Suicidal Dumb Ass" and the need to move on with his life like the Attack Titan's mentality of "Always Moving Forward" in dealing with his loss. Can you imagine the state of mind that it inspired him to write this manga about how he dealt with his loss. Also in IMO, this is less insane to the creator of Evangelion. As a suggestion, first watch the Evangelion movie from the 90s and react to it when everyone died and the weird imagery that was shown. You might need therapy or a lot of crying(that's why i suggested only watching the movie and not the series so you don't have that divestment into the characters). After watching/reacting to the Evangelion, compare the 3 Finale episodes for Attack on Titan and see which creator is messed up and needs therapy more on how they dealt with loss(being suicidal) and wrote their anime/manga as a way to express their feelings&state of mind to move on.
Its even sadder now looking back at Eren being even more depressed in the later chapters. We know that hes TRIED to change the future for the better, but just can't. I think anyone that has gone thru what Eren has, will have the same depressed reaction.
The thing about post-credits, it showed how life continued, Mikasa had a family with Jean, her passing away and being buried next to Eren, and then old Armin visiting their graves. The island gets modernized, sky-scrappers are built, and civilization looks more like ours, but then there is another modern-day war with plains, rockets, and nukes. In the end, some child in a post-apocalyptic world finds the tree where Eren was buried(the scene looks familiar to when the founder Ymir got her powers falling down somewhere inside the tree) and goes inside so that the new cycle continues.
Eren's story is not one of a hero who knew everything better or who sacrificed himself for everyone. His story is a dilemma of a little boy who couldn't help but be free because that was his nature and completely lost himself on this path. Even though he decided to make his friends the heroes of the world in the end, that doesn't make him a tragic hero himself. Isayama clearly wants to raise a character dilemma here. Eren knew that good people existed beyond the sea, but he still continued to fight for his freedom and sacrifice that of others. As a child, his perspective was different... Because killing the people who threatened his freedom was easy... Because for him there was only good and evil, black and white. Now as an adult, Eren knew that every person has a reason why they are the way they are. And killing people who threaten his freedom would mean taking away the freedom of others. So killing innocent people. He told Armin that he would have triggered the Rumbling even without the Future Vision. He says here that he did it because it felt like he had to. First of all, Eren knows full well that what he did wasn't right. Even though there was no right way out for his people, it wasn't the right way. Eren knows that he only acted out of pure selfishness. That's why he wanted to turn away from Armin and Mika. Eren gave the world the opportunity to discuss it. Just like all the characters just understood that they have never just talked about everything. With the eradication of the world, this was now possible because everyone was exhausted. When Eren said that Armin now has to go outside the wall, he meant the same thing Sacha's father had talked about - the children have to leave the forest. The walls or the forest both stand for the hatred that consolidates in people. And as long as you are trapped in it, you cannot make peace with one another. This is the true statement of AoT And it came at the perfect time. I mean look outside. Everywhere it's about politics, fear and heated discussions. Right versus left. Both point the finger at themselves. We have to understand that there is no black and white. People form their views largely out of fear. And yes, although fears often arise from lies, you have to recognize these fears and take them seriously. The conservatives are afraid that their children will be manipulated in schools by rainbow supporters and that they will be told lies. Leftists are afraid that fascism will arise again and some people, like gays, will be persecuted again. The leftists call all conservatives evil Nazis and all the rightists call all leftists stupid communists. We're not getting anywhere like this. You have to recognize people's fears and not say "Oh, are you blind or why do you think conservatives want fascism again?" Let's talk comfortably and healthily... Even if we don't agree in the end... If If you're interested, let's talk about something else and not politics. Since Corona, this snake has existed in every person. Men should literally be confronted with politics and its toxic aspects every day. That is not good for society. Absolutely great ending! Peak Anime. Little fun fact at the end AoT is very strongly inspired by German and German culture, or takes major influences from German. The environment is said to be based on Germany, the mythology used with Ymir is Germanic or Nordic mythology. All the generals and soldiers are based on German ones. Erwin, for example, on Erwin Rommel. You can tell by the German names like Levi *Ackerman* or Eren *Yeager* which is pronounced like Eren *Jäger* which means hunter. Reiner, Armin and Berthold.. Are also German names. The native language of the AoT world is said to be German.. Which is why the Germans attached so much importance to synchronization. The uniforms are strongly reminiscent of German ones.. Since Eldians are German in another universe. Japan and anime generally have a love for German culture and often use German things. Since Prussia was helping Japan get their army into shape at the time.
I help up pretty well until Armin broke down when he saw Eren.... then I couldnt stop bawling. I will never forget AoT, what a story, so poignant, probably the best anime of all time.
Because it would cause a paradox if he stop, if he didn't start the Rumbling, he wouldn't get parasited by that origin of titan power and have full access to true Founder power. Without that, Eren can't stop Dina from go eat Berthold, and the entire timeline will be wipe up. The consequence of this, is Marley would successfully infiltrate and invade Paradis and make them suffered from the same fate as Palestinian now, and most probably, Eren will start another Hamas in AoT too after he grow up.

I think armin just say we will stay together just for a relief to his best friend, and i like when while in Mikasa memories he say to her to forget him in armin's memories y say that he don't want to her to forget him, because he changed but he is the same person as the eren of first seasons at least for me
Mikasa - eren is the antithesis of Ymir- Fritz. Fritz treated ymir has s*x slave, never loved her while ymir blindly followed him. The curse started When ymir was dying after getting hit by the spear she was still longing for the King to show love but he didn't and she let herself die. The curse ended when Mikasa chose to stop eren. Eren loved Mikasa unlike king Fritz to ymir and wanted her a good life. Ymir was smiling while looking at Mikasa kissing eren realising they loved each other even till the end which she never had from king fritz and let herself free. Eren created an Alternate cabin life in paths with Mikasa so that he could spend time together with her before dying. Actually not "after" credit, instead just the credit scene that contain those additional panels from the manga that Isayama released after the final chapter to elaborate how Eren successfully exterminate Titan and give peace for at least a century (I guess because it allow enough time for a medieval civilisation to developed into a skyscrapper modern world), before the hatred and war come back to lay waste on Paradis, then the cycle might restart again with another child found Eren tree that resemblance the same tree Ymir found her titan power.

Ymir's love was the love of a person with empathy for their narcissistic co-dependent. Totally toxic relationship that needed to end, and she knows it, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Since these kind of things happen in real life over and over again, it actually makes sense, even though i wouldnt say it is "logical". I would have like some examples in prior seasons of this kind of relationship - maybe given Sasha an abuser boyfriend, and Historia an asshole machievellian narcissist husband that manipulated her, until she finally breaks free of him at the end of the 3rd season, and has him executed. That would have forshadowed Eren's plan.

Little nitpick, after all the titans returned to normal, there's still the other surviving Rumbling Colossal Titans around the world. Those Rumbling Colossal Titans should had returned back to Eldian humans too. While this current Titan curse from Eren(Always Moving FORWARD) had been stopped, it's still there with Historia's descendants. A new curse can be activated if Historia&Mikasa/Levy's descendants have children together and there's the Royal Imperative(Fight or Flight) to actively defend the royal bloodline. So technically Historia always had the Titan curse(when Eren made contact with her after the coronation the curse was shared to her) but isn't going to activate it. That was Eren's pact with Historia when he was helping in the farm&make sense of what his future actions will be(season4) after talking to Armin&Mikasa&then erasing their memories.
Anyway if you're going to do another Attack on Titan reaction, do an analysis of the state of mind by the various characters in the first several episodes(and maybe the rest of season1) to those that survived in the end. The manga creator(Hajime Isayama) wrote this on how he dealt with loss(maybe his mother's death?). How he felt being a "Suicidal Dumb Ass" and the need to move on with his life like the Attack Titan's mentality of "Always Moving Forward" in dealing with his loss. Can you imagine the state of mind that it inspired him to write this manga about how he dealt with his loss.
Also in IMO, this is less insane to the creator of Evangelion. As a suggestion, first watch the Evangelion movie from the 90s and react to it when everyone died and the weird imagery that was shown. You might need therapy or a lot of crying(that's why i suggested only watching the movie and not the series so you don't have that divestment into the characters). After watching/reacting to the Evangelion, compare the 3 Finale episodes for Attack on Titan and see which creator is messed up and needs therapy more on how they dealt with loss(being suicidal) and wrote their anime/manga as a way to express their feelings&state of mind to move on.

Its even sadder now looking back at Eren being even more depressed in the later chapters. We know that hes TRIED to change the future for the better, but just can't. I think anyone that has gone thru what Eren has, will have the same depressed reaction.

The thing about post-credits, it showed how life continued, Mikasa had a family with Jean, her passing away and being buried next to Eren, and then old Armin visiting their graves.
The island gets modernized, sky-scrappers are built, and civilization looks more like ours, but then there is another modern-day war with plains, rockets, and nukes.
In the end, some child in a post-apocalyptic world finds the tree where Eren was buried(the scene looks familiar to when the founder Ymir got her powers falling down somewhere inside the tree) and goes inside so that the new cycle continues.
I do not see where her and Jean had a baby but i do not mind the assumption in fact I love it!

She did not marry anyone. She remained loyal to Eren till death
Eren's story is not one of a hero who knew everything better or who sacrificed himself for everyone. His story is a dilemma of a little boy who couldn't help but be free because that was his nature and completely lost himself on this path. Even though he decided to make his friends the heroes of the world in the end, that doesn't make him a tragic hero himself. Isayama clearly wants to raise a character dilemma here.
Eren knew that good people existed beyond the sea, but he still continued to fight for his freedom and sacrifice that of others. As a child, his perspective was different... Because killing the people who threatened his freedom was easy... Because for him there was only good and evil, black and white. Now as an adult, Eren knew that every person has a reason why they are the way they are. And killing people who threaten his freedom would mean taking away the freedom of others. So killing innocent people.
He told Armin that he would have triggered the Rumbling even without the Future Vision. He says here that he did it because it felt like he had to. First of all, Eren knows full well that what he did wasn't right. Even though there was no right way out for his people, it wasn't the right way. Eren knows that he only acted out of pure selfishness. That's why he wanted to turn away from Armin and Mika. Eren gave the world the opportunity to discuss it. Just like all the characters just understood that they have never just talked about everything. With the eradication of the world, this was now possible because everyone was exhausted. When Eren said that Armin now has to go outside the wall, he meant the same thing Sacha's father had talked about - the children have to leave the forest. The walls or the forest both stand for the hatred that consolidates in people. And as long as you are trapped in it, you cannot make peace with one another. This is the true statement of AoT
And it came at the perfect time. I mean look outside. Everywhere it's about politics, fear and heated discussions. Right versus left. Both point the finger at themselves. We have to understand that there is no black and white. People form their views largely out of fear. And yes, although fears often arise from lies, you have to recognize these fears and take them seriously. The conservatives are afraid that their children will be manipulated in schools by rainbow supporters and that they will be told lies. Leftists are afraid that fascism will arise again and some people, like gays, will be persecuted again. The leftists call all conservatives evil Nazis and all the rightists call all leftists stupid communists.
We're not getting anywhere like this. You have to recognize people's fears and not say "Oh, are you blind or why do you think conservatives want fascism again?"
Let's talk comfortably and healthily... Even if we don't agree in the end... If

AoT is very strongly inspired by German and German culture, or takes major influences from German. The environment is said to be based on Germany, the mythology used with Ymir is Germanic or Nordic mythology. All the generals and soldiers are based on German ones. Erwin, for example, on Erwin Rommel. You can tell by the German names like Levi *Ackerman* or Eren *Yeager* which is pronounced like Eren *Jäger* which means hunter. Reiner, Armin and Berthold.. Are also German names.
The native language of the AoT world is said to be German.. Which is why the Germans attached so much importance to synchronization.
The uniforms are strongly reminiscent of German ones.. Since Eldians are German in another universe.
Japan and anime generally have a love for German culture and often use German things. Since Prussia was helping Japan get their army into shape at the time.

Mikasa - eren is the antithesis of Ymir- Fritz. Fritz treated ymir has s*x slave, never loved her while ymir blindly followed him. The curse started When ymir was dying after getting hit by the spear she was still longing for the King to show love but he didn't and she let herself die. The curse ended when Mikasa chose to stop eren. Eren loved Mikasa unlike king Fritz to ymir and wanted her a good life. Ymir was smiling while looking at Mikasa kissing eren realising they loved each other even till the end which she never had from king fritz and let herself free.
Eren created an Alternate cabin life in paths with Mikasa so that he could spend time together with her before dying.
The Armin and eren talk in paths happened first and eren Mikasa's life in paths happened later.
