Just looked at some brand new Lodge stuff in a store yesterday. The #14 modern Lodge was $54.00. That retailers prices are usually a bit high on most things, being a very tourist oriented gift store next to the "Mother Road". However, the Lodge cookware is very economical by comparison to the "celebrity" or "designer" or "fashion" or "gourmet" label products. I laughed when I saw a single skillet that was priced at about what I would normally expect to spend on 5 or more typical used flea market, yard sale, or thrift store finds. The beauty of vintage or just plain modern average used cast iron is the fact it can be restored or even "improved" with some effort.

Oh wow Chris. They are appearing everywhere I guess. I got mine about a month ago. You got a beauty there.

Nice! Not keeping this one, I’ll let someone else enjoy it for a couple bucks

@@cast_iron_chris Put it out there. It won't last long at all.

I haven't cooked much in mine yet. I did find that I don't have a large enough burner diameter in my turkey fryer for proper even heating for one of these monsters. My burner diameter is pretty much only appropriate for #10 skillets as a maximum.

I scored a Lodge #14 15 1/4" skillet about a month ago. Its a bit newer than this one. Has Lodge "egg" logo but assist handle tab is solid type. Im guessing 1970s maybe.

For sure- probably my favorites. Some of the old lodge pieces like their arch logo skillets and the lids with raised wording trumps other foundries

I'm a big fan of your TT and YT channel and have been following you for a while! I wonder if you would/could share some information on how to identify and date all of the various cast iron pieces? Is there any sort of publication or online resource available? I apologize if you have already covered this!

How long is each “round” in the vinegar bath?
