OK, wow. I was born and raised in San Diego. My father worker at NAS Miramar the whole time as a civil contractor - out of the Navy. Brought up on F4 Phantoms flying over our house in 1977. To hear that your amazing collection started there at a time I was there is an absolute treat. Thank you for sharing. My VW addiction was brought about in living and growing up in a time where Air Cooled VW's were everywhere at a cheap price to get me to school. Danke!
Had the pleasure of this mans company at Bad Camberg this year sat with a group of people outside the hotel after he had won first place in the rally, wonderful. Stories and company.
The history that the Grundmann family is curating here is invaluable. Thankfully they have the knowledge , experience and ability to provide this collection for the world. Thank you Family Grundmann. ✌👍🖖
There's something about the sound and the smell of those old bugs, as well as the way they drive. Takes me back to being a kid in the 70s, knowing three people that owned one. I had a '67 for a short time in the 80s. Cool cars.
Oi. Se quiser gravar um vídeo com meus Volkswagen aqui na minha loja será um prazer. Gosto muito do trabalho de vocês. Foi graças a vocês que comprei meus Volkswagen
I had a 70 karmann that my father owned for 28 years and it was my love and I was door panels away from having it completely restored and then some teenager playing with her phone hit me at 55 mph while I was waiting at a stop light. My wife and I now have herniated discs in our backs and she got a tear on her brain. Moral of the story put down your phone while you drive. Because that one second you look down could change your life in the worst way. So we started over with a 67 bus and a 58 beetle. Life goes on but please drive safely.
Have owned 3 type 1’s as a teenager. Drop the back 4 Notches and pulled out a ton of leafs in the front so the Entire ride is about 3inches from the ground. VDuB Lyfe.
The first car (fire car) is completely unrestored? Well, it's certainly not original with the front fenders not matching - note the one has a horn grill, the other does not.
Talk about a unique fire beetle but don't show it... Viewers want to see those Volkswagens, but all they see are two guys chatting! Praten over een unieke brandweer kever maar die niet laten zien... Kijkers willen die Volkswagens zien maar zien alleen maar twee kerels kletspraat ophangen!

My 1st car was a used '64 bug in the mid 70's. 40 years later, I have another '64. These cars get into your soul.
I have a 64 beetle too

Yes it is original, exactly how it was built in the factory 🏭
Poor filming. We want to see the machines, not always on the interview.
