      Thanks!! It took a couple years for the property to recover after it was logged off. I’m sure you remember what it looked like back then.

      Words spoken so true for all of us. If I knew what I know now I would be a lot better off. It didn’t take me very long in life to figure out a lot of these crazy old timers had worldly knowledge that as a younger man was to arrogant to listen to. It didn’t take me long after a few hiccups in life for me to use the two eyes and ears given to me to look and listen twice as much as I spoke to realize some of these older people had a life time of lessons to share if you were willing to listen. As the sand in my own hour glass is more in the bottom than what’s left in the top. I see the younger generation coming up behind me and as I try to pass on some of my own insight to them they look at me with the same arrogance as I once did myself. Funny how life and HISTORY repeats its self over and over again. Sorry for the long rant lol was just sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee reflecting on the words you wrote. I hope you found a piece of property when you were looking before.

    Kitchen stove could go. Takes up too much space. 2 burner camp stove on the counter would be enough. A fold down table would work out well, with folding chairs that can go in or out. Screen door.

      I’m sure if a bear wants in he will get in. After 15 yrs I’ve been lucky with no issues. but I don’t leave any food inside when I’m not around

      @@offgridcabinaddict6314 we're going to build our cabin off the grid when our kids go to college.. and this is just one of my genuine questions cuz I'm a scaredy cat

    • @offgridcabinaddict6314
      @offgridcabinaddict6314  3 роки тому

      Don’t be scared life is an adventure. Not sure where you tend to build in the country some areas bears have had more human contact and are less weary of us. You can always use an electric fence to deter them. if one becomes a problem. Wrap a little tinfoil around the fence wire in a couple spots with jelly or bacon grease to get them to stick their wet nose on it and they will get a shocking surprise. That should do the trick if not call the DNR or EPOs ie. fish cops lol. And they can trap and relocate the bear or give you further guidance on what to do. Hope this puts you more at ease. Good luck in your future endeavors.

    Man bud, it feels like yesterday, but looking at us in the video it now seems like a lifetime ago. No better memories made then at camp. My only regret is not taking advantage of youth, (before kids) and finding my own piece of property. All the money we wasted lol. I guess that’s a lesson in itself though. Loving these videos bud, especially during this Corona crap. Memories that can never be taking away. Keep them coming bud! 🇺🇸👊

I’m sure there is plenty of guys looking for a woman ( not even sure if that last statement is expectable anymore the whole man/woman lol.) to live off grid simply in the woods. Keep me posted on your success in chasing your dream just don’t go into way into debt to do it. Wish you the best of luck Juliet.

Keep me posted when you do lock down your spot. I hope to have a good video out this season but it all depends on if we get good tracking snow. Take care and good luck on your search.

      I’m in the Houlton area. It’s worth every penny I hope you achieve your goal. It’s an amazing area up there it was like going back in time. I was building my off grid place to get away from the noise of daily life and build a slower more sustainable simpler life all on my own. What I found is I have an amazing community around me up there. It brings me back to when I was a kid and everyone knew everyone in the neighborhood and we looked out for each other. Unlike now where everyone is trying to out do one another and neighbors don’t know each other or help each other. I do know my neighbors here in mass and I take care of them when they need help. I think that a lot of what everyone is searching for in the off grid movement I see today. Is a simpler slower paced life with less consumption and a strong community of people that will run to you when your in need not away from you. The crazy thing is I also found the same community connection in VT where I bought a cabin. I’m finding the same thing I’ve only recently started to meet my neighbors in VT. Anyway is wish you the best on your quest keep me posted when you purchase your land. Thanks for watching. means a lot that you reached out. welcome to the community I’m trying to build here on UA-cam.
