Amtrak's "Auto Train" at Palatka, Florida

After a 3-hour drive south from Savannah, Georgia, my Dad and I arrived at Palatka, Florida to intercept Amtrak's northbound "Auto Train," no. 52. This famously lengthy passenger train operates between Sanford, FL and Lorton, VA and is very unique in that your car joins you for the journey. The first portion of the train carries the passengers, while the second portion carries their personal vehicles. We'll witness the train passing Palatka's historic station with a pair of P40DC locomotives.
