P. S., the fact that you make sure everything is serviceable is just outstanding. I love how you all think about making sure the vehicle is able to be fully maintained and serviced without any impact from the audio system. So good.
love how you guys take great pride in your work, and customers are lucky because 95% of what you do gets hidden behind panels and nobody would really know the quality of work you guys do. I don't know any shop that goes to the length to the degree you guys do regardless of how much the customer spends. whatever it is you do, is high quality. keep up the great work and videos!

It's so crazy everybody always has trouble with clips and taking things apart and you just do it like with your eyes closed! Yea, my 04' Passat wagon has the 1.8T Four Motion with the works like heated leather seats as well as front and rear component speakers which is great but the rivets are gonna make it fun to swap them out. I always catch different vids to gather ideas of mounting and tricks since I've mainly worked with Japanese and American style vehicles. Thanks 4 the vid.
Thank you for your vids. I just bought a 2017 Jetta and the door panel removal is what brought me here...but I foujnd a wealth of info on your site about stereo equipment and stereo shops "worst practices". All the things you raised red flags about I saw in my previous Honda Accord install.

I need an audio guy like him here in Chicago. Someone that's knowledgeable about cars and knows how to do it correctly, and won't damaged your doors, wires or speakers.
Finally, a Jetta video!!! I have a 2013 SE that came with the same audio as this one. I upgraded the HU a couple times (AVIC5100NEX currently) which was pretty easy (no mods) with a dash kit and antenna adapter. The door speakers can be tedious bc of the rivets but once they're out it's pretty easy to accommodate speakers using standard brackets. I cut holes in the door panels just above the factory grills to put in my tweeters; they sound good in this location but I kinda wish I had tried to modify the A pillar instead for more accurate imaging. Anyway, great video as always!!!!

The reason why you have some much resistance from those clips is because you are suppose to pop them with a wedge like tool first. Its pretty cheap
I think you put in a better system with my Jetta (Focal flax and Audio Control amps). Still, love all the attention to detail you have built your reputation off of. Keep knocking it out of the park fellas!

What's your take on the RF P1 Punch series vs the kicker KS series? The 6.75 component of RF P1675-S is about $50 cheaper than the 44KSS6704. It's also about half the RMS rating as well. Are the KS worth the $$$. Only review I was able to find was for the KS series 6x9 3-way coax speaker. And it wasn't a good review

I love vw golf m5. Possible to put 18 speakers. And nobody can see tham. Because cars has so much space under interior plastics. So possible to hide the speakers. 18 speakers. Sound is amazing. Surround

How do you stop the long thin panel at 2:22 from rattling? I didn't take the door apart yet and it rattles sometimes. I'm afraid it will be worse if I take the door apart and put it back together. What speakers would you recommend for this?

Yeap, had to redo a week ago my front and back speakers because of thous adapters... wish I know before how bad they are, plus I spended a lot of time finding the right ones.
What adapters did you use in the end for the speakers?
So, I had two sets of Pioneer speakers whit adapters included for my car. Ended up whit buying new Hertz sets, cutting out factory harness and just soldering wires, yepp yepp yepp, and now I sleep a much better at night.

I have the same car I want to buy the Rockford Fosgate speakers that you used but Crutchfield is telling me they won't fit for my car 🤷♂️

I've got a Jetta with a RCD 340 which isn't as great as the MIB 2 in terms of sound processing
The current setup is the RCD340 With the stock 4 speaker 4 tweeters setup
Now if I wanna upgrade my sound without changing the headunit what would you suggest?
Should I change the speakers out for a higher output speaker and tweeter and call it a day or add an amp as well because with the stock speakers and the RCD the sound tends to distort after about 50% so do you think maybe an underseat sub+amp would help out with that ?

Hey Dean, I have a 2013 vw jetta with a fendi or fender system. I replaced my factory radio and added a bass amp, but I have no power from my head-unit amp power wire to turn on my amp. what should I do? Thanks Dean!
They don't make those brackets any more. My speakers are 2.5" mounting depth going into a 2020 jetta. What brackets would you recommend?

Do those type cars have better mid-bass? That door is almost fully sealed... In theory, should have some great mid-bass.
I have a 2013 Jetta and currently have JBL GTO components installed. I have the inner and outer metal door panels deadened and I do think that they have pretty impressive midbass response. I still run a sub of course but it can still sound pretty full without it playing. I plan on upgrading my components soon to something higher end and I'm sure that will further increase the midbass response.😊
Question on the backup camera, I have one going into my reverse light but when I step on the brake the video cuts out? Any way to fix this?

That is a Mk6 generation (2011-2016). I have a 2013 and the battery is most def under the hood.
What year/model/generation of Jetta are you doing to? This video would be much more helpful if you had just put that in the title, so people who don't have that particular generation you're working can move along and find help for the model they actually have. Thanks.

The speaker access is a joke! Almost as bad as trying to replace DRLs...but riveted speakers serviceable after ripping off the whole panel? Pfft. Anyone want to roughly estimate speaker replacement labor cost at a VW dealership?
We use the adapter for the speakers and have NEVER had them fail That's my only problem with you guys.
