25:07 hey there Timmies. It’s time for math class. The total number of deaths in that war was around the 4.6 million range. Now the global population in 1700 was roughly 610 million. That is roughly 0.75% of the world’s population. However, nearly all of the army at this point is male. So that is 4.6 million men that died. Chop that 610 million in half and we get 305 million. Which means that 1.5% of the male population died in that war. EDIT: it got even worse. Since the war was nearly entirely fought within Europe, then it is safe to assume most of those casualties were Europeans. The European population in 1700 was 98 million. The total European population that died would be roughly 4.7% The total European male population that died would be roughly 9.4%
Weirdly this was probably my favourite HoI4 part pf any megacampaign despite how overpowered you supposedly were Probably had to do with the Transcaucassian Blitzkrieg desttoying your industru, but still, just way more fun than normally which is just a nonstop stomp from your nation
Honestly I think this one was better. You being "OP" into Hoi4 meant you were so big that everyone fought you and you actually had a WW2 where I saw the danger. Not three of four curbstomps in a war.
Most cursed Mega Campaign 2024 idea: Mega Campaign Roulette! Start as a character in CK III and then at the start of each new game, put all the Great Powers except for the one you played as last game on the old magical country picking wheel and let it spin, then play as that nation for the rest of the game before rinsing and repeating in the next one. The resulting chaos and instability should be legendary.
I love how the Black Horde split off from the Mongol Empire, reached its peak in the 1500s, fell, was restored by the Romans and regained its splendour because of them.
next year @iSorrowproductions should post the REDUX first, and we have to guess who the original nation was. Also, would like to see in the redux a different nation being played per game, as then it will be more fun to see him try and tackle the beasts he made in the previous games, and at the end we will have a more balanced world.
YES ! But the original nation shouldn't be too obvious like it was in this one (I mean, a huge Orthodox state in Germany named "Rome" was never going to be created by the AI)
i swear to god the ai being like that in eu4 is (partially) something with the converter, while the ai in base games does go around forts most of the time, ive never seen it do the crazy distances in these videos
27:44 Saint Helena Edit: I actually got it? That’s awesome. I guessed that because Napoleon was sent there and if I remember correctly the Papal States went there in a previous mega campaign.
btw, in the EU4 game options, "No Limit on Idea Groups = Yes" is ironman compatible - you can go admin ideas over and over and it can still count towards achievements.
I would like to suggest that this Redux series be continued. Just keep picking new nations and building new alternate time lines like one a month or something it's a cool series.
So for this years megacampaign I think one of these might be fun: An Egyptian start as either an heir of Alexander or one of the Pharaoic dynasties (I suggest the Ptolemaïc dynasty because its perfect for the whole CK joke of "incest fun". A start in Africa becoming a black viking. A start in India transitioning to Japan in EU4 (Indian Shogunate). Anything into a Caribbean pirate nation. Ulm (into Stellaris too, because of the planet).
I have two suggestions for the mega campaign! 1. Start as the Count of Geneva; limiting your expansion in ck3 to alpine or swiss areas with the intention to form the Calvinist Genevan Consistory in eu4, then try to convert the whole world, only directly controlling strategic "holy sites". Inspired by the Magisterium from Golden Compass/His Dark Materials 2. Start as the Ras (count) of Dämbiya; Jewish Ethiopia but, the twist is at some point you take back the holy land, but while your brother or whatever inherits "Beta Israel" you inherit "ALPHA ISRAEL" then go on to conquer the world from the Holy City
Bam (Revolutionary Revolutionary Revo) sounds like the debut album for a synth-pop band that had one good single in 1985 and the rest of the tracks are just forgotten.
I think for the next mega campaign it would be interesting to go all in on "going ham" in CK3/EU4, like full world conquest stuff, so that by Vic2/HOI4 every country in the world is just your old puppets that have broken free. Would be interesting fighting a world war against your own creations.
I have a Idee for a play-through: how about a big campaign called Amazons in the Amazon? you would have to create a culture in ck3 that is a matriarchy and then in eu4 colonise Brazil.
You could change to the most interesting AI nation at every stage of the mega campaign next time. Might make it a bit more challenging for you and I think it could be more fun because otherwise you steamroll everything easily, and have to hold back from not doing even more.
I'd actually love to see you start a mega-campaign somewhere in Africa. Just sort of stay out of the main areas and let the AI go ham in Europe and Asia.
I think that to truly make the next one the 2024 Mega Campaign and all others after it, is you play each game 3 with 3 months inbetween, so it spans all of 2024
Dude...I literally just played a game of CK3, inspired by your last Mega Campaign, as Anatolikon lmao The last 200 years after the Mongols destroyed the Byzantines I did an Eastern Conquest and made an "Alexander's Empire" except with a woman- Despotissa Ioulia. I renamed the Empire "Ioulianika" and rped that she was still a Despot who larped as an Iranian / Alexandrian hybrid. I moved it to EU4 and spent most of the game trying to state everything since my game had such high dev
Would love to see you play as colonial Caribbean or South America or something for this year. Another colonial game where you go back and beat up your former overlord would be fun :)
I love your mega campaigns! But I have an idea for your next one What if you swapped nations each game per either viewer choice or at random? That way when it comes to hoi4 itll be a much more interesting sweep of the world as it was for this video compared to the original mega campaign video as you playing more nations throughout the mega campaign developed those regions to be stronger in the long haul

The total European population that died would be roughly 4.7%
The total European male population that died would be roughly 9.4%
Keep in mind that it is only combatant losses that are accounted for. Overall losses would be much worse
So that's every 1/10 guys in Europe died in that war
Chinese ass war.
and thats only military age man as well. Essentially an entire generation wiped
And because of how eu4 works both nations will recover and be perfectly fine in like 2 or 3 years max
Britannia being exiled in st. Helena is the most perfect bit of irony in this playthrough
It's like that one time the UK was reduced to the Falklands in HOI 4.

This would be so good. 4 potential great powers from each game fighting it out in HOI4
Revolutionary revolu is just beautiful EU4 shenanigans

Actually interesting idea, would love to see that
That's the first time I've seen a good idea in ISP comments for 4 years

The real graveyard of empires isn't Afghanistan, it's this random island in the Atlantic
Revolutionary Revolutionary Revolutionary would be an accurate descriptor for IRL France right given the number of different republics they've had

There are settings in Vic3 that turn AI aggressiveness up. You can do that in the game setup.
Espionage just keeps getting more based because it is lowkey really good in the right context
"I don't plan on expanding into italy" he says at the end of CK3
*owns all of italy by the end of EU4*

I have a Idee for a play-through: how about a big campaign called Amazons in the Amazon? you would have to create a culture in ck3 that is a matriarchy and then in eu4 colonise Brazil.
The baby eating patriarch is a reference to Blackadder and the Baby-Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells.
Bath and Wells, but Wales is close enough I guess! 😉
Great that you actually start in CK3, it's always fun
Two banger endings for another banger mega campaign. Somewhere in Africa would be an interesting start for the next campaign
