If it fits, I sits! Love Bentley.💕 You're absolutely right about using the shoulders/bust measurement to pick a pattern size and adjust for the waist and hips. Much easier to alter those measurements than the reverse. Love this dress on you! Hurry up summer.. 😉

Hi Michelle! I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now, just sort of lurking to see if I was going to subscribe. Well I think your an excellent sewist so I indeed subscribed. You’re quite thorough in describing every step in your sew a longs. I totally enjoy watching your vlog! I’ve retired as a sewing instructor, I only teach my grand children how to sew now. Here in Hawaii, sewing is not taught in schools like before. You would make an excellent instructor!

Yeah he fell asleep in the box but then Stuart got back from an appointment and he dashed off to greet him so I then moved the box. Yeah I think this dress would look great on you, maybe give it a go sometime 😁 x

Thank you for this! I'm getting ready to do the same version & will need to grade as you did. This is the first tutorial that I've seen suggesting to check finished garment measurements, and where to find them...,hopefully this will help me with more accurate sizing. You are an excellent sewing teacher, and your dress looks beautiful on you!

Haha I know a few people think it is a little odd 🤣 I do sit and sew sometimes but standing can be quite nice as I keep moving around so I don’t get too stiff x

When you did the arm hole finish you could have stitched in the ditch. It would've helped you turn over the material to give a very clean edge. Just letting you know in case you didn't. Love the fabric you chose.
I have got the bought pattern with the red dress on. I’m am making the wrap front dress will send a picture when finished but it might be a little while as I making 3 baby quilts at the moment your fabric is gorgeous and the dress fits beautifully.It’s a shame the box wasn’t a little bit bigger then Bentley would have been able to curl up. He is so cute

I could see you wouldn't need a zip! You made such a lovely job I've ordered the pattern for myself except I know I'll have to adapt the shoulders as they are always too wide.

I have the same problem about table been to small. I bought a piece of bigger wood and put it on top. It work a lot better. Hope it makes sense english is not my first language still learning 😊

Hi Michelle, love your videos. I love how you showed how to grade the front of the skirt. Did you also grade the back of the skirt? If yes, did you use the same method as you used in the front? (There is no marking in the back skirt as the front skirt). Thank you 🥰

Lol at least your cats are relatively well behaved. Mine sat between me and the sewing machine, right on the fabric I was sewing, put his front paws on my chest, and proceeded to lick me all over the face. He wouldn't take no for an answer. This behaviour continued this morning when I attempted to put together a PDF pattern, so that was a complete write off. He was always the well behaved one when my little girl cat Chloe was still alive, and she was the sewing pest, but now he seems to think its his job to take over where she left off and then some.
Aww bless him! He sounds like such a loving boy 😻 they don’t like it when our attention isn’t fully on them do they 🤣 x
Really well explained regarding the sizing - do you ever need to do length adjustments? Also wondering what your tracing paper is.
I did lengthen the skirt at the bottom and I do sometimes have to alter waist lines etc.. it can be a bit hit and miss most of the time I get it about right 😁 the tracing paper is slightly different from my usual as it is wider and a bit thicker. I added it at the bottom of my description box if you wanted to get some xx

Hi Michelle got this pattern I'm doing style D I'm bit confused with the bodice part looking at instructions it looks like it has double sided bodice is that correct?...

Hiya I haven’t made view D but I had a look at the packet. Looks like view C is where you have an overlay extra piece of fabric. View D is just single layers, if you go to the instructions for where it says ‘bodice C/D’ it tells you to layer the 2 pieces for view C but then after that step it is for the beginning of view D and carrying on with view C. Hope that makes sense x

So. After a year I am finally putting this dress together. I cut it out and then didn't touch it for months! I thought I wouldn't be able to either after I managed to drop my machine needle straight down into the base of my sewing machine...somehow my husband and I fished it out so i could get started. How random is that????
I have done that before where a needle has fallen into the plate 😂 hope you enjoy making the dress x

I have always traced my patterns. I find it means that can make any changes easily without ruining the original 😁

The stuff in the video I used is new to me which I got from eBay, it’s not my favourite as it is quite thick. I just try out different ones until I find one I like 😂

Yeah sure it’s not my normal stuff but trying lots of different types! I got this one from eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283419270855
Is there a way to trace if your paper isn't see through?
You could use a light box, or if you have a large window and tape your pattern and paper and trace that way

Yeah is that all those ‘watch this movie’ thinggys it is sooooo annoying I’m trying to delete and report them whenever I find them! I have seen other vloggers have had similar issues. I’ll try and keep reporting them to UA-cam to try and stop them xx
