Joe and Nicole already made that trip have they found the end of the wall the reason I don't watch your video travels is because you put yourself in it too much speaking for myself I don't really want to watch you talk
I like and watch your videos as well as Joe and Nic's; no one person or group can cover every interesting fact about an area, not even close. Keep up the good work! "The Wall" is largely a joke anyway, if you want you can go over, under, or around anyway.
"The road less travelled"! Thanks for taking us along. Love those back roads but I must confess, I would not have been so brave to take a 20 mile dirt road in such a remote area.
Love this! Wow. Rosa's Cantina. So interesting, this whole area of Texas. Your drone work is so great and really adds layers of interest too. Thank you!
I always smile when I see Justice of the Peace signs. I got married in one in Germany and it is in an 1800s palace. Wonderful trip. Thank you for taking us with you.😊
That my friend was a very interesting journey!!! Glad you made it through that last part. You needed off road tires for that, or a good horse!! Lol. Thank you as always.
Thanks! I had a hard figuring out what to film just east of El Paso - gonna have to go back again someday and take a longer look at that Mission Trail.
I had the best time watching your emotional "roller coaster ride". This was the best video. Those buildings are all so interesting. An artist can have such amazing ideas. But beware touching THE WALL. Never know if or when it has zapping power.....never know. 😵💫. Thank you so much.....
I REALLY enjoyed the footage on that 20-mile dirt road...the light, and shadows, etc....I can see why it would have been stressful to actually drive it, though. Aren't the grave markers down there something else? Thank you for taking us along, its so fun to be one of your happy passengers! 😊🚙
There's not much activity at that part of the "wall" so they don't bother with it. | I write down all the towns you visit. I like knowing about small towns.
Very cool video. I loved the scenery and the unique cemetery’s in that part of the country. So sorry that last part was so hard for you. But the country was beautiful. Take care
Thanks for the Ft Hancock drive thru - MEXICO, can't believe your actually crossed over there, loved it. Was thinking Shawshank at the beginning of the video. Up and down 20 lots years ago. Texas Tim
Thank you for making Texas more interesting to me, I’ve been to Texas many times and I have never really liked it. I do like San Antonio but I couldn’t see myself living there. Your trips around Texas at least make it more interesting to me.
That was really great, Coach, and so glad you didn’t get stranded in the Boonies. I’m surprised you were able to fly the drone so close to the border at El Paso. I would have thought that would have been prohibited. My husband has dual citizenship and tries to go to Mexico about two or three times a year and he always crosses at El Paso but I’m sure he’s never been on the roads you traveled on so I will have to show him your video.
I am so glad your channel was suggested by UA-cam. This was an awesome video! Have you gone to the Falcon area down by the valley ? Apparently there’s a statue or statues that divide the two countries…… my partner and I are going to try and do the drive you just did and keep going down the Rio Grande….. eventually getting to Brownsville ❤
If your not familiar with a certain road or notice that it becomes a dirt road. Please turn around and get your bearings straightened out. Loved the murals and really quaint and beautiful small towns. Including the trip through El Paso.❤❤
Did you happen to go by the Rattlesnake bomber base, just south of El Paso on IH 20. It was an old abandoned base that the Enola Gay was temporally stored at after WW II.
Those rock walls you saw in Anthony and possibly El Paso, are all over the southwest. I guess in the olden times in Mexico (and maybe still is) that you were rich if you had a rock wall. My community has rock walls surrounding it and my house borders the neighborhood next to us, so my backyard has a nice tall rock wall.
It wasn't a mistake to have been able to see Rosa's Cantina, it was destiny. If I accidently go down a wrong road, I always wonder why I was directed to do this. I have found out many things that I wouldn't have otherwise. It was a blessing for you. The way I see it, kind of like the Father knows your likes and interests and leads you down a road you wouldn't have gone just to give you a happy little gift to make you smile.
If you came from Arizona down I-10, you passed right by where I live (Senior mobile community) when you were passing through Las Cruces. Seriously, as you passed the main truck stop on Motel road, to the right is a large (close to 350 homes) mobile home community. That's my neighborhood!
El Paso, an old Spanish term that means quarterback. "I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living, or get busy dying". John your videos show you are busy living
As the video went along it got more and more interesting, especially the last part where you turned off onto Quitman Pass Road. I read an article years ago about the Quitman Mountains, which had scenic gorges and waterfalls. Your video did not confirm that, so I don't know where all that scenery was; probably on private land, which seemed in your video to be open range. Having driven on no traffic, sketchy roads myself, I can appreciate the stress level. Once you got back to Sierra Blanca, the video's appeal lessened. Still, as a Texan who hasn't been on the roads you traversed (especially route 1111), I enjoyed the video. Where did you get that Texas map?
You can always tell you are in the states by the telephone poles or electrical lines. I remember asking my brother if a picture was from the states or Germany and he said duh... it has telephone poles. LOL
My oldest brother spent a lot of time in Sierra Blanca back in the day protesting a nuclear power storage site they wanted to build there. The community banded together and it was not allowed. They proved that the area held vital underground springs.
Coach, be sure to carry an ID or you might get deported to Mexico! Get me some Mexican vanilla before you get back. I will share my Tres Leches Cake with you for your effort! 🎂
WHEN I WAS DELIVERING TRUCKS, I HAD ONE I HAD TO TAKE TO HARLINGEN TEXAS! AFTER THE DELIVERY ,I VISITED AN COUPLE OF HIGH SCHOOL CLASSMATES, WHO WERE “WINTER TEXANS” AFTER THIS, I GRABBED AN RENT CAR AND RAN THE BORDER ROADS TO LAREDO, TEXAS TO GRAB AN NEW INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER TRUCK, THAT WAS BUILT IN MEXICO! IT WAS AN INTERESTING TRIP!! AFTER RETIRING FROM THE RAILROAD I SPENT AN INTERESTING 4 WINTERS IN CAMPO CALIFORNIA, AND LIVED THE “BORDER LIFE”! AN ROAD TRIP I WOULD LIKE TO TRY, IS RUNNING THE BORDER ROADS HARLINGEN TEX TO SAN YSIDRO ,CALIFORNIA, CROSS OVER TO TIJUANA MEXICO, THEN HEAD BACK EAST TO THE GULF OF MEXICO VIA MEXICAN FEDERAL HIGHWAY 2!
Boy howdy, John, I was a little worried about you being so close to Mexico and then you wound up in Mexico. Phew, I was afraid you'd wind up with a bunch of illegals wanted you to get them across the border into America. So glad that didn't happen. I thought El Paso was interesting to see. I had an aunt who lived there for years. It sure was a huge city. That last leg sure was an lonely drive and I bet you were glad to have a Jeep. Thank you for the trip but do stay in America. Happy trails to you and God bless.
Did you see any illegal aliens out there on the Desert? Interesting drive, almost like a different country. 😮 I don't think I'll ever go back to Mexico. Thanks for Sharing. 😊
Kind of anti-climatic seeing the end of the wall. Especially the way it was talked about so much in the last few years in the news. I thought of an alternate ending, where I am imagining a guy who can't speak English hammering away there at the end spot yelling at you in Spanish asking if you have some spare nails lol.
I thought eventually you would see hundreds of people flowing across the border😂but imagine that not a single person along the border!! Politics 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@Dragonflylane77 Very true. Just because you don't see them it doesn't mean they're not out there. They know where to cross to be interdicted, then they get the free stuff...no more!

lol 😂
So you have nothing better to do today then to watch and comment on a video that you don't even like? Good grief. 🙃
Interesting, I don't like to watch videos where they don't talk and tell the history about the town. To each his own, I guess.
down thumb

That serendipitous trip down Hwy 85 and finding Rosa's Cantina, proof positive that life is in the journey, not the destination!
Love that ❤️
"The road less travelled"! Thanks for taking us along. Love those back roads but I must confess, I would not have been so brave to take a 20 mile dirt road in such a remote area.

Great video coach! Really enjoyed it!
Thanks so much!
Great job on this one! I just shot a video in the area myself, but of different towns. It's a fascinating area of the country.
Thanks! I had a hard figuring out what to film just east of El Paso - gonna have to go back again someday and take a longer look at that Mission Trail.
Fascinating view of a part of America so few get to experience. Thank you for sharing your travels!
Out of all your videos that I have watched. This is my favorite. Well done Coach.
Such fun! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Holy Mackeral Batman! You were in No-Man's Land. Glad you had no flat tires. Thumbs up!😎👍

Thanks for the advice! On this trip I knew exactly where I was at all times. I just didn’t know how rocky that final road would be.
Did you happen to go by the Rattlesnake bomber base, just south of El Paso on IH 20. It was an old abandoned base that the Enola Gay was temporally stored at after WW II.
Didn’t see it unfortunately!

Fort Quitman cemetery is on the Find a Grave website. List all names.but there are no headstones or grave markers. Very interesting.
Texas Highway 20 also used to be US Hwy 80 before it was decommissioned west of Dallas in 1991.
I quickly referenced those with slides at the beginning - these roads have had many different names.

I live in Carlsbad, NM. I drive roads as bad as these or worse, in a 2 wheel drive PU. Always have good tires, never a problem...yet!

Breakfast with the Wiseguy. Where will he take us today? Does it really matter? Can’t wait to tag along. Cheers!
☕️ 😊
Curious to know if you ran into any Border Patrol and if so, did they warn you of the dangers of smugglers in that remote area? 👍
Are you sure this isn't an outtake from No Country for Old Men?
