I struggle so much to give my dog the same attention i did before because it was nonstop before & now with my autistic/adhd son that needs CONSTANT care to keep from getting hurt, & the fact that im a single disabled mom whos drowning in stress & heartache because of everything my children & my dog have to go through/go without is just too much,.. 😔 my poor girl deserves so much better,.. while i was pregnant, i was too sick to care for her properly & then ever since my son turned like 2 2 1/2 years ago, ive been too busy & stressed & anxious to love on her much at all,.. ill literally never forgive myself for it, & once she passes away (shes getting older but hopefully itll be years & years), ill cry & get physically sick over it all every night for years & every week for the rest of my life, just like i do now over my cat that had to live through the beginning of my disability… i swear i know better than to go buy an animal but they were both rescues, my cat was a homeless kitten & it was winter & i wasnt so bad off especially then, & my dog is a pit bull that was being starved & abused by someone I knew & she was scared of everyone but me & i was still a pretty good mama to her until i got worse & my son got worse,.. 😢 Something is wrong with her ear right now & it could be bad & i cant afford to take her to the vet, im already only eating every couple of days to get my kids what they need because it was the only thing left i could cut out,.. sorry for this comment, im autistic & trauma dump sometimes,.. if anyone knows of any organization that could help me help my dog though, please let me know🫶 her ear tip is like limp & cant raise up anymore & her veins in her ear are sticking out & are rock hard,.. now that im typing it out, it seems even worse… 💔
@@roundsdm Your best bet will be contacting a no kill rescue and asking if they have resources. Your state or county humane society may also have links to organizations that can help you. But ultimately, to get her care, you may have to surrender her to a rescue organization. As much as that will hurt you, the other option may be the pain she is in continuing and existing until she dies (possibly from whatever is wrong with her ear). Sometimes the hardest thing to do as an owner is acknowledge you are not the right home anymore, even if you were the right home at one time, and to allow your animal to be cared for by someone else who is the right home now.

I am the opposite. I have no puppy pictures of my girl but a lot with her as an adult. I prefer full-grown dogs over puppies anyway, lol. She is my favorite child.

Best way to make sure your kids love animals is to love animals in front of them. One of the few things my parents got right!
