That's excellent training material, though I agree there's a mistake. The NCI should be either 40,000 (200,000 x 20%), or the wording should be changed to "The fair value of Jones's *_remaining_* equity share was 200,000 at acquisition".
I am going to appear for CIMA MCS exam and these lectures of group accounts from FA and FR have taught me group accounting in the best possible way than CIMA's own material from CIMA F2... Kudos and much appreciation 👍
