I really enjoy your style. Please consider more YT content as you redecorate and make this beautiful home your own. We are here for it!
I'm going to aim for one a week! 🤍 Thank you so much!
I’m so excited for this chapter on your channel! Something about watching the process that I just love.
Love your style!
What a lovely, warm canvas you have to create your style. I can’t wait to see much more.
Either a chase or open day bed might be a nice addition to the dining room. It is lovely and reminds me of the sunroom we practically lived in living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was off our kitchen and family room and definitely other than for sleeping formed the most important and practical part of our home. The light and seeing outside when it generally was cold made such a difference. You will be much warmer, but the light, soaring ceiling, and outside view will make this a significantly enjoyable space. Lovely home and great buys. Thanks for sharing
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! After seeing what you did with your place in manhattan I have been dying to see what you'll do with a whole house and yard.
Thanks for a lovely video😊
I would put the breakfast table closer to the camera and put two comfortable seats with a side or coffee table in the back, next to the big window, sort of caffe vibe😊
Thank you for this!! Going to try that layout out!
Exactly what I thought when I saw the dining table close To the windows. Love the built-in idea
Gorgeous!!!! Can’t wait to follow along with your decorating journey! In our first home we had an eat-in kitchen nook and i turned it into a cozy sitting area and it was everyone’s favorite spot to hang out while i cooked. Personally i would pull the table in the room more towards kitchen and get a settee and a chair or two with small end tables for cozy lighting. You will use that space ALL THE TIME!! Coffee, tea, reading, meal preps, friends and family hanging out as you cook! Can’t wait to see what you do
I was thinking the same thing!!

I’d turn the dining table and move it towards the opening of the room. Then turn the window area into a lounge reading nook. That being said you have beautiful style. 😊
Thank you for the idea!!
Kimberley...l agree that the dining room should have a sofa near the window. It's got such a lovely atmosphere it would be a shame not to use it more. Maybe a cabinet at the dark end for glasses and china, tablecloths etc. What a beautiful window 🙂
I've been waiting for this video ...been checking UA-cam several times a week to see if you'd posted anything. Your style is very much like what I grew up with in Virginia. My mother's antique furniture from her family remind me so much of the things you are finding on the fabulous Facebook Marketplace in your area. What a wonderful resource for you !! This home is going to be beautiful and I can't wait to see what you do in the bedroom. Why not make the empty area in the dining room a little reading area, with a comfy but not too big chair and the built-ins you were talking about. You are in such a beautiful time in your life, a toddler, a new home to make your own and a lot of exciting things to look forward to. I know you will enjoy all of it. I miss that time in my life and really enjoy getting the chance to share all of this with you. Thanks for taking all of us along on this happy journey. Have a wonderful week !!
Ahh yes, that is a great idea and what I’m leaning towards. It would be great to have a little chaise lounge if it fits there.
and thank you so much for watching and checking in! I'll try to aim for one new one a week this year! And I agree about this time of life... it feels very fleeting and special being a parent to a toddler while starting a new beginning!
Love seeing the process of you decorating your new home. Concerning the multi-function dining area: Have you considered moving the table closer to the kitchen, orienting it the long way, and adding swivel chairs or reading chairs by the window? Great coffee spot!
Thank you for the ideas!!
Bring the table forward and put the green chair in the window area with the lamp and lemon tree. You’ll want easier access to the table for meals and have lovely window light for reading on the green chair.
Your new house is gorgeous! The neighborhood is perfect.
Your videos bring such joy to me. I am so excited that you are generously sharing your decorating journey with us. Your home has all the lovely details and architectural features to make it a fresh palette for you to use your talents. It is such a warm, inviting home-I can see that already. I love the neighborhood, the trees, and the windows bringing in all that light! I am so happy for you and your family. Having that one of a kind store nearby is a gift for sure -I would be in there weekly. And your penchant for finding bargains on FB marketplace! Wow, scoring big time! All perfect additions for your home. Looking forward to enjoying the journey. Blessings from Texas!
Thank you so much!! 🥰
I simply love your home. Thank you for taking me along on your journey and decorating it. Blessings.
I absolutely love your channel. Thank you for bringing us with you to your new home. I'm so looking forward to see how you style it.
Thank you so much for being here! ❤
Loved the pieces you found on marketplace. Such wonderful finds!
Oh my goodness, those Antique pieces are GORGEOUS!!!! 💚💚💚💚. Your Home already looks so warm, cozy and inviting!! More Videos please!!! 😃😃😃😃
Thank you so much!
Welcome back to NC, thank you for sharing your adventure on YT, I 💕 your decorating style, if you are in Raleigh, stop by Hunt and Gather, they have lots of well loved items, wishing you and your family a blessed New Year 🙏
Ahh yes I love Hunt & Gather! We have been 3 or 4 times since moving back.
Where is the store that you went to?? I also love to go to Green front!
I saw a Sam Cooke vinyl in your stuff and immediately knew you have good taste.
Love love love love you’re home
Place is beautiful, you’ll have so much fun decorating, Dining/Library as always a good multi use room, especially if your going to do floor to ceiling bookcase/shelves.
SO happy to see your video. I bet its super cool just to open your front door and have an amazing front porch and the beautiful outdoors waiting for you!
Amazing home can’t wait to see what you do with each room!! Thanks for sharing your journey ❤
There are an inordinate amount of architectural nuances to your Home that I cannot wait to see how you work with decoratively, Shelby. Like you, I was a 90s child and the structure of your Home reminds me of the Family Home I grew up in, which had been built in 1994...in a few ways. I have always adored window nooks/window seats. That guest room will be lovely for those you are welcoming to stay! One thing I have never had in a home but truly wished I did is an elegant Oval-shaped window! That window in your background was absolutely enchanting. Such an idyllic detail! Your wallpaper selection for your Primary Bedroom is quite intriguing. Elegance is always at the center of my decor initiatives, as well. Yet, finding a way to implement stylistic Elegance without one's Home appearing stuffy, cold, and museum-like is both an art and a challenge! It is imperative for a Home to look and feel lived-in, cozy, and inviting. If you and TJ are cultivating a joyful Home with the consistent presence of Loved-ones, and Sam Cooke records playing in the background, then I sense your living space will strike that balance nearly perfectly. 🖤
Aww thank you for such a thoughtful comment! You are absolutely right about walking a fine line between elegance and stuffy-ness. Hopefully I can stay on the side of elegance. Sam Cooke always helps with that 🥰
That dining room table is AMAZING!
I love your style, and I often thought to myself , what could she do with a house!? Now I get to see! So exciting! Looking forward to it all!
Oh I just love your style 😍😍 So timeless! The wallpaper in the foyer is amazing and unique, you don’t see that color often! You styled it so well!
Thank you so much 😀
Shelby, I am so happy for you! Your home is gorgeous. I cannot wait to watch you make it your own.
Love the new house! If you’re interested, I have a similar dining area/ sunroom in our kitchen. Except, it has 3 walls of windows. I have 2 swivel chairs with a table between them in front of the back windows and my dining table closer to the kitchen. It is kind of the reverse of what you were thinking. I keep plants in the back corners. It is my favorite place in the whole house. I sit there every morning with my coffee and I can swivel around to look out the windows. That’s just how I set it up - I’m sure whatever you decide will be beautiful because you have such a great eye.
Ahh that sounds so cozy!!
So glad all is going well for you in your new home and everyone is getting settled. Can’t wait to see all your decorating plans…My parents bought a (my mother’s Uncle & Aunt) dining room set years ago and the hutch you are putting in the entry way was one of the pieces she had with the set…there was also a glass cabinet…the set was given to my son some years back and still in the family…the hutch held napkins, silverware, table clothes and a fitted table pad cover so hot items didn’t mess up the finish on the table, which I’ve never seen one till my mom brought home that dining room set. 👍💕🙏😊🐾
Ahh wooow! I love that piece so much!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing this new experience with us. I was on an historic home tour once a long time ago and the tour guide said dining rooms always had a slightly tilted down mirror across from the hostess chair. This is so she could observe when her guests were finished with the course then ring the little bell so that servants could clear for next course. Since then, I always look out for the mirror on house tours, and I see it every time. I have one in my dining room, but it is not directly opposite me, no bell, no servants. Candles on a beautifully table setting reflect - artful ambience.
Your home is going to be fabulous!
That chandelier is so beautiful! It made me think of "Everafter" which is one of my favorite movies. So excited to watch you decorate this gorgeous home!
Your new home is Lovely, Shelby!🫶🏻
Beautiful house, can hardly wait, to see you turn it into , your home!! I love antique furniture too. Love, ❤️ ❤that bed, as well as the table. Love your style. tfs 🥰👵🏽👍🏾
I wanted to add that built-in floor to ceiling shelving/cabinets in the dining room would be amazing. It would be such a great way to showcases books, dishes, decorative items. You could make it so that the shelves could be adjusted to accommodate changing decor or themes. I would add in some closed cabinets as well to break up the design and make it more interesting. Cabinet doors with glass in them to mirror the window design. You could even have your coffee bar designed into this. Think of the decorating possibilities at the holidays and the seasons!
Agree! Loved what you did with your NYC apt. Looking forward to what you create with your new home.
Can’t wait to see you transform your new abode into something magical
Beautiful home, I'm jealous, LOL!!! Love the wallpaper in the foyer!!! And, oh my, LOVE the wallpaper you picked for the bedroom!! And this is coming from someone that rarely likes wallpaper! As for your dining nook, I would pull the table closer to the kitchen and put a tiny table with a lamp against the windows with a chair on either side, such as comfy wingbacks. Makes a nice morning coffee spot or you can pull the chairs up to the ends of the table when you need more seating! Trust me, having the table closer to the windows come summer will be toasty!! That's a lot of sunlight!! Love the idea of putting a tall built-in against that wall, it will add a lot of character and storage! Glad you didn't get the flu, I was not so lucky! My hubby's entire office came down with it and had to work from home, and so he ended up giving it to me! You are right, takes forever to get over it!!
Thank you so much for the ideas!!
Love your beautiful home, it has so much charm. Thank you for sharing with us the guest room with it’s recessed windows and light filled dining room with its big arched window and the beautiful market place finds. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation of your home room by room. I love your style and have no doubt that each room will be perfection.❤
Im so happy to see you back on.I love your new home so much. That is the perfect lamp shade choice. The dresser set up is now perfect.🙂❤
What a beautiful store! You found a gem in your neighborhood. Love the entry way. I can’t wait to see how you decorate the rest of the house. Antique shopping on FB is the latest for all the online content creators … I am happy you found fb as your new tool also.
I'm familiar with the Durham area because my aunt and uncle moved there when I was 18 ( now 69) and I was a frequent visitor. The pictures of the neighborhood you've shown remind me so much of the neighborhood they lived in. I remember the red clay and pine needles and always having to take shoes off in the mudroom. They also had a beautiful St. Bernard and Pearl reminds me of her. I'm so excited to see what you guys do with the house and the Facebook marketplace finds are gorgeous. I can see your in your element. It's a big house so take your time to fill it up because it's yours and not a rental with a lease. Nice feeling isn't it. Glad everyone is settling in nicely.
Thank you so much!! We will definitely be taking our time to get things in order.
I can't believe some of the amazing finds you got! Your front entrance is beautiful, I love the way you decorate
I love the new home feeling. We lived in North Carolina for a year. My little family is going home to Indiana in June and can not wait. Loved North Carolina so much, though. You've inspired me so much. I am looking forward to being in a new house again and making it our own. ❤
Aww I hope your move in June goes great!
I know whatever you do will be beautiful, but I was thinking - What if you moved dining table to the front and put seating/lounge area by the window? The view is gorgeous and you’ll be able to set table and bring food in without having to pass through lounge area. You’re going to have so much fun decorating your new home. I’m so glad you’re taking us along. So happy for you and your family, and of course, for Pearl! She finally has her dream yard. 🩷
Ahh thank you for the idea!!
I live in the Charlotte area but I’m in Raleigh a ton! Thank you for sharing the name of this Gem of a shop you’ve found! I’m going to have to check it out next time I come up! I LOVE your channel and I just happened upon it and now I’ve binge watched all of your videos and can’t wait until more come out! I love decorating and your style is so similar to mine!
Ahh yes, it’s a must if you are in the area! It’s in downtown Apex!
That room with the huge arched window, skylights and French doors is so gorgeous! I can’t wait to see how you will decorate that space
Have been a loyal follower since you guys moved to NYC and am so excited for this new chapter!!! ❤
UA-cam recommended me a tour of your NY apartment a few weeks ago and suddenly I'm halfway through putting up picture frame molding in my new house because you inspired me so much. Can't wait to see what you do in the new space!
Ahh that’s amazing! I hope it turns out great!
WOW. BEAUTIFUL Dinning table and chairs.
Love your new house. Love your decorating style ♥️
I would suggest two chairs with a table between and it can be used for sitting and reading have coffee. The tub chair at table to small. Beautiful room
I enjoy your style so much. You are an inspiration to me. I appreciate you sharing your family and your new home. I know I said it before but I just can’t wait to see what you are doing next.♥️
First let say how gorgeous ur home is, the lighting is phenomenal ,in addition the bones of ur home will make itt easy to decorate due to ur style. I could have stayed in that store all day long. Pearl seems to b enjoying her new found freedom. Congrats guys!
Excited for you and excited to go through the decorating process with you! love the idea of a built-in in the dining area and adding a couple of reading chairs would look good? Dining, reading and music!!
So fun to see your new space come together. Excited that you have allowed us along for the journey! Thank you!
Brooks is adorable - always wanting to help out. Your home is beautiful.
Your home is so beautiful! You and your family look so happy. Brooks is growing up so nicely, what a handsome little boy. A month in and Pearl probably still doesn't know what to do with all of that room she has! NYC is a fantastic place, but, it will be a fond, distant memory really soon!
Hi, I am one of those people who avoids commenting, but. . . .I love the dining room and that window, so fabulous. I wonder if
a built-in would make the area seem smaller. You have great taste in antique furniture, the table is perfect and the entire entryway is warm and inviting. Love that French store, everything. Sweet place to inspire all of us.
I am glad you commented! I like to read comments as much as the videos. It is more life and people to the party! Best of everything to all!
Thank you for your comment!! The built in probably won’t come out too far so I hope it doesn’t make the room feel smaller!
Place a sofa bench or settee near window and move tbl closer to entryway side of dining room. Or ,leave table where it is and add a writing desk/ vintage chair nook
Love what you've done
Love that idea for your dining room to have double purpose . Having a built in and lounge area with all those windows sounds so welcoming and usable. Cant wait to see what you do.
I hope you continue to upload videos throughout this whole journey!
WOW! What a beautiful home. I'm so excited to see what you do with it. The windows are so pretty. Congratulations.
I am really looking forward to seeing everything you do to your beautiful new home. I loved the aesthetic in your New York home, so this is going to be fun watching your style unfold in a new place. :)
I can’t wait to see how you decorate your new home! Love everything you do and want to see more!!!
Wow I love it all… the house, the Facebook market finds and you showing us how you’re putting it together. Thank you for sharing 💗. I am so happy for you all 🥰
You are so talented and you have such great taste. You inspire me to buy things second hand ❤
I subscribed to you right before your move! I absolutely love your style and I’m hoping we see a lot of decorating videos! Love your new home!! 😊
Thank you so much!! 🥰
Try reorienting the table. It might give you the extra width.
Dining room thought.. 🤔 two conversational chair in front of the beautiful windows. That would require moving the table a little to the center of the room where you had open space. Maybe a serving table too! 🤔🤔😙
For the dining room, I would pull the dining table forward and have a cozy reading/sitting area next to the window!
I would actually move the table up to that blank space and then create a sitting area, 2 chairs with table in between right next to the windows...very cozy!
I just found your channel and love it so much. You’re a breath of fresh air. Love your style and rooting for your families new adventure.
Congratulations on your beautiful home 🏡 a reading corner (nook) with built in 📚
Thank you!! 😊
Oh, wow! Your new place has such good features. It looks beautiful already. Can't wait to see what you do with it. And that French store....so jealous!
Love your home. So many characteristics. Have fun making it your style. I will subscribe to your channel.
Thanks so much! 😊
What great pieces you've found! You really know how to find the best of the best! ❤
Oh boy!!! Thank you for the video. I am sooooooo happy for you, your new home, and free reign to decorate....FUN! Looking so beautiful already.
Congratulations on your beautiful home!!! Pearl is such a gorgeous dog.
Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness! I just love your new home and watching you and your beautiful family fill it with love!
Beautiful home - very much looking forward to seeing how you style it! I don't know if many people know this but for scratches in older woods be it furniture or flooring if you break a walnut open and rub the oil from it into the scratch it blends with the rest of the wood and it becomes barely noticeable :) x
Ahhh thank you for the tip!
I truly loved what you did with your apartment. I can’t wait to see what you do with your new home!!!!! #soexcited
Loved the canopy bed! How creative ! I really enjoyed it😊
I was so excited to see a new video. You inspire me in my decorating.❤
Great video.
I can’t believe the awesome things you’re finding on FB , love your style!
Absolutely Beautiful. You have a BEAUTIFUL home.❤
You are finding such beautiful things on FB marketplace! I’m so happy for you. You will make this home just lovely.
A poofy loveseat to have your morning tea/coffee 🫶
The home is beautiful and your style is beautiful.
That bed is such a great find. I love it. So is the dining room table.
You asked for thoughts about that dining room.
My idea would be to pull the table setting forward and put two deep cozy chairs, or a lounge and a chair back by the window, with a low side table between. It wound be a great place to sit by the big window. On the down side it might clutter up the look of the table setting against the window, so you’d have to try it out.
Good luck with all your plans. I love it!
Thank you!!
So glad I found you I loved the way you did your NY apartment and now I can’t wait to see what you do to your new home. And Congratulations to you and your family
Thank you!!! I’m glad you found me too!
Just a suggestion is to make a a formal dining room. A build in would be good but how lovely would it be to find on FB marketplace a beautiful hutch or China cabinet to display your fine China!!! The whole room should be dedicated to just being a formal dining room. Place the table the order way around in the middle of the room.
Thank you for the idea!!
We are so happy for you sweet friend! Congratulations on your new home!
Oh my goodness, what a lovely home. I cannot wait to watch your ideas come to be. That breakfast room, you could have some lovely cozy chairs and small side tables, maybe a fireplace on the one wall. And builtins all around it. What a beautiful bright room. Those windows, and that glass door. Gorgeous. You have the same taste that I do. That wallpaper is gorgeous. I love all shades of green. God Bless.
Thank you!! Those are great ideas!!
Beautiful home with great bones !! What fun for your creativity to bloom anew 👍🏽🙋🏽♀️
Your marketplace finds are gold!!! Seriously, they’re so amazing! I love your style
I love your sweet entry! The wallpaper, the checkered flooring and all of your gorgeous windows including your front door. It’s all so good! I can’t wait to see what you do with it all. Ps. FBM was my obsession to when I first bought my home.
Hi..from Toronto. I love your new house, it's beautiful. You have lovely taste and a great color sense. The French shop you were in was so nice. I went to flea markets in PARIS and stuffed my suitcases too!.Really looking forward to seeing all that you do. I wish you and your family many happy years in your new home.
My first nephew started called my dad Bop instead of Pop when he was first talking. He’s now 6 and my other nephew is 3. We now all refer to my dad as Bop. It’s adorable 🥰
Oh my gosh I LOVE that they kept calling him that! ❤
I absolutely love your home ❤
Two arched bookcases would look beautiful in the dining room .
I recently discovered you and binge-watched to catch up. I love love love your style. So excited and happy for your family with the move and new home. I cannot wait to see everything you do. That diningroom window is gorgeous! You have such a knack for scoring really nice pieces. You got me obsessed with your fireplace surrounds.
Glad you found me!!!
