But I like V gameplay wise prior to the last set
i remember the mechanic change it was kinda confuse at 1st then i just adapted to it. I love the V series anime but that about it i don't play much at the time.
At first i actually liked V. Sure it had its problems like the different base powers for different marker clans, but as V kept going the problems with it kept getting worse. After we got Force 2, Accel 2, and Protect 2, the game become really bad for me. You could really tell how a lot of decks started to feel the same and the power creep kept getting worse and worse. Certain clans also got way more support than other, the biggest offender being Shadow Paladin. I still have some fond memories of V, but i can acknowledge that it was not a very good format.
Being a fan of Vanguard since 2012 its crazy to think how V series came in and i still loved the game/anime. I actually have the Vanguard EX game for PS4 that was Japan exclusive that my buddy shipped to the states for me. I had to memorize what deck i wanted to play and their mechanics (Shadow Paladin)

A lot of the issues with V are down to: - People wanted reasons to be mad from the onset - People not actually testing formats, causing "tier 0" formats where other decks could keep up (This is not me saying no bad formats exist, but significantly fewer than you'd think listening to most people) - Late V likely being designed specifically to push people away from the format (The card design relative to the format is incredibly similar in the final ~6 months of V, as it was in G, and not far off from Legion era card design, so there is precedent for this) Honestly, the format had a lot of highlights, but I can't speak a ton to the state it's in now, since I fell out of the game early into D. I think that if people were more open-minded, and actually thought for themselves instead of hearing X deck was tier 0 and believing it, the format would've been enjoyed a lot more. The era had 10 or so supposed "tier 0" formats, most of which were simply down to a lack of actual testing. Card design itself didn't end up being that much more extreme than G either, but over time V cards would come to largely take the place of old cards for various reasons. Overall, V was a much better format than many remember it is, but certainly not without flaws.

I specially like how Kagero have the Vanguard focus but still be able to put Blademaster and Lawkeeper in the same deck, or build a pure Vanguard focus with Overlord going Solo with Blazing Flare as 2nd options. Theres also Narukami going crazy with the Accels, i remember building the Break Dragons [Armor Break & Thunder Break] using Eradicator as backup and having some of Vanquisher's supports, going crazy with 5 attacks with a 5crit Vanguard and 2 to 3 PG restrict. I still don't know why bunch of OG & D players just hate, i'm aware its somewhat broken but it's still better cause you can mix your deck with a bunch of unpredictable smashes and your opponent sometimes cannot tell what you got comming next, the curent D format have really low flexibility being stuck with the support of whatever cardname u got and it become somewhat pridictible and boring, cause your playstyle is stuck there, I remember something about someone putting Phantom Blaster & Luard in the same deck and it became really broken (which broke the game) but thats it after they put choice restrictions, I still don't get wtf is wrong with D & OG players these days.

The answer they gave us was a simple one, they were going to ignore the restrictions and make it so you can get multiple markers on a single turn via superior rides/effects and even being able to use multiple types of imaginary gifts.
V is still my favorite era. I've never been to a tournament or anything for vanguard, but i loved the original series show and made a couple decks in case I ever did (huge fan of the bermuda triangle and nightmare dolls). First deck was the gold rutile one from the like, 2nd/3rd season, I think? Lost interest after they added the markers and such as well as the double-reboots, but hey, still like the game. I recall the only card i sincerely wanted the most was the mermaid zeroth dragon XD, so i'd say Z was it for me
Okay I am a player who played the game during the Break Ride Era of Zero. I am wanting to return to the game myself actually but there are no players where I live. As in absolutely nobody to play with. No locals or anything. I am the only player. That’s why I have been playing Dear Days to keep up with the game. I watch the anime episodes live on air as well. You might even be able to see some of my comments as those were being aired. But besides all of that. I have been having some difficulty finding a deck for me myself. I used to play Deletors and Ancient Dragons a lot back in the day. I loved those decks. Deletors restricting what my opponents could do to put them into near unwinnable situations. The explosive combos that Tachikaze has which Ancient Dragons. I miss those decks a lot. I want them to return via encounter decks. My first ever deck was Eradicators and honestly I am shocked (pun very much intended) that they didn’t get an encounter deck yet. As for that pun. If you do not intend your puns then you are a coward. Intend your puns! I want to find a deck that is similar to Deletors and Ancient Dragons. One that sacrifices their own rearguards to either debilitate their opponents to slow them down or to go extremely aggressive. I have played almost every deck in every nation in Dear Days One. But none of them really stuck with me. Right now I am playing Megalonozuchi. Strong deck but it just got hit hard on the ban list from what I saw. The best grade 2 in the deck got restricted. And for a deck that relies on having duplicate cards that’s a death sentence. I also tried playing every stride deck so far that is in that game. I also wouldn’t mind playing a deck similar to Revengers specifically Raging Form Dragon. Probably my favorite unit from that entire clan. I also have played stuff like Drajeweled since it reminds me of Deletors. Having the high cost in exchange for a high payoff suits me I think. But then there is my time playing PBO. I often take out my opponents on turn 2 with that deck somehow. It just doesn’t seem fair to me. The reason why I am mentioning these things is because I want to have somebody recommend a deck for me to try out. I haven’t settled on my own deck yet and have been looking for quite a while now. I am in a similar boat to Igni right now. That’s why I am asking. To anyone who has read this far into my incoherent ramblings, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to actually try to understand me.

Would love to see you experience the original anime series, or maybe even make review on it and see its evolution the the current state of vanguard now
I got back to Vanguard when V series is almost ended and tbh they really have a lot of interesting cards design. Its just that the power creep is too much when the main expansion is going. The Clan Selection is where they really goes nut on designning cards Edit: They also made a "PG" Crit later on in the series which are just a 30k shield that technically a PG because there's no oT back then. Also damn I need those Accel 2 for my Nova deck frfr

I didnt watch the video yet, but if we're talking about the anime, then yes, it's really bad except for the Shinemon Arc imo But if we're talking about the game, V era es one of the best, here where i live, even though we know D era exist, still playing V era xd
Clans > nations, if they made everything generic i wouldve love nations but everything is name restricted anyways so I’m now waiting even longer than when we had clans for support for the decks i want to play
I think the problem with V's power creep was that there were little to no restrictions on what cards can do like there was with Limit Break, Break Ride, Stride, Legion. I think Imaginary Gift should have been only obtained when your opponent is G3 and some boss unit skills should be online only if your opponent is G3. Like in the first set Dragonic Waterfall and Imperial Daughter had a strong skill that could only be used if you ride on top of a G3 so there was a delay to it so you can't immediately curb stomp your opponent before they hit G3. Also generating imaginary gifts as a skill was a mistake smh.
14:02 Nations is a wayyy better system, basically for everything you guys were saying; it sucked maining one clan and then not getting support in every box
I knew V would be bad when I say the mechanics they introduced. It's almost impossible to make a game gimmicky without ruining the anime. Same thing happened with Yugioh.
My introduction to vanguard happened during the V series. While powercreep was definitely a serious problem (if there was a rule where you could only generate 1 marker per turn that alone would truly have fixed the balance), not having seen any of the retrained units before gave me the benefit of really enjoying the cards since i didnt have their old forms to compare for effects or lack of brand new cards
Dk why they kept premium. It made sense the early days of D since it was hit or miss for most. But after so many sets and ridelinea, not to mention diminishing release of premium products. Just get rid of the v format altogether
@@masterace9543 They ended V format? Premium isn't V and the game didn't reach premiums level in standard. Both in power level and in player choice. A deck most of time has one gameplan and the player does the same turn until they the game ends. We don't have ways to activate skills while defending. Blitz orders only give more shield while guarding. There are G guardians in premium that change the game. They make players choose different routes instead of just attacking with everything every turn.
Honestly people forget the V series actually comes from the Cardfight vanguard manga and the episodes after Volume 12 are anime original but IF is one of the worst seasons produced during that time
V sorta power crept a little too fast, it did streamline a lot of thing and even helped to revamp some older cards but man was it painful. Everything went so fast even my Deletors and Messiah weren't able to keep up with all of the stuff going on.
V era started off fine, but accel markers were a joke. V era speedran powercreep and force &accel marker 2 was a mistake End of V era after the game was too far gone and bushiroad was woefully incompetent, started releasing amazing sets bringing old decks into V but refused to nuked the 3 broken decks and so the format was murdered. Gifts were a mistake, almost like D format itself. Going from clans to nations ruined this game from both its unique identity to making the game stupid expensive to play. Its really sad to see what this game has become.
I’ve been rewatching the original series and I’m shocked how the animation holds a lot better than the V anime reboot series. The quality is just really good, and the pacing is just better.
Accel was a mistake and then they rebooted right before a pandemic yeah. I'm glad D is doing better these days because I thought we weren't coming back from that when the pandemic and reboot got vanguard dropped from all the vanguard stores in my area. Closest one is 3 hours from me now.
V was good.. Only IF was a bit.. Meh... And Shin arc creates a lot of HOLE.. Change most decks.. I knew it followed the manga but.. Come on.. The arc should've go with Q4> Deletors > Asia/World Tour > G.... They could create a badass lore for Cray but failed for the earth counterpart.. Just follow cray lore would go🔥..

8:17 you mean rive shindou the dad of chrono
Yeah the issue with v my opinion is the markers
I knew V would be bad when I say the mechanics they introduced. It's almost impossible to make a game gimmicky without ruining the anime. Same thing happened with Yugioh.
Not only bushi wanted it to be a failure but also the people because of the imaginary gifts markers🤷
V the sole reason why Vanguard of today got severely handicapped
But let's be honest to ourselves here. Bushiroad is trying their hardest to kill premium.
Honestly people forget the V series actually comes from the Cardfight vanguard manga and the episodes after Volume 12 are anime original but IF is one of the worst seasons produced during that time
I miss zero😢
V sorta power crept a little too fast, it did streamline a lot of thing and even helped to revamp some older cards but man was it painful.
Everything went so fast even my Deletors and Messiah weren't able to keep up with all of the stuff going on.
V era started off fine, but accel markers were a joke.
V era speedran powercreep and force &accel marker 2 was a mistake
End of V era after the game was too far gone and bushiroad was woefully incompetent, started releasing amazing sets bringing old decks into V but refused to nuked the 3 broken decks and so the format was murdered.
Gifts were a mistake, almost like D format itself. Going from clans to nations ruined this game from both its unique identity to making the game stupid expensive to play.
Its really sad to see what this game has become.
RIIIIIGGGGGED
Actually there’s 24 clans
I’ve been rewatching the original series and I’m shocked how the animation holds a lot better than the V anime reboot series. The quality is just really good, and the pacing is just better.
V started off great until they started going away from the anime and doing more G reboot decks.
The G era is what killed the V era. Fricken loved everything that came out until those ffffffuceers
1:42 Infinideity = Infidelity LMFAO
V luard, enough said
Accel was a mistake and then they rebooted right before a pandemic yeah. I'm glad D is doing better these days because I thought we weren't coming back from that when the pandemic and reboot got vanguard dropped from all the vanguard stores in my area. Closest one is 3 hours from me now.
If you ask me, V is like 70% premium is toxic as hell.
the only good season in V was the Shin Arc.
V isn't real
V was never balanced Just look ott in vbt01😂😂😂
V series killed my locals, as well as many others from what I've heard...
I feel you.
