    I really like the effort Proton's put into the Iriz. To come out so strong in the way they engineered the handling is something that's no easy feat to achieve, and it's great they were able to get that mix of comfort and great steering feel in the car. Even if it's not the cheapest in its category, I don't think there's much to argue as to just how much features are packed into this little gem compared with its rivals'.

    I am an owner of Axia AT and Saga FLX MT.
    This morning: After nearly 2 months driving my Axia AT to work, today I just wanted to try out back my Saga FLX MT and I seriously cannot admit that the proton comfort and handling is more and better compared to perodua. The feel when driving proton which as we know as Lotus Handling is very enjoyful and lots of comforts.
    Bear in mind, my Saga is just 33k (SV model) but my Axia is 42k (Adv. version).
    This is the true fact about Perodua & Proton car when talking about driving and handling.

      Agreed,even though iriz got pretty bad cvt but perodua still cant beat proton in terms of driving experience.

    Iriz MT 1.6 Exec is the best purchase in my life so far. Handling is fun and the car is stable even at 180km/h, not like some Japan brand car I test-drove and vibrates like a boat even at 110km/h. Good job Proton but there's lot of room for improvements! You guys can do it!

    It's consider unfair to compare a vehicles which is in different segment.. Axia and Picanto are in segment A whilst Iriz in segment B.... Based on my experience.. test drive the Iriz, its size infact bigger than Myvi.

  • @babisotonggg

    Well i glad i buy iriz 1.3 MT but for those who got less money, single and drive normally like normal people just take axia, worth your money because of the eco mode.. and for those who like to drive fast but got less modal like me, take iriz 1.3 MT(it's enough to satisfy your needs) but remember the rattling noise folk(which most of the cases it cannot be fix 'Just bear with it').. Peace no war...
    Sorry for my poor english....

    • @fad0881
      @fad0881 8 років тому +6

      Axia don't have eco mode. It's only an indicator. I "had" to buy axia bcause of the FC. Not rly fun to drive as what they said. If only Iriz have that kind of FC.

      My mom got the 1.3 AT Exec one. The rides is great when it was cruising through the city traffic but yes the dashboard starts to vibrates under harsh condition. Overtaking a car feels heavy on the CVT. Other than the sluggish AT and the interior rattling, I do think it is fun to drive and worth its price tag.

    • @babisotonggg
      @babisotonggg 8 років тому +1

      yup.. i recently rent axia to drive for 3 days 2 night and well, it's not as bad as what people say, it's worth the price 20k+ and iriz MT is the best choice, go for it.. but if you got extra money, go for jazz.. just my 2cent

    I'd like to say that the Proton Iriz has been a joy to drive. I've got myself the 1.6L Premium CVT variant and I don't have much to complain about. Though, it could improve in areas such as the infotainment system and the gearbox. The handling is simply amazing. I would definitely recommend to get the manual over the CVT. In short; it's a great small car for it's price. Cheers to Proton for making huge improvements with the Proton Iriz!

    there is always a reason that Perodua Axia became the best selling car in Malaysia. who and what kind of people will buy such car in such price range? and what do these people look for in a car? Performance? fun to drive? or just practical, fuel saving and good quality? 3rd for an axia? does the sale figure in the real world reflects this? depends on the criteria again of course. might be 3rd for racers, but 1st for general Malaysians. cheers axia.

    • @batulaut
      @batulaut 8 років тому +10

      +Chong W True, but in many cases the best choice is not always by the majority. What I mean is, a best selling car is not always the best car to choose. They are simply the safest choice and offers the least amount of attention where maintenance is concerned. For many, these are their only concern for a budget car. Plus, majority of buyers are not very knowledgeable about cars, let alone safety aspect of a car. And generally Malaysians don't bother with it.

    if you are looking for an affordable car, yes, axia is not cheerful and bla bla bla, but with rm40 petrol it can go up to 450km on highway, which car in malaysia can do that now?
    no doubt iriz is a better car to drive, but if price is an issue and long term running cost is in mind, look no further, Perodua Axia

  • @kamvinci87
    @kamvinci87 8 років тому

    I do agree what the vid said. i personally find the car is top notch with its comfort in ride. driving hard is also fun with its sharp handling. auto transmission is below average even with CVT standard. car look great from front. but i hate the rear design. fuel consumption - power ratio is good enough.
    What need to be improved :
    1. dash board design is nice but lack premium feels.
    2. CVT give you the feeling that car is a bit less powerful that it is.
    3. rear design.

  • @IanNg
    @IanNg 8 років тому

    guys, should have done a boot size comparison, cos the axia claims to have biggest boot size in it's class, bigger than the myvi.
    also, seems like axia fuel consumption drops quite far from the EEV levels under less than optimum conditions, although still the highest amongst the three cars.

    Well as i can see i agree with the review as Safety is the top priority, i know Proton have bad reputation and stuff but lets just say that it doesn't matter whether the equipment will properly continue to work for the next few years or not, because is better to have it there than not have it there at all (i am pointing to you Perodua Myyi)

    • @brightivan
      @brightivan 8 років тому +4

      +funnykenji well unfortunately being the best selling car in Malaysia, perodua can actually take out all the safety features and still sell it like crazy. if something sells so well, why bothered to add stuff to it and increase its cost? if only consumer is wise enough to look at the competition, not just blindly walk into perodua's showroom and get 9 years loan on something that doesnt have ABS.

    I have owned a Toyota Camry, Proton Iswara, Mitsubishi Galant, Daihatsu Charade, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Bluebird, Perodua Kancil previously and I own a Proton Waja 1.6 now. I bought a Perodua Axia G model Manual recently. And you know what ! I am loving my Perodua Axia. And now I understand why Perodua Axia is best selling car in Malaysia. Recently I drove my Perodua Axia to Penang from Kuala Lumpure taking the old road from Selayang to Ipoh and then from Ipoh to Kuala Kangsar via North South Highway and the from K/Kangsar to Penang using the old trunk road. And back from Penang via old road to K/Kangdar and then the North South Highway back to KL. My vedict is that the Perodua Axia preformed with flying colours. Comfort was fairly good for and my wife. (I am 6 foot tall). Fuel economy was beyond my expectation of 20.3 km / ltre. (Doing 90km/hrto 100 km/hr). Power and tourque was pefectly matched for 2 people on board. The 5 speed gear was perfectly matched for a small car with 1000cc engine. Perodua Axia had flabegasted me by giving me suprises after suprises during my driving. Now I have fallen in Love with my Perodua Axia and I would like to thank Perodua for this wonderful experiences. Initially when I bought the car, I thought it was a cheap small car. But I was proven wrong. Once again I like to say thank you to Perodua for producing a wonderful engineering feat !

      +Ryan Rygart Han At least it works... unlike VW's DSG. Oh, and Proton doesn't make transmissions, they have always licensed them from others. Despite the crappy nature of the original Punch CVT2, Proton has been improving it ever since its first implementation in the Saga FLX until the Iriz today. You're welcome to drive a Saga Plus CVT and Iriz 1.3 CVT and see for yourself how much they've re-engineered it... Yes, Proton made a mistake when the partnered with Punch in 2011, but at least they're trying to make amends as best they can.

    Dear Mr. Paul Tan, I like the new guys on the team, Asian and Greg... They seem fluent enough in English and fun too... However, I miss the enthusiasm ad fun of the previous series such as the, Accords and the BMW 316i or the episode with Karamjit Singh and also not forgetting the Honda City episodes... The recent episodes posted, assuming to increase awareness in car technology (Peugeot Diesel episode) and to help individuals in the sub RM50000 market to purchase their cars (Proton Iriz episode) have been a bit boring and dull... Harvinder seems too neutral on the diesel and there's just not enough fun... That said, I enjoyed the AMG episode. :)

    I just bought a 1.3 exe but when I tried to plug in the USB pendrive and play some songs, it kept mentioned USB error. I have tried to use 2gb, 16gb n plug in my phone, but when I plug in my phone, my phone was not even in a charging mode. did anyone know how to solve this?

      hv u send it back to proton?

      I did. but is not to fix this issue. I tried to use my Sony mp3 to play songs n it works, so basically it's just not general USB friendly. for phone I just use the existing USB port. no choice.
