I mean most people still don't consider gd as a rhythm game due to it not testing your rhythm enough. If it were truly to challenge your rhythm it would reward you for being much more in rhythm (rhythm doctor still counts due to the fact that the chart follows the timing signature i believe). I mean sure you could argue that certain levels sync but that doesn't always really equate to a rhythm game. As an example jsab is not considered a rhythm game but is instead a music based bullet hell.
Tldr: it doesn't challenge your rhythm to the point of a rhythm game.

@@user-oy2zg3bt6n music games are games that are "influenced" by music. The music usually adds to the experience and is not the core of it. Rhythm games are games that challenge your rhythm through reaction time and rewards you for being much more rhythmic

1) have much tighter timing windows
2) have much less health (if any)
3) are more demanding with the scores
4) have MUCH harder charts with super complicated patterns and 30 to 40 notes per second at most
