Hip-hop legend MC Lyte to drop first album in 10 years

Hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte, who became the first female rapper to be nominated for a Grammy, the first rap artist to perform at Carnegie Hall and the first female rap artist to earn a gold-certified single, is about to drop her first album in 10 years.

She will completely make this new wave of female rap artists look at themselves very closely. Not that they will care either way but they will have to contemplate a little bit. They will have to ponder the difference between empowerment and exploitation. Just my opinion anyway. WTF do I know?
