The Ongoing Story of Guns N' Roses
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 чер 2017
- A documentary I made on my favourite band for my final project at college.
From the seedy underbelly of California came one of the best rock bands in the world Guns N' Roses. This is the story of the members lives, the band forming, each album they released, the break up, their post break up solo careers, what happened during the gnr vs velvet revolver days and the great reunion tour.

Best Rock band of all time. There will never be another Guns N Roses. Axl's voice was out of this World good.
Dog Mom even if you ignore the dozens and dozens of bands that are better than Guns and Roses, they’re still not the best rock band, pop band, or band in general.
@@peterkrug1975 there’s no such thing as better. Only preference
Pretty amazing
true !!!@@peterkrug1975
Go see a docter to check your ears. Alx whahahahahahahahahahaha
Long live axl the heart and soul of the band he never gave up on it
Fuck Axl! He destroyed one of the coolest bands ever. Trust me I was there and he was and is a giant egotistical asshole! Long live the rest of the band but fuck Axl!
Yeah Jesus bet they all Fulkerson Sheryl at least ten times there
I meant to say fucked yes probly all five them different times amen my lords Shepard
Whahahahaha FOOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is the reason with his ego the band broke up. And the core are Izzy and Slash you fool. Axl is the big loser, the cry baby , need 10 years for a not spacial album. After Izzy left the gnr died. Alx and his bs ego killed the band. Now its only a money grap band with axls horrible voice . He cant sing anymore, after 2006 he was done.
Maybe they should make a movie about the band. Like they did 4 Queen, MercyMe, Elton John, and Motley Crue.
That would be a great movie!👊😎
That would be sick bro.
They should definitely do something like that.
That would be sick bro.
They should definitely do something like that.
Of course they will. Probably Metallica too.
Really wouldn’t be awesome tho it would be more sad and surprising for people who don’t know what their back story is
Support Axl Rose 🌹 the guy was way too misunderstood.
How tum?
I'm convinced be is a big bold beautiful man
What's to understand? He's an arsehole!
Izzy left the rest is history, pretty comical history but comical for all the wrong reasons.
He indeed was and even now he is (look at the comments lol).
He remains a great artist whether we want it or not 👌
Appetite for Destruction is a Hard Rock Masterpiece 🤘🤘
its pop rock commercial garbage, which u obviously dig.
Jerry Muzak are you stupid
Hardly HARD ROCK music!!
These guys opened up for everyone from Motley Crüe to Iron Maiden to Aerosmith to The Cult to Alice Cooper - GNR is Obviously Hard Rock - FYI they also Co- Headlined a Stadium tour with Metallica !!
YOU'RE a Hard Rock Masterpiece.
A band like this only comes around once in a lifetime!!!
and there wont be another band like this, not in this lifetime at least
no
ONLY ONCE IN A LIFE TIME !!! GUNS N ROSES !!!❤❤❤❤ ROCK ON GUYS !!❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊...
I remember seeing this band who I'd heard of, on a pub video juke box playing Sweet Child of Mine. For the first time...and it was one of those moments when the music, the place and time all sync so you're standing there during Slash's lead break thinking 'who ARE these guys' ?
ME TOO !!❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
I can't believe this is the best documentary about GNR on UA-cam. Somebody make one already!
Axl will never go out of style. His voice is one in a million. Despite his age, he can still rock the house down!
Yeah, one in a million alright.
he did 25 years ago
U SAID A MOUTHFULL !!! THEY ARE FANTASTIC EVEN IF THESE GENERATIONS DON'T GET THEM !!!'❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊....
That’s ballsy for Axl to to get up there with a broke foot. He sounds great with ac/dc.
There will never be another be another Guns and Roses!! Just love their love for their music and overall tanisty. I have been one of the millions to "feel" their love!!Thank you Axel, Slash, Duff for keep rocking on!!! God Bless
EXACTLY !!! LOVE FOREVER AXL SLASH DUFF AND MATT !! KEEP ON ROCKING GUYS !!! IT'S FANTASTIC YOU GUYS CAME BACK !!!!❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊.....
AXL YOU SOUND FANTASTIC !! I AM SO HAPPY TO HEAR YOUNG VOICE CAME BACK AFTER THROAT SURGERY !!!❤❤❤😊😊😊.....
If there is just one thing, one wish I could ask of Axl it would be for him to release dozens upon dozens more of the pro shot live concert video footage from both the Use Your Illusion and Appetite for Destruction tours. I would pay a lot of money to be able to see the videos of the shows I went to.
Preach. I saw them open for the Cult in San Diego in 1988, would love to see the concert I missed cause I was hammered.
It's not a music documentary without some British bloke narrating it.
Guns N Roses.... Always be my favourite band...And Axl Rose will be my favourite singer🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤
lil gamer slash the best guitarist
Duff McKagan wrote “It’s So Easy and Other Lies “ which is also a movie. It’s an excellent book; a page-turner!
I enjoyed every second of this. Excellent job putting this together.
Really?! The commentary from this guy is fkn awful! He's just reading from a book really bloody fast, can't even understand half of what he says it's so rushed, I hate it!!! He's so annoying!!
@@biancac9267 The levels are all over the place as well.
I remember when GNR came on the scene, my friends and I were sick of the rock scene, these guys opened the gates for grunge, soundgarden and Alice in chains, it was so magical and amazing time in music history, Guns N Roses were the apitamy of grunge, if you look in a dictionary there was a picture of slash and axle and Chris Cornell with Layne Staley down front baby. We lived ROCK AND ROLL and they were the kings of ROCK AND ROLL.
I agree they were awesome but they were not even close to Grunge musically. I was there as well and that's not an accurate comparison to put Guns in with Grunge bands.
@@shugstobin7331 They were blues based old school Hard Rock 👍👍🤟🏻🤟🏻
😄😄🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣these guys opened the gates for grunge, soundgarden and Alice in chains,🤣🤣😂😂😅 Are you Drunk. Those bands where agains GRN and the fans hated GNR. Serieus are yo udrunk or on drugs
Thank you for posting this. And thank you for watching this !!!!
Tristan, excellent rocumentary !!! Thank you... Well done...
that was one complete history of GNR with never before seen photos. Cheers mate. I love it.
I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks so much
This is a good documentary...really enjoyed it! Made me think of August '92 when I got to see G-n-R and Metallica and Faith No More! Best concert ever!
Name dropper?
Saw that show in Indiana, of course Axl talked shit about his home state!! But still a great show, all 3 bands killed it!!
Jonas Butterworth I seen this concert as well I believe, Metallica opened for GNR and Axle was late and hammered when he did get on stage and was just talking mad shit!
Since I lean more towards alternative, I'm more interested in what it was like to see FNM live in their prime. Care to share, lol..
@James Williams I'm 34 as well.. That's why stories of seeing bands like GnR or FNM intrigues me like old time war stories in almost that same regard.
Great job on the Documentary. Nice that you didn't spend half of it talking about their drug and alcohol use/problems like most do. This is better then the 'Professional" Docs I've seen. If this is your final class project, you've got a great film making career ahead of you!! :)
One of the better documentaries I've seen on GnR...keep up mate you definitely do nice work.😎😎😎
Saw them here in St. Louis last summer. Expected them to go through the motions get their money and split. Nothing was further from that, they kicked ass for three hours. Best show I've ever been to and that says a lot when you consider some of my all time concerts where Aerosmith, KISS, Kid Rock, Motely Crue.
Did they, or have they ever publicly apologized to "St. Louis" for the 1991 incident?
@@keymaster430 Who gives a flying fuck?
What matters is that you show growth and chance and GNR and specially Axl definitely have shown that. I couldn't even imagine him showing up late, getting angry and quiting a show now, unless maybe something happens.
@@keymaster430lol , dude.... fckng lame. Public “apologies” are a joke. It’s what’s in ones heart that’ll be weighed against the feather of the fates

@@jkb1O5 Whatever, I really don't give a shit anymore
This is awesome . Well done Tristan
axl can't sing like he used to anymore but he sounds pretty damn good anyway. that said it is good to see these guys mostly getting along and playing music again. hell if i could get reasonable tickets i would go see them.
he just sounds like a fucked up, drunk mickey mouse now
@@Spider-Man_2099_ Saw them live in Dallas. Age has made is voice lower, which is why he doesn't have the range he used to, but he sounded very good. He isn't the same, but he has done something that has made him sound a lot better.
Still sounded good enough to me. Part of it is people have to remember that nobody actually sounds exactly like they do in the Studio, and another part is just age. Even spoken language doesn't sound the same as you age. He still sounds a lot more recognizable then James Hetfield who has sounded like a Country Singer trying to sing metal for years. But nobody ever talks about that.
Incredibly well done! Thank you! The sounds of my youth!
Thanks GNR for all their tenderness through my all life time. They are all priceless.
You did a great job on this video. Thank you for sharing it with us G.N.R. fans.✌
I wish to be your woman mistress only cuz I heard you were married 😉
I gotta make love 💕 to you!!!!!!?
My all time favorite band. Axl was my first idol as a kid.
Thank you for putting this together. Awesome. I have to say though, with the recent re-release of Appetite for Destruction, GnR had better be releasing some new stuff ... now that everyone is all excited again. Whodathunk that my favourite band (I've been following them since the beginning) are now the biggest rock band in the World ... and still going strong. So proud LOL
Thanks for the video! Always wanted to know the history and what's happening now as well
Wow. This is information overload. Nice work on this video.
Hope you passed your college final with this documentary, I really enjoyed watching this and I believe it's up there with professional documentarists. As a life-long GnR fan I've watched a few documentaries on GnR / Sunset Stripe in L.A.1980'S etc. and you did a good job making sure all the relevent information about them was in there. What great subject matter to do as your project, I would've struggled choosing between them, Metallica, Iron Maiden or Ac/Dc as all four bands are huge and I'm a life-long fan of all them and was just starting my teens when I first heard Apetite For Destruction - it was like nothing I'd heard before, (& certainly not in our house!) & I have never looked back. Thank you for this trip down memory lane and a reawakening stirring within this GnR rock chick to still enjoy their music.
Enjoyed this, well done!
Great job buddy
Still I would do anything for an Axl biography book written by him. We never got his side of the story.
I'm sure I speak for a ton of long tiime fans like myself and want to see GUNS N' ROSES to stay playing together for the rest of there time around more tour dates after the reunion GREAT JOB SO FAR GUYS
Mike Jones Izzy was a good songwriter not the heart and soul tho if you compare his solo songs and gnr its a whole new level. As a rythm guitar player on the other hand he is pretty average and didnt really fit the band image with his hats. I personally prefer Gilby as a player because he suits them more on the stage. In the end Izzy can write but is irrelevant as a tour member.
Mike Jones, Plus that was kind of a rude way of putting it. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but there's a respectful way of doing it. Thankfully YOU don't speak for everyone!
@Mike Jones LOL fucking idiot.
Richard Shiffka I always wonder there would have been if they never broke up
Love this docu gnr fan here keep it up man!🤘
Very informative!
Thanks fir the content!
I just saw them a few days ago in SLC. DO NOT MISS THIS CONCERT! I was shocked at how good they still are!
They just kicked off their new tour in PA on Sat. Of course I missed it 😭
Great work man!
Enjoyed that, well done.
Phenomenal documentary, thank you!!
this is great! as great as the original behind the scenes. the breakup of the OG band has certain tragic beauty to it: their appetite for destruction satiated.
Guns n Roses 2016 July 6th will always be my favorite concert.
Best GNR doc I've seen. Way better than all VH1 etc. docs.
Ryan Maille I cant find any Guns n Roses documentary besides Behind the Music. Where can I find some?
Ok I take that back because everything else about it kicks ass. Nice Doc.. :)
Very good job guy for research and video-script ! all my compliments !
I’m so glad they did revisit
Very good job on this doc!!
OMG, I forgot how funny Axl Rose is.
REALLY. THANK. YOU. FOR. SHARED
that solo in November rain makes me weak af
I love that solo, it always annoyed me that radio stations always cut out most of it. I get that the song is over 7 minutes long, but come on. You don't cut out a Slash solo!
Such an awesome video, I'm at 80s baby and this is my all time favorite band! Now if they can get a movie that would be a dream
It would have to be R-Rated and away from anything as gay as The Dirt. It should also be directed by Penelope Spheres.
There would need to be actual interest for there to be a movie, at the end of the day, there is no real substance to bring in an audience.
GNR is no Motley Crue, all you need to do is compare book sales to see the interest just isn’t there.
You'd better have got A*++++ for this! Really well presented and great facts
Excellent job, Tristan!
That was fab thanks tristan x
check out Axls real first band he was in, if ya havent heard em. Rapidfire, 1983. the ep in on youtube and is amazing. cheers
my favorite bit was Slash dropping his cigarette while playing at 20:53
Hey nice job man! Guns N Roses were my favorite band in high school back in the 90's and the first concert I ever saw back in 1991. I'm going to see them this friday here in Las Vegas. Should be awesome.
Robert Jones I’ll be there on Fri too, finally. It’s taken since 1990 to get to see GnR live so nothing is going to keep me from the arena this week!
I hope you got a good grade for this man , ace documentary
My all time favorite rock band. G n’ R #1!
G n' R is kinda like R n' R. We all need it from time-to-time. Some of us more than others. lol
I’m sorry

An exceptional documentary! You provided more information than I learned in watching a great many documentaries from pro media companies! I love GN'R
the damn volumes all over the place.
THEN PUT THE MUSHROOMS DOWN !!
I was critical of this before, but your editing skills are very good. Where you placed certain songs and stuff was excellent.
Izzy is the heart of GnR he is the Ammunition
The Greatest Hard Rock Band of All Time - Fact!
RebelNick thats what i said in 1985
no. thats opinion. just like ass holes. everyone has one and they all stink!
Now, THATS a fact!
Fact. Like fuck they are. Fucking dreamer
They would have been a close 2nd if Axl would have pulled his head out of his ass and the band stayed together. Hands down Metallica is the greatest Band of all time. and whatever dillhole said they stink.....Hey moron they are selling out stadiums everywhere they go. 30 FUCKING YEARS LATER
30 FUCKING YEARS. NAME ANY BAND THAT DOES THAT BESIDES METALLICA

great job. I enjoyed it.
A+ !!!! Great job telling the story
You did a great job!!
Great documentary
thanks so much for this. actually seeing them on friday 15th in germany!! am curious about what you studied and why you made a documentary.
Had the privilege to see them when they first came to the UK.... I was working in a small music club on Wardour Street in Soho, London and they played there a couple of times. Unfortunately nobody seems to know about that place and I have a difficult time trying to convince people that it really existed! It was called 'The Marquee' but no one I speak to about this has heard about it. But I do honestly vividly remember it!!
Well, all that matters is that YOU remember!
Use Your Illusions 1&2 are timeless masterpieces.👌👌
nice doc buddy . cheers yo
Thank God for this band, tahnk all mighty God for rock!
Rick Floyd ya mon. Heee hee
So sad. Guns and roses came together to form excellence. Then the band couldn't grow up together so they grew apart. This band could have done so much more in its early years. It leaves alot of us yearning for the songs that could have been from that time lost.
Very well out together! 👍
They came to little rock recently and me and my beloved got to attend....best concert Ive seen.
My father bought appetite in 89 cause he loved welcome to the jungle and from that moment on GNR had my respect as a kid of8
I'm glad he made a connection between Star Wars and GN'R. The NOT IN THIS LIFETIME Tour was like The Force Awakens, the boxed set was like The Last Jedi ...now the world waits for redemption!
Great doco!!
G'N'R Foreva 🌷🎤🎶🎵🎹🎸 Loved The Show Last Year! I'll Be Waiting For The Next Concert Wpg,Mb #Axl #Slash #Duff
That is soo good. I just watched it.
scored 2 free tix/hotel for the show in Minneapolis back in the early 90's....they offered a 2nd nite which was a Thursday and either SKID ROW or SOUNDGARDEN opened for them.....was 20 yards away @ eye level to the piano once it was in place after it rose from below the stage that is. found a buddy & we drove my truck from Canada. good times good times.
I had a wild time when this LA band opened for Aerosmith in Philadelphia. They performed Patience, which got everyone's attention. They did Mama Kin. They looked like rock n rollers with biker theme. I went and bought the album the next day. I saw the Never in this lifetime and Axle with AC⚡DC. The shows still Rock!
I really getting old... Can't stand nowadays Music.
Breakfast Club ikr I’m a teen and I hate this RnB shit
Hardly and music worth a damn in 15-20 years. Not much mew music will stand the test of time
GNR IS A PHENOMENAL BAND. ALL OF THE BAND MEMBERS ARE SO VERY TALENTED. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT AXL ROSE ACCELERATED HIS TALENT BY, FOR THE MOST PART, STAYING AWAY FROM DRUGS. I HIGHLY RESPECT AXL ROSE FOR STAYING CLEAN AND NOT INDULGING IN DRUGS AND THAT IS WHY HIS SONGS ARE AMAZING. I WOULD HOPE TO SOMEDAY SEE GNR IN CONCERT HERE OR NEAR THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
If you ever want to nail your friends in a trivia contest, ask them to name a movie starring Clint Eastwood, Liam Neeson, Jim Carey, and Guns N Roses.
Then confuse the shit out of them when you tell them the answer is Deadpool.
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT APPETITE IS THE NUMBER 1 BEST SELLING DEBUT ALBUM OF ALL TIMES.
Im a natural redhead and crazy and not putting up with bs plus breaking things run with the true REDS!!! Ur awesome and always will be Axl Rose!
The first time the album was released in hit the charts at # 161 . When rereleased it came out at # 1 .

Love them since High school

One hell of an honour getting to play with AC/DC.
In March 14 2020 at Mexico city i was with my 14 years old daughter and 50k more peolpe in the last concert of the world that we knew before virus infection. I think GNR was chosen by destiny to write that page of history and i´m glad my doughter and I were part of it. We´ll never forget. I think for a couple of years from now no massive concerts will be possible or safe because C19. I hope music and this hard experience help mankind to change society to save the planet and mankind itself. For those who had left us because of this....we salute you.
I got to see them with bucket head . won tickets that morning on the radio. Going in September to see them again.
