I was 15 when The Twins won this World Series. No internet. As high school kids we would read the box scores in the sports section of the Pioneer Press in homeroom. Puckett was a God. Viola was Sweet Music. Bruno, Herbie, Lombo, Glad, Byleven, Berunguer, Reardon...all bigger than life. Only 2 things a 15 yr old cared about that summer....Girls and The Twins. So greatful fir that summer❤
I was 26 years-old. My high school classmate and good friend was working in MLB at the time and graciously included me among the handful of friends for whom he had landed tickets. And I went to 3 of the four home games. Highlight of my life only surpassed by my marriage and birth of our boys. Never forget, forgot or (take) for granted.
Some great memories. I believed in those guys from the beginning of the season, even though very few people did. I just KNEW they were going to do something big. And boy did they ever!
An enjoyable trip down memory lane! Thanks Twins, 1987, 1992, in particular. But, from Cal Griffith to the Pohlads and today. You have given us a lot of wonderful memories.
This is the way you honor a world series winning team....give credit to everyone from the owner to the front office n all the players....this was great n im not from Minnesota.
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down: It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles, And see the great Achilles, whom we knew. Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho' We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
When they came home after Detroit to a full Metrodome....magic. You could feel the energy. Once in a lifetime experience.
It never gets old

Those were the days, folks! Such fun times and the guys look so young!!
My favorite call of all time: Al Michaels To Gaetti for the first time ever the Minnesota Twins are World Champions!
And as a Minnesotan yes 1980
15:58 Always loved Bob Casey introducing Kirby Puckett’s name like that!
Chills. Tears. So many dome memories started with that.

Minnesota has some of the greatest sports fans....just rarely have any teams worth getting excited about.
Good to see Harmon and Kirby in the clip at the end
I remember watching this... So cool
RIP Kirby
He loved this game and this town so much.
If anything, Eloise Pohlad should have gotten a large statue and Carl a smaller one. Eloise was the one who had the real passion for the team.
man I wish I could have bn to this game. still haven't bn to the new stadium
Never noticed how much Roy Smalley looks like Gene Mauch. Small wonder, it's his uncle.

Interesting comment is that your original?
@@kja9881 Hah, I wish. "Ulysses" by Tennyson.
なつかしいね
30年後ということは、2017年度の映像でしょうか?それにしてもアルニューマン選手って、小柄なイメージだったのですが笑
Al has gained some weight I see
They only won because of four games in that stupid stadium they were using
But they won, didn't they?
Would of loved to see Jack Morris but I guess that was in 1991 oh well.
To bad the Vikings will Never win a Super Bowl
