- 1977 Alyeska Pipeline construction progress report (Color/Sound/16mm). Alyeska is a consortium of companies that own the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) The report gives a good overview of the challenges faced during construction of the 800 mile-long pipeline.

I was there and the welders were 798 Local welders on the pipe outside the pump stations. Maybe in the pump station but not the pipe.

Lotsa people would show up for work there and look over the edge and quit! It was some dangerous stuff. Every bulldozer had another bulldozer holding it with a winch cable.
Not me buddy!! I was there insulating the pipe at 19 years old. Should be dead from all the drugs we did working all those hours!!! Too damn much fun!!
