Where I really learned about rods was from fly fishing. There are so many rods made in every price point imaginable. I learned from that about how a rod loads, its swing weight, and how it fishes in all conditions. I think the same factors should be approached when picking conventional tackle. I don’t want a heavy rod that wears me out while fishing with it. Or a rod that won’t load unless you upsize the bait or weight. Same with rods that have too much bend and no power. I have been experimenting with rods over the last few years, and as I get older, I like rods that are light and engineered to load and not wear me out. I love Megabass Rods, and so far, they seem to outshine most of the rods that I own. Great video, and as always, some awesome offerings
Founder of Nories, Norio Tanabe, is the first international winner of B.A.S.S. tournament ever (BASS invitational in '93ish). He is a Japanese pioneer and a true bass fishing geek - I highly recommend his brand.
I've been using the RAID Power Nose for a few months now and for finesse plastics and light jigs in medium and heavy cover and brush. The sensivity is great and the power is off the charts! I've actually hooked quite a few channel catfish in LMB type areas and the strength of the Power Nose is fantastic! The Joker and Bartolo are also quite good.
Do you have a megabass spinning recommendation for gulf insore redfish and some snook. I usually throw a 7ft and 3 to 4inch doa or nlbn shads on an 1/8 to 1/4oz weedless jig head as well as split tail jerks and some small hard twitch baits. Thanks
I really dig how you linked the Javelin in P5 to a rod in Orochi line. 👍🏻 I’m wanting to move up in certain lines but not knowing how something will perform specifically is causing me to hesitate. So, how do you actually fish a Skinny Dipper?.. 🤔
GX-67MHC-ST The Bishop got a line rating of 16lb max. Thats flurocarbon tho. Whats the max line rating when it comes to braid? Should be above PE2 shouldnt it?
Speaking of under the radar rods, will you guys ever stock the JDM Evergreen rods like the Kaleido or Orion series? I absolutely LOVE my JDM Evergreens. They’re tough as nails and super sensitive!
@@treehunter1 as far as I‘m concerned….I really love the Throne. Am tossing glides and paddle/pulse tails up to 8 oz around. Incredible power/weight ratio. A true gem!
I grabbed a few Evergreen rods in Salty Sensation -range they a around 70 gram for a 7ft6/ 7ft7 rod and now i have to save for a Stella to make a combo 😊😊 I feel happy to have them, over the moon fishing them
Another great video. If you needed to choose between the combat stick wake bait rod or the new spro KGB rod for the 2 oz class swimbait which would you choose. Thanks for your help
Just curious, here in Spain Olympic Graphiteleader Vigore rods are really well known as one of the best japanese high end rods for bass. Have you ever tried them? If so, how would you rate them? Thanks!
I’ve fished graphiteleader rods, specifically the veloce rv and Neo. The newer GL rods like the RV have cheaper materials compared to old graphite leader.
Almost there. My $50 frog rod died, so naturally it's getting replaced with a $200+ rod 😂 I'll be done for a while after this unless I snap a tip or some freak accident.
So true .i took my kid for fishing and you know kid so much going on I forgot to tie rods on the boat it flied out on highway all of my hight end rods and all i had left my oldest oakuma rod and it was not fun it was so have no sensitivity and no fun whatsoever the rod use to be my high end back in the day 😂
“I get it”(ish) I was used to fishing heavy cover slop in the south warm water for 8-9lb bass. I recently moved to an ultra clear 50’ lake. Last summer i found myself spending more money on high end line then i used to spend on a rod and reel to catch 16” bass. The amount i spent on rods, reel, and no action micro japanese baits would cost me a divorce if my wife ever found out. Its rabbit trail you dont wanna go down to catch small finicky fish. Best advice, fish somewhere else😅
The only thing holding me back on the mad bull is the length... any thing in 7'2 to 7'5 you would recommend.., with the versatility of the mad bull as a junk rod ??
The fourth rod...you said that everyone is talking about livescope. Does the company promote this rod as being good for livescope techniques or is it your belief? Her in Australia, companies are promoting both lures (baits) and rods that are made specifically for livescoping. Getting to be a joke.
It’s not built or promoted as a live scope rod, it’s built for any fishing. I mention live scope in this video because of the extreme use of hover shot, mid strolling, etc that this rod excels at 👍🍻
Megabass rods are beautiful to look at on your rod rack and have some great actions but have no place down in Florida in our thick hydrilla they snap like a toothpick. You don’t need an extremely sensitive rod for every technique buy 1 or 2 Exprides for your bottom baits jigs and worms and fill in the rest of your lineup with $150-$200 rods. Paying $5-$600 a rod is just dumb. If you can fish you can catch them on a $100 rod and not piss away a truck payment for a rod with a beautiful paint job that will snap in 6 months

Dude that Norie rod is sickkkkkk and launches baits for such a short rod. I love everything about it.
Stoked you’re loving that rod! 👊🍻

do you guys offer any military discounts?
Always educational when watching your show. Cheers mate from Australia.

Are there enough new rods worth making a new beginner/entry level rods and gear? I'm looking to get into bigger swimbaits down here in florida.
Absolutely love the new intro 🤘
how do these guys not have over 100k sub's

There’s so little production on those - I doubt it. But we’re working on it 👍
So do I. Tough as nails, super sensitive AND extremely versatile. This is indeed a missing part in the stores portfolio!
I hope so. I really want to know what Geoff or even Ben thinks of the evergreen Orion “The Throne” as a swimbait rod.

would the javelin work for 1/2 blade baits?
Another great video. If you needed to choose between the combat stick wake bait rod or the new spro KGB rod for the 2 oz class swimbait which would you choose. Thanks for your help
I’d probably choose the new Combat Stick coming out. It’s super nice and light.
Some fire in there!!
Nories makes excellent rod.
Was hoping for a little deep dive on the Flyssa. Eventually it’ll be in stock. Gonna buy it no matter what lol.
I love it when my rod loads in the tip! Lol! No one likes a limp noodle!😂

Suggestion: put the rod specs (but not price) in the description along with the store link and time stamp (thanks for the time stamps).
Stan Sloan’s SB baby 😎
Best thing that ever happened to me was getting to the point I couldn't justify any more rods.

@@thesonorandesertangleryou will just end up developing a taste for nrx after that 😂
@@samcliu I tap out at $300 for rods. I have little kids that I like to take fishing with me, so no high end rods for me.
That sounds like the story of a hooker
Then don't get into big glide baits. That is a rabbit hole that may not have an end.
My super destroyer is a nice do it all for me

Rectum, damn near killed em
Im Looking for the perfect Rod to throw the Raid G dash
So the G Dash is just over an ounce - so something like the Madbull, Mark 56, tequila Baccarac - any of those would be dope
The only thing holding me back on the mad bull is the length... any thing in 7'2 to 7'5 you would recommend.., with the versatility of the mad bull as a junk rod ??

Do you think the Perfect pitch is to heavy for the G Dash ??
@@alansarpy It can toss it no problem, it's just not the taper I could choose for the "perfect" rod. But it's capable to throwing it for sure.

Any update on Orochi X10s? Need that Anaconda! Lol

@RyanSmith You're 100% spot On.🎯 The Shimano Expride rods are very hard to bet! I love my Exprides.
😂😂 you obviously don’t know what your doing if your snapping Megabass rods left and right. That is what you call a user error.
