    Where I really learned about rods was from fly fishing. There are so many rods made in every price point imaginable. I learned from that about how a rod loads, its swing weight, and how it fishes in all conditions. I think the same factors should be approached when picking conventional tackle. I don’t want a heavy rod that wears me out while fishing with it. Or a rod that won’t load unless you upsize the bait or weight. Same with rods that have too much bend and no power. I have been experimenting with rods over the last few years, and as I get older, I like rods that are light and engineered to load and not wear me out. I love Megabass Rods, and so far, they seem to outshine most of the rods that I own. Great video, and as always, some awesome offerings

    Founder of Nories, Norio Tanabe, is the first international winner of B.A.S.S. tournament ever (BASS invitational in '93ish). He is a Japanese pioneer and a true bass fishing geek - I highly recommend his brand.

    I've been using the RAID Power Nose for a few months now and for finesse plastics and light jigs in medium and heavy cover and brush. The sensivity is great and the power is off the charts! I've actually hooked quite a few channel catfish in LMB type areas and the strength of the Power Nose is fantastic! The Joker and Bartolo are also quite good.

    Do you have a megabass spinning recommendation for gulf insore redfish and some snook. I usually throw a 7ft and 3 to 4inch doa or nlbn shads on an 1/8 to 1/4oz weedless jig head as well as split tail jerks and some small hard twitch baits. Thanks

    I really dig how you linked the Javelin in P5 to a rod in Orochi line. 👍🏻
    I’m wanting to move up in certain lines but not knowing how something will perform specifically is causing me to hesitate.
    So, how do you actually fish a Skinny Dipper?.. 🤔

    “I get it”(ish) I was used to fishing heavy cover slop in the south warm water for 8-9lb bass. I recently moved to an ultra clear 50’ lake. Last summer i found myself spending more money on high end line then i used to spend on a rod and reel to catch 16” bass. The amount i spent on rods, reel, and no action micro japanese baits would cost me a divorce if my wife ever found out. Its rabbit trail you dont wanna go down to catch small finicky fish. Best advice, fish somewhere else😅

    The fourth rod...you said that everyone is talking about livescope. Does the company promote this rod as being good for livescope techniques or is it your belief? Her in Australia, companies are promoting both lures (baits) and rods that are made specifically for livescoping. Getting to be a joke.

    • @thehookuptackle_usa
      @thehookuptackle_usa  Рік тому +1

      It’s not built or promoted as a live scope rod, it’s built for any fishing. I mention live scope in this video because of the extreme use of hover shot, mid strolling, etc that this rod excels at 👍🍻

    Megabass rods are beautiful to look at on your rod rack and have some great actions but have no place down in Florida in our thick hydrilla they snap like a toothpick. You don’t need an extremely sensitive rod for every technique buy 1 or 2 Exprides for your bottom baits jigs and worms and fill in the rest of your lineup with $150-$200 rods. Paying $5-$600 a rod is just dumb. If you can fish you can catch them on a $100 rod and not piss away a truck payment for a rod with a beautiful paint job that will snap in 6 months
