This is one of the most informative and easy to understand guides I've ever seen. Along with helpful images with the rolls and time stamps for anything you may want to revisit. Even with the immense amount of play time I have in this game, I got a lot out of this 10/10
Sub. You know I love you man, but this is the third league straight that you've made a comprehensive guide on my current money making strat. I'm starting to think you're out to get me :P
I wish I would have seen this video before. I always stayed away from Expedition because it just looked so daunting. Without a guide, I still think it is. Many thanks! I'd already wanted to check out Expedition this league, now you've pushed me into definitely checking it out and with a bit of a head start. Now I don't have to experiment for weeks before understanding it lol
Absolutely excellent video! I learned some really cool stuff and look forward to getting into some more Expedition this league :) Amazing work, sailKite!
LOL I thought this would be a good intro guide but came to realize I need to go to an intro guide and then come back to this. I don't even know what a logbook is.
As new player who complained in the comments in the original video about this currency making method, I greatly appreciate this follow-up and deep dive. Thank you for putting this together for us non-galaxy brains Sub and sailKite!
Explosive watchstone rolls are criminally underrated. Yes you can pretty much clear out the entire expedition area with just the maven passives, but the insane range from watchstones allows you to almost entirely ignore any placement restrictions and set up the PERFECT chain in every map, no compromises. Logbook remnant all the way at the bottom and all the way at the top of the expedition site? No problem, hit both with your first 2 explosions. Need a bit of extra distance so you're not hitting that fire immunity remnant on your ignite build, but still want to get the runic monsters behind it? Not a problem etc...
Your betrayal guide was the best I have ever seen (and thanks again for that, it helped me like crazy) and this one is on the same level. Very good job, I discovered a lot of things I didn't know. Thanks to both of you
Thank you both very much for this info! My friend and I invested about 2 ex into this strat and made our money back in about a 3 hour session with around 1 ex profit for a pretty casual player I'm very happy with this outcome looking forward to some juicier sessions! Much love sub and sail!
As much as I want to be mad that expedition probably isn't going to be as profitable after this video, this is a very well made video with tons of information. GJ
How can it be? It is not like Legion or Breach that depend on splinter and stone prices. The only thing that can rise are scarabs and refresh currency prices. Very unlikely to turn it unprofitable.
I don't think it actually matters as long as you don't sell/buy the reroll currency and use what you find yourself. Rusted scarabs going from 8 -> 12c each doesn't make that much of a difference in my experience (you only need more currency upfront, that's all).
Hey! Thanks again for the great guide. I just explored heists for the first time ever and am heavy invested in it - so i stay with that for a while to farm currency. They are so much fun atm for me. But when i get bored i will give Expeditions a chance and will use this video as reference. Remember folks: doesnt matter how much currency you farm the goal is to have fun :)
48:46 - yep, that ancient orb 100% worth that amount of lessers (and you don't pay 490, since you will be huggling for lesser price). The thing is about Tujen - since you can't buy/sell all currencies now, you need to spend all you currency equally and get as much value per single coin as possible (because coins are money). In ideal situation you should be left with 0 of all currencies after all the huggling. Made an easy 100ex+ in first week with tujen, rocking with hh now.
Thank you very much for quality of the content! Also still playing your build already for two weeks:) Almost done my build but 2+3 gems staff is really hard to do
oh my that explains why some of my logbooks were instant selling and ppl offering 100c instead of the usual 40c ! even if I did a lot of expedition encounters last league, I was always selling them and never noticed the bosses 😅 Thank you for the very detailed guide much appreciated ☺️
Probably goes without saying but be mindful what remnants you take when you have boss in your logbook. Some remnants such as Hit cannot be evaded, impale, always crit and increased attack speed can be extremely difficult. It's better to leave logbook with fewer reroll currency than with none at all. Otherwise great guide!:)
Great video! One question/remark: I think the actual artifact chests within the logbooks are moreimportant to hit than the runic monsters. You did this in the video during the logbook run, but didn't really emphasize it (unless I didn't hear it). I believe the chests drop way more artifacts than the actual runic monsters. Ideally you hit both the artifact chests as well as the runic monsters where possible of course so you get some refresh currencies.
is there a list of what remnants are the best to get to maximize profit for logbooks? i still tend to struggle to get decent amount of reroll currencies like getting less than 5
Rog is the truth.. Just throwing it out there. If you learn to rog you will bath in exalts. It's kinda crazy how much money that dude makes for me, and his dialogue is pretty nutty.. Don't drink da watah! I'm pretty sure he lost a ton of venomous spiders also..
I was trying my best to pay attention and listen for it, how are artifacts split with multiple people in the map? Can me and a friend run them together and double dip or are we going to both get about half of what we would have?
extra players in a party add more quant but for mapping and books it isn't like double the quant.. i think. I run with a buddy and it feels like I get just a little bit less than I would solo but not too terribly and overall more if you count what we both got. I'm making up numbers here but if I get 100 of something in a book solo then I'll get like 75 of in that same book with my buddy, but he also gets 60-75. Maybe if we had 6 people then it would be more than if we ran solo but I just run with 1 friend most of the time for the last couple leagues. We run a lot of expedition and pass reroll currency back n fourth and don't really care if we are getting slightly less per person as we both get to make items with rog and buy bad belts from gwennen. I will add though that running beast farming is really nice with a friend b/c you each get the beast that you find, so we farm up fenumal arachnids for book splitting and it just doubles the amount of arachnids we find. The beast increase makes up a good amnt of the value lost if not more. Good luck bud. have fun!
A random question maybe but does the quantity altars help with the amount of currency we get from runic monsters or chests or both? Is any point on killing all the map and taking all the altars and then do the expedition?
new player here, I'm not sure if this was explained but does the "route of explotion matter" like if a node says 40% more pack, will that only affect alle the exploding nodes after, or does it affect all previous unexploded nodes as well?
So i've been running expedition for a little bit now. But is there any consensus to if the tier of a map has any impact on the amount of rewards you get from running an expedition(scarab) ?
At the very least I'd strongly encourage to do at least red maps. You'll usually see a bit more monster density and be able to drop at least map specific currency at a better rate. Between T12 and T16, however, I wouldn't be surprised if the results are about the same.
Amazing Tutorial. I´m currently really low on lesser sun artifacts. So there is only the chance to get them by running knight´s of the sun Logbook or by randomly encouter Dannig in maps and run the expedition?
Either is fine: Artifacts for each Vendor can drop in their respective Faction's Logbooks or in Map Expeditions that are found with that Vendor. Normally you'd also be able to trade for Artifacts from Dannig, but Dannig is himself and thus we have to find them!
I love your content but I must say after my experience with Expedition in 3.17 so far I will stay clear for a while. Even with Atlas specced barely any logbooks and running the logbooks basically no currency other than the reroll stuff. The rng was not good this league and I loved the mechanic back then :D
The core mechanics are basically the same but we now have the atlas tree which changes how it plays in maps. Also logbooks generally aren’t as valuable outside of the top tier. A remnant is one of the posts with the text modifiers on them.
Open and cramped layouts are both workable. The thing that gets tricky is when you're in a cramped layout that has multiple branches that split away from each other: if you get unlucky, the markers will be spread awkwardly and will require extra explosives to travel between.
Since they made artifacts untradeable, shouldn't they have increased the amount that drops? I got most of the atlas nodes for expedition but i rarely get much more than 20 artifacts at a time well at least from chests. Which during campaign was roughly the same amount. At least for the normal excavation outside logbooks, Honestly after hours & hours of game time i haven't seen anything valuable or even profitable from even tugen, & if they're was i rarely had enough artifacts to even buy it in the first place. Most of them i have just started saving. Along with all my logbooks of course.
Great video. I find myself, many expedition events in, having no grand suns and therefore no grand black scythes. Even after running log books. Not sure how to get them, but I cant get anything of value with the npcs it seems.
I noticed hardly any expedition encounters this league, I think I have seen about 10 total and I am level 80 and do alot of atlas and only seen Clarissa once, x1 blight, seems kinda scarce so got no currency for expedition. Anyone else the same? Any tips? Thank you
After 20 maps I had 0 logbooks, even after a double logbook relic encounter. Then while doing nemesis currency outside the expedition region, I got THREE logbooks in one encounter with 0 logbook relics. RNG is funny....
how to make normal map have more quantity ? chisel + alchemy + vaal and frament ? ppl always talk abou quantity but i still don't know the way to make it go up this is my 1st season so very appreciated if someone can show me the way
I’ve watched this video 3 times and I realize expeditions just not for me 😂 I give up I’ll just have to figure out something more fitting for me in terms of getting currency because I will forever skip this mechanic from this day forward.

Wow, what a video. You provide a top notch content mate! I still remember you toxic rain explanation which was 10/10 as well.
Surprised that immune to curses isn't highlighted yellow, makes sense for any "immune to x" to be noted
Yeah, that fucked me over early in league as a hexblast ignite character. Wish I had the foresight to read it all lol

It varies greatly based on league and time of league. So you'll want to check on poe ninja and then optimize based on that.
this is top tier info...gg !:)
