I’m up watching Dragon Ball and now this
Insomnia! Also because I know you upload at this hour lmao
........reasons.
Yeah
i was busy with a ritual for a midnight snack
This protagonist's so mentally strong he literally carry that lamp via psychokinesis.
The bro didn't had time to use hands like monke
at the cost of liquid shitting his pants. listen to the "freezing" sound.
I figured he was balancing it on his elbow while using his hand to carry his teacup for some extra challenge.
I picture this dude with traveling gear on, and probably has a backpack or some hook to hang the lantern on
I actually just watched a documentary on how plants can recognize who cut down or generally destroyed other plants in it's area, so the chances of you getting killed by a tree in vengeance are low, but never zero.
What's the documentary called? I'm pretty curious 🤔
@@DeltaRaptoran Treecherous woods

I love the idea of a guy chopping down a tree, seeing the trees have red glowing eyes and he still stops to calmly drink tea in the middle of all those pissed off trees like "u mad bro? Do sumfin' I dare you."
Plot twist: that tea has some good stuff and it's making him see the trees pissed off
@@Momo_oo7 His tea is made from some "trees"

The sled tipping over is the pinnacle of “it’s fine….it doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t bother me, it bothers me, IT BOTHERS ME A LOT!”
AND THAT ONE IS STILL GREEN
AND HOW ARE THESE TREES MAKING A CIRCLE?!
Let it go, Cell. You have shit to do.
Finally a game that captures the difficulties of daily life in Finland.
best part about manly uploading is the poetry written in each title lmao

@@PatataChip_Alt i know what i saw, and what i saw is the Alaskian bullworm! It's big, it's long and it's pink! ok that last one wasn't real
the cave thing has bridges, keys, medallion things, symbols, and art depictions such as statues and drawings. I don't think that was all the worm's doing.
While I can appreciate really wanting a spruce tree, I can't help but think there must have been a closer option to the house so you didn't have to go through a forest of angry trees, angler fish ghosts and a dungeon.
The player has picky kids.
Trueeeee
He's just trying to test fate lmao
This so far reminds me of that weird squirrel game, where the squirrel wanted to fly.

The sounds effect of this game is super satisfying bro, it just hit the spot
I agree! The snow crunching while the character walks, and the the satisfying sipping noise while drinking tea was so 👌
the snow worm sound effect is literally war of the worlds tripod sound effect lol
By the character’s lack of reaction to… ANY OF THIS… I have a feeling that this a common occurrence for them.
Just regular everyday life in the north, y'know?
You kill trees, the trees kill you, but the tea component makes it all wholesome somehow
This was a surprisingly cozy horror game!
The real horror is how badly you have to go pee after chugging 4 liters of tea
I'll give credit, the reveal of the worm is very well done, you get two things from the monsters you've already seen, The trees and the Angler, and one from one you haven't, the ice worm, Setting up you meeting it afterward.
With the trees staring it's like: What are they gonna do, throw apples?
It would be better if you said pinecones but it's fine
I would be scared shizless if pinetrees started throwing apples

I'm surprised by how you got away with wasting so much tea I assume it is only meant to be used once then it slowly makes the frost recede
The POWER of the British Empire courses through that Tea!
@@sato-kuu and the fact tea was invented in asia
@@sato-kuu ..Being in Boston as a British person, I hear they dump Englishman’s tea for tradition or so they say..
It was simple horror, but, in my oppinion, effective. It just kept me tensed up and continuously anticipating the character's death. Not jumpscare horror, but horror created by your own mind
Best part about this channel is you can watch a video from years ago and nothing has changed because every video is badass
I wasn't looking at the screen when Manly started talking about the Dev's other game, so when he said "Also the trees have eyes" I thought he meant that the dev had made another game called "The Trees Have Eyes." Imagine my surprise when I looked up to see that the trees, in fact, had eyes.
Still cant describe how much i love all these horror games that have an old graphics, making them feel somewhat cool.
Most of my all time favorite games, mostly horror, have "low resolution" graphics. Idk why I love old ps1/n64/GameCube style graphics so much, maybe it's just nostalgia warping my vision but it adds a sense of uncanny valley, which help add to the unsettling atmosphere.
It's my favourite kind of horror game. Low "graphics" or an interesting art style
Horror movies are popular to make because, at least at one time, they tend to be pretty cheap. So it's a great callback to that
@@Icalasari Indeed, old graphics give horror games some extra atmosphere
Not an Alaskan bull worm!
You're gonna need a paperclip and a piece of string for that one
Finally an interesting game that deserves to be named "atmospheric horror game", unlike all the walking simulators. You can actually die here, the graphics are neat and you don't get typical "you died" at the end.
dying in horror games often ruins the tension.
And this is why artificial Christmas trees were invented.
Hot tea in the ice/snow biome while chopping down trees, it's pretty nice until you're in someone's/something's food list 🏃♀️
Suspiciously specific
I wonder what the fuck make that person think I'm edible
*Anger Fish*
My god, I've gotten so attuned to Manly's ANIME-isms that I somehow knew he'd say 'to boil anime' at the beginning....
Oh no!
It's taking over my brain!
I learned so much in this video about the function of teapots and tree murdering squatter's rights
Chop down trees, drink tea, get eaten by flying fish... That same old horror game we've seen a hundred times 😔
Lorax: i speak for the trees.
Manly: I cut the trees.
Lorax: The Trees said you must die.
Manly: You wanna go? try me.
**dies**
Also Manly: it's ok I'm just gonna respawn.
Santiago
I've had such a long and tiring day, my brain is so mush right now that Manly completely flipping over the sled had me cackling out loud like an exotic bird
That man doesn't even have a bed in his home , what did he make the Christmas tree for ?
Three angler fish games so far, and I’m absolutely loving it. I hope this pattern continues.
My god! These trees have eyes! *Sips tea*
I find the protagonist of this game very relatable. I too often find Lovecraftian ruins while going about my day to day life. It's a serious problem.
"I need to drink tee to stay warm"
-British Survival Horror Game.
👕🍵?
Actually really like the ending you made it home and drink some tea it was cozy.
POV: you discover an ancient ruin with prehistoric monsters and dodge beying eaten multiple times to get a christmas tree and 3 cups of tea
Manly talking to reason at the angry trees, while sipping a cup of "tea". And then, there were the two guardians: Anglerfish and Ice Worm. In the end, the protagonist doesn't give a flip. Just your average, everyday creatures.
this just a video of a dude walking and drinking way too much tea
I see what you mean about the effectiveness of implementing the setting of an icy biome and the inhospitable frigidity of the barren wasteland to create a horror atmosphere. The unsettling stillness and abject solitude contribute to the cultivation of a hostile environment ripe with opportunity for terror to occur. I just… didn’t expect that the horror would come from trees with eyes, flying angler fish, and giant, Beetlejuice-like ice worms. I’m also not privy to any possible folk-lore that this game would be referencing with its inclusion of these elements, and I can’t ascertain whether these things have any symbolic purpose or if they were simply selected due to the fear naturally associated with them. I suppose in simplest terms they represent “darkness” or perhaps perpetual entrapment within the winds and snow of the blizzard. Interesting concept, and truly Zelda dungeon-esque, as you apparently even face Molgera in its depths, though I agree that the pacing was a bit inconsistent. I also personally prefer when the horror elements have a bit more cohesion to their design and fit thematically with the established atmosphere and setting. In that sense, I think the bathroom game actually better succeeds.
The worm’s calls sound like the tripods from War of the Worlds
Ever thought of making talking ASMR? Cuz you're perfect for that man
I just would of told the trees & the angler fish that the tree owed me a large some of money due to it's gambling addiction. This is what happens to people who don't pay their debts.
Cant imagine living in a lonely cabin that's claustrophobic af and has less than the bare minimum. Like, he doesnt even have an oven in there or a stove top of any type, what does he eat? Not even mentioning the lack of bed or even an outhouse.
Just having tea and nothing else from that teapot super thermos seems less believable than the ice worm. That is ultra chaga tea you got there.
The 'ice wurm' gave me strong "nothing lives under the lighthouse" larva stage thingy
More of a Dune thing than Tremors, actually. The Fremen were the ones who walked a particular way to avoid the worms. In Tremors, any ground movement will attract them.
Plus, the Graboids get smarter.
@@kidprime6863 Also true. I think the worms would get smarter if they had anything to adapt to, but given that the plot of Children and God Emperor of Dune with water being harmful to them, I don't know what they could really do.
3:22 look pines, this was between me and the spruce, okay? So keep your conifers to yourself and I won't have to roll you in peanut butter, bird seed, and conclude with a beautiful ribbon of yarn slipknot!
I love your witty comments! You are the best. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I'm glad I started my morning with this. A cup of tea together with this made it that much more immersive.
Manly’s voice is so nice
Man ur play threws are the best by far. And I can listen with headphones (no screaming so loud mybears bleed lmao. Thank you!!!
On a trip to and from Texas and we are just on our way back home after three/ four days. It takes 20 hours to and from. I’m happy that Manly makes these amazing videos that entertain me during the journey. Also I get to ignore my cousin who talks more than me and I talk a lot. Yeah we kinda live in the Fish now
This is why you don't go walking out in the woods alone. You might get eaten by a giant fish.
Them trees just need to leaf Manly alone.
Probably another cold-region horror game I can think of is *"Cryostatis"*
Quite solid and fun game for me
YEAH! Penumbra, set in friggin greenland, and that whole scene where you have to dodge a worm in this like, square box... and you have to shock it to death? This game makesme wanna watch a plautrhough of penumbra again LOL
Do it, Im sure Clarence misses you

Variations: Angler-fish, Carrachan, Devil-fish, Keddle-man, Kethrie, Kettach, Kilmaddy, Marmaid, Mareillen, Marsgum, Masgum, Meermaid, Merlin-fish, Molly Gowan, Monk-fish, Plucker, Shoemaker, Toad-fish, Weever, Wide-gab is a real folklore and the angler fish is just a variant of it
Makes sense but why is it flying
"A horror game where trees eat people"
Idk why but im reminded of legends of the hidden temple...
Just thinking about the dark forest section where the trees grab you if you try to find the artifact inside.
_I know why the trees were angry_
Same with the ice worm that came close to devouring you and your tree. Only you had your tea. If only the tea gave you the wisdom to cut down the nearest spruce to your house instead of wandering for miles. Instead, it was warm, comforting, protective, and soul-mending. A warm holiday tale. Perhaps next year, they will settle for a nice artificial tree instead and get some pine-scented candles.
That dude need to pee , that must be painful to hold in after dowming a whole teapot
yo manly, you played a demo for a RPG horror game called "Fleshport" which was fully released a while ago. Would be awesome to see you play that game
If you're on the search of more winter/ice themed games , there's a game called kona that is pretty interesting.
Was expecting and sort of wishing comedically for that long pause on the cabin to have the worm shoot up straight underneath eating the whole thing. Darn protagonist survived for once. We’ll get em next time.
These titles always gives me a stroke when I try to read them.
Me: trying to figure understand that title at the start
My brain: 🤨
I’m so glad I stumbled upon your channel dude, your my new sleepy time channel
Those ice worms were giving me serious Penumbra vibes.
It's pretty rare to see protagonist can reach the end peacefully in horror game.
Woah I'm surprised too, I was sure the protag will die. They survive another day, along with their warm tea.
This is what parents think they walked through on the way to school
im feeling sprucy, now go play more games before we all die
Then we find out all the monsters and odd cave ruins was just the player character suffering from cabin fever.
the trees with eyes are giving off serious banjo kazooie energy. it's great
I love the style of these games
I've always wanted a real samovar.
Really cold regions, deep space and deep ocean: Underused af.
Tbh I thought he had fallen into the frozen lake 😅 Interesting developer

The title just made my brain spontaneously combust into pieces.

When you have a hot cup of coffee while watching this it makes it more enjoyable XD
Just in time to watch another video of manly.
I fell asleep to this and had nightmares all night of being trapped in the snow with angler fish hunting me :(
It’s fun to watch you play this game.
is this a christmas game?
but yeah, much of it seems abit random. It would be more interesting if it were more tied to Yule. Could pick your tree and be chased by the Wild hunt.
I feel like another missed opportunity is the lack of footprints. Give you a path to follow back home, showing where you came... and, then cut you off when the footprints branch off in multiple paths or disappear.
love the videos keep up the good work ❤️
This is my favorite video title yet. *chefs kiss*
I had a stroke trying to read the vids title 💀✋
I should really subscribe at this point. The near daily uploads at the wee hours of the morning have been my wind down after a long day for a few weeks now...
Lol I just finished your who's Lila let's play! Love your content manly
Last video I watched for this game had no commentary. Also, you came closer to being Eaten by the worm . Creepy game.
My favorite part about this is when TEAPOT 00:15
I'd just point out to the trees, "Oh like you care you try to choke other trees out all the time!"
Bah. I watched you play while I was working. Still love your videos kind sir, thanks for sharing
If only I was any good at 3D stuff. I could use some of my monsters for a horror game like this
