Now this is better than TV!! It's like watching home movies and saying "Ah, yes, I remember that one, its gorgeous!" Beautiful, every page, just beautiful! Thanks for doing this, I love flips!! Hugs, Debra
Nina, it was enjoyable, seeing again all the prompts you have done. So many of them give me ideas for my journal pages. I always hesitate, when beginning a new page because I want every page to be a beautiful piece of work. Knowing that won't happen, it was nice seeing the one you didn't like and simply covered it with gesso! If need to relax and live by the belief that perfection is over rated, so I am learning to relax, play, and have fun, for there is always gesso! Thanks for taking the time, going over your journal prompts.
+cheryl7476 Thanks so much for your lovely comment Cheryl. I used to get so frustrated with myself because I wanted each page to be perfect too. But we all have good days and bad days, and some days we are simply more creative than others. I have learned to accept that some pages will be better than others
I absolutely loved looking back at all of the beautiful pages you have created! They are truly magnificent. It's especially helpful for me too as there are several I've missed...now I can go back and create with this as an easy reference. Thanks again for being such an inspiration to all of us! :)
" You've come a long way baby". Good for you Nina. It gets so much more enjoyable when you finally "get it" and then just go with your instincts eh. A fabulous journal. Tfs
+Sue Robinson Thanks so much Sue. It was interesting looking back at the progress I've made. I think the hardest thing for me was accepting that some weeks I feel more creative than others, and that that's ok. Now I just go with it. 😊
Steampunk may be out of your comfort zone, but you did such an amazing job with it! That and the flamingos are my favorite of them all! Thanks for sharing :)
they were great at the start. ... they are fabulous now. Thanks Nina I have only been in this group for 7 months so it was so good to see all the past prompts.
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed watching you go through your prompt book. very beautiful. It's neat to see the transformation from start to end. Thank you .
Going through your channel looking at videos that I've not seen of yours. So enjoyed this video. And yes, I can see how your style had changed. Even if I compare then to now, your style has changed. I've enjoyed everything that I've watched of yours. Thank you Nina!💕
Thanks Jane, glad you enjoyed this video. I wonder what my st6le will look like in another 2 years. I think new mixed media trends are always emerging, which is fantastic as I always like to try something new 💕
I think I remember them all! When you see them like this in a row, it's obvious that you developed your own style. It's beautiful and who knows what you'll create in the future... I'll keep on following you and learning from you. Thank you Nina! X
I've enjoyed watching the flip through of your journal and your narrating your experiences in making and how you feel about them. Love your creations, Nina!
Thank you for your flip. I always find your videos helpful and encouraging. Also appreciate that you keep them short and to the point. So many good artists that I don't have time to watch an hour or more of rambling just to learn a tip or two. Yours are great. Just what we need. Keep up the good work. One of my faves was the salad spinner with your son helping out. Nice too that you are just down the road/motorway - I am in Lancashire.
Lovely to see right back to when you started.I only joined towards end of last year, and really struggled to start with...I still do some weeks, but just like having a go,and keeps me doing at least something 'arty' 😄.I just love all of your pages! X
thank you so much for sharing Nina. it was interesting to see how you grew over the year. and i am sure that you will continue to grow. there is always something new to learn. beautiful flip thru ~~ janet : )
These are amazing Nina. So nice to see how you've developed your style since then. I dreamt about doing prompts last night. I hope I can start again with the group very soon. Very inspiring x
Enjoyed the flip through the pages. I could see how your backgrounds developed over the 15 months. There are some pages I adore, especially the one with the bird with a lot of white space. I've yet to attempt that.
Hi Nina I have just come across your you tube channel, I am a card maker but have started art journaling and I am addicted. I love your work and it has inspired me to carry on and hopefully get better. Thank you for sharing your lovely work. I am hoping to take part in your prompts as I progress xx
Thanks for your lovely comment Ali. I can't believe the progress I have made in such a short time, so I hope you carry on with your journaling. It would be lovely have you participate in our group! Hope to see you there :) xx
Lovely flip through. Stand outs I loved "change" and the flowing bird page, "feather", polar bear!, week 2, week 3, week 9 "fabric"..... I enjoyed the adventure. My impression is that you have learned to play more , and try more things....more composition and more depth of color. But what is most important is that you did it!
I loved looking at your pages. I'm very new to art journaling and have only done 2 pages, as I'm scared to try things. After seeing yours I've got ideas of what to do.
I just started doing artwork again...I'm very "stiff" . You are very inspiring, especially love your creative backgrounds...my biggest challenge! Thank you
+All 4 peace I'm sure you'll loosen up with a bit of practice. I love using 'tone on tone' for my backgrounds because you can add lots of layers without it looking too busy. Happy creating!
wow... stumbled onto your video and am so impressed and inspired... it's amazing the amount your style blossomed over the course of the last year which is so encouraging as I have only done a handful of pages, finding it quite difficult to know what to do so that it became a workout instead of playtime... thanks for sharing the flip through of your journey! PS... once you started this year's journal it was like... WOW... outstanding pages for 2017... thanks again and have a great day!
+Sue Bouch Thanks so much for your lovely comment Sue. As soon as I started working on loose leaf pages (mixed media paper), my pages improved. For one it took the pressure off working in a journal and messing it up if I made a mistake. If I created a page that was too terrible, I could bin it and start again! Secondly, I found it so much easier to manoeuvre the page without the restriction of the spine. I find the neat pages so much more inspiring and find I don't see/am not looking for as many faults in the page.
Nina Ribena Thank you so much for your reply... it was exactly the advice I needed. I'm excited about future playtime using the various mixed media supplies I've been accumulating... and will be using the 8x8 size because I also confirmed that I am more comfortable with the square layouts. thanks again... have a great day!
Wow! I love them all!! Even the early ones! You really can see the progression in your work! Thanks for sharing Nina, I will go back again and again go inspiration Hugs Marsha
I love the silhouette page.. and the rain one... well I like them all... you're right though, I can see the progression of how you keep getting better and better at this.. it's encouraging for me.. ooooo the beautiful witch!! and the winter penguin.. yes, it really is interesting to look back at our journals, isn't it? Sometimes for some pages I think wow, I did that? and some other ones I say oh.. I did that..ewww.. lol I enjoyed your flip through!

Lovely to see the flip through. It's great to see them altogether and as you say your style is coming through. Everybody has some prompts that go better than others. Many a time my original idea doesn't work out and you have to adapt as you go along. People seeing the end product of people's work on Facebook might think something you've done is great and you don't really like it. Art is subjective.
