    I love wagons,in the early 80s I had a 72
    Mercury wagon,460. Drove it for a bit and the transmission went. Pulled the 460,tore it down and discovered through a legit shop,it was a police intersepter. No damage, it went into My dad's 70 ranchero. What a blast !!!!

    5 very nice wagons, but I'd take Aussie Panel Van over a Yankee Station Wagon every day of the week. Whether it's a Chrysler Drifter, Ford Sundowner or Holden Sandman, you just can't beat one of the most iconic vehicles of Aussie 70's motoring culture.

    I counted 3 different style Buick wagons... a 1970 Buick Estate Wagon (this style built one year only, and a non-clamshell), a 1972 Buick Estate Wagon (clamshell), and finally, an actual 1972 Buick Sport Wagon (based off the Skylark)... the last being the only real Sport Wagon. I am not sure why the other two full-size Estate Wagons were pictured here. But really, that 1970 Estate Wagon was the best! Love that mean-looking front-end! Looks very menacing and I wouldn't want to see one of those creeping up in my rear-view mirror! The 64 Ford was sweet!

    I'm 75. I built a 55 Chevy Gasser at 19, built a subframe and installed a Chrome Straight Axle. It was difficult to keep the front wheels on the ground while Street Racing. I'm from the Muscle Car era. The Muscle Car Wagons were not available as you indicate. "You Had To Know Somebody At A Dealership" and would know a person in the "COPO" off the Manufacturer. The Dealership would get an approval and a Retail Price Quote that the buyer would have to pay Cash Up Front. The process would take about 90 before the car would even get to the Production Line. Then it could take about 3 to 6 months to be delivered to the Dealership. I worked at a Dealership when I Special Odered a Maximum Optioned 78 K10 Blazer. It took just under 6 months to get, and I knew someone. I'm building a Clone, Red on Red 67 Chevelle Wagon with All Correct Date Coded OEM Parts. Big Block 427, Turbo 400, 12 Bold Limited Slip Rear End, AM-FM Stereo, Dash Guages, Rebuild OEM Tach, Correct OEM Front Disc Brakes, 15x7 Wheels Ralley and, "Coker" Red Line Tires. I'm just building this car to Show and Have Fun. Enjoy Life..! It only comes around once :>)

    They combined 2 different Buick Wagons into one offering as the “Sport Wagon”. But the Sport Wagon was actually one model down from the top and was actually slightly smaller. It was also lighter. But it did have the same drive train.
    But I prefer the Buick Estate Wagon just for its styling, practicality and especially for that Clam Shell rear tailgate. That was something special!!

    You are talking about the Olds Vista Cruiser, but most of the pictures are heavily modified examples. Do try to keep the visuals in sync with the descriptions. There was never an Oldsmobile 4-4-2 Vista Cruiser. By the same token, there was never a Buick Sport Wagon GS. Vista Cruiser and Buick Sport Wagon were most definitely NOT limited production vehicles. From 64 through 69 for Buick and 64 through 70 at Oldsmobile, the full sized wagons were discontinued. There was some sort of problem with Ionia, the company that built full sized Buicks and Oldsmobile wagons. The limit was the number of orders. There was also a regular wagon in both mid-sized line ups. The last year for the Vista Cruiser name was 73, the first year of the Colonnade generation of mid-sized GM cars. It was a regular Cutlass Cruiser with a pop up sunroof.
    On to the second car. Your total lack of knowledge is showing through. That "GTO" WAGON IS NOT A 69! Get something right. What you are showing are 67 Pontiac Lemans with grafted on GTO front clips. Do try a little harder. Before I give up, remember that there is only one year of a factory Chevrolet Malibu SS wagon, and that is 1973. Oh, one of the rarest factory wagons were the 7 Ford Torino wagons built in the final couple of months of the 71 model year production run. While talking about Ford products, the 88-91 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis could, with the right connections, be had with the 215 hp 351W that was an RPO on sedans in Canada. Production numbers for the wagons are likely in low double digits.
    Now I give up on the rest of your ill-informed blather.

    Hi American Muscle wheels, good video! I am 64 years old and over the years I was a mechanic at three Ford dealerships and two Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. There is no such thing as a factory installed Ford 427 cubic inch engine in any Ford station wagon. You see the 427 engine(s) where hand assembled at a very high cost where the Boss 429(s). Their was only just one 428 engine equipped Ford station wagon that was special ordered for a general manager's good friend at a Ford dealership, after the general manager got off the phone for over an hour to the final assembly plant. This issue is on the internet. Please reply. Dave...

    I was a little embarrassed in high school. I drove our hand me down family wagon. I wanted a car for me . But I hadn’t earned the money yet. So I drove the wagon. Hauled everyone and everything in that wagon. Now I wish I had one like it. It was a dark brown metallic 1976 Gran Torino Squire. It was a great looking sport wagon. If I had it now? I’d put a nice Boss 351 Cleveland down inside under the hood.maybe I should get rid of my Jeep project and go find me another Gran Torino wagon?! Hmmm.🤔

    I do not know where your getting you statistics from. I disagree with a lot of them. I have, and bought new, a 71 PONTIAC Le Mans Safari wagon EVERY available option, 2 window stickers, INCLUDING a 455 with a 400 trans, NO 4 speed available.1 of 12 factory built.I was 20 when When when special ordered July of 1970. STILL own it !!. No 69 GTO wagon ever FACTORY built. Also own a 1 of 1 69 Le Mans 4 speed wagon under restoration now.
