At 7:50 I can't help but think Al Hezmin saying he is suspicious of Zana because she keeps checking on us, is a little shoutout to Zana randomly popping in maps and asking "Still sane Exile?".
I just recently found your Complete Lore Series. Truly impressive work, that’s given me a much deeper understanding of my surroundings as an Exile. Thank you!
Kitten Cat Noodle: These videos are wonderful. I love when the lore hides in the background of games and you present it in a way to make it very understandable even if the bits come from places like not-well-known items. You do for PoE as Vaati does for Dark Souls.
The fact that zana employed a ton of exiles before the last 5 explains why there are so many rogue exiles. And that's why I like the lore of this expansion so much.
This is a random thought, but I really love being familiar with the Rogue Exiles. Some are easy to deal with, and others cause me to scream out "No [Exile's name], please no! Just die!"
Always nice to have some background info on things that aren't in the game anymore. Right now, Oriath is already destroyed and we're already on the Shores, and it seems that everything that happened in the prior atlas-related expansions already happened, outside of the knowledge of our current incarnation.
13:04 I rather think that The Elder reinforced / intensified the negative feelings Sirus had, especially in the moment when he realized that he was left behind. So I believe it IS Sirus but manipulated to be a very unhealthy version of himself. Intensified fear, loneliness, desperation, doubt, anger, ... and after time he would become seemingly numb to any feelings. After all we only know from HIS pov that he "feels nothing". But if he really didn't, then he wouldn't care about that fact itself.
Hey N00dle, just wanted to write a comment on how grateful I've been for your channel! I haven't played POE in years but I've enjoyed the anticipation of seeing what look you go for after each Act Lore videos. I found your channel long ago and I play your videos before bed since it helps me fall asleep. I know how it all can sound but it's truly from a place of gratitude and appreciation, thanks!
I just started Poe about 2 weeks ago, I've just found Baran and couldn't beat him.... Got into the game for the character building flexibility but stayed for the lore, thanks for this well made video!!!
We sure do keep putting the world potentially at risk a lot in this game :') At some point you gotta ask yourself, if it's really just an accident or if we are the true villain.
Wow. Splendid job. Thank you very much for the effort and sharing. I'll make sure i go through all your videos, even if one reads lore its still easy to miss at least something. Not much people care about lore in general, but imo without it this game would not be as epic as it actually is once you get into it. GGG is so good at this that it brings me joy.
Amazing work ! It's a shame that you received so few views for such acute rendering of the lore from this game. I'm eager to see where GGG will take the story from this point on with PoE2 and I wonder if they will make it so that the decisions that we make have a deeper and long lasting effect on the environment of the game and how NPCs react to our presence.
I was like wtf is this in my feed, then I remembered I watched a spider necro guide from you like a year ago or some shit. Good job, I'm listening as I grind maps and now I feel bad for being a slave to the atlas.
Genuinely love the video. You cover main topics and details in just enough depth to get a solid understanding of what happening without it being a entirely too long. Very informative yet entertaining. After taking a long break from PoE and suddenly finding these Elderslayers are the new endgame was a bit jarring. Great video for getting up to speed.
Can't agree with that. For me it's the global chat. Nice rolls on a unique: Global chat wants you to vaal it. You find a mirror: Global chat says it's worth 2c.
It matters not - whether Zana remains the only one who'll remain as she is - loyal and reliable, or falls so deeply that we'll shake our heads in disbelief - each of these options is going to be epic.
The fact that there is a meta-lore - players being part of the lore - is just FANTASTIC. Genius from GGG, genius from you to notice. This video is the absolute best on the series. ABSOLUTELY fantastic. BTW, we no longer fight Shaper or Elder, then?
she wasnt any different than them. her obsession was vanity. how much better she is than the others. how great she has resisted the atlas. how pure shes remained. how she has to purge the lessers who disgust her. she didnt resist the atlas at all she only believed that she had
In case anyone drops by, do we know why Drox says "Veritania... My kingdom for... Veritania."? It didn't seem like they liked each other or anything from their journals.
It will be very surprising for me if zana isnt at least somewhat involved with bein the endgame boss of poe 2. Even if here involvement is only from a lore perspective and not us directly fighting her
>Zana believes the atlas itself has awful powers That hit hard after 3.13 came with the atlas region passive trees.. And oh man it just gets better, the atlas literally is giving us exactly what we choose right now. We're living the folly of the elderslayers yet again :O
The Atlas is the best possible prison for the god that was made to bring death to all of the other gods. I mean, imagine what our character would've ended up doing to Wraeclast if it weren't for the Elder drawing us into the funtime murder zoo.
This content is pure gold, a little aspect almost invisible is that Drox had a crush on Veritania, as one of the quotes on defeat him he sorrows he wanted his kingdom for her :( And ofc the best quote ever made for games is from Miracle after the map device blows up xd
Oh, thank God I found a lore video! It's rare finding female content creators covering PoE. I love the story-telling, I literally listened to it while I went to sleep imagining it, helped me cure my insomnia. Thanks! Sometimes I do listen to NPC's but in the endgame, I just skip the dialogue and go mapping, this video helped me understand the lore. Thank you for this.
Since the release of the conquerors of the atlas, i've changed my mind about Zava - she is fishy and not trustworthy. Love to see her as new endgame boss at some point. Thx for the great content!
Awesome series! Also peculiar moment with Zana's reaction to Sirus' return: not sure if it's bad acting from voice actress (she sounds too plain and uninterested to me compared to other voice actors) or implied bad acting by Zana xD
If the POE Lore show us something, is: no matter how good or bad your intentions are. How strong you became and even if have a noble purpose: you will have a horrendous fate, be trapped as a undead, suffer for eternity or even worse.
The question is what happened with elderslayers after Sirus popped up on the Atlas and we are defeated him...coz I feel really bad for them and I actually hope to hear more about them in poe 2
awesome video, ive been searching for lore videos especially around specific characters in poe. only thing is i wished you let the in game voices played out for instead of reading them because the voice actors in poe are so damn good
I doubt I will ever get to endgame if I keep playing in the leagues. I'm simply too slow. Knowing how it ends, though, kind of makes me wonder what the point of saving Oriath was in the first place. Look! A ray of hope! Nope, never mind. It's just the sun crashing into the ocean.
I'm kind of surprised that nobody has novelized the story of POE. I think it would rival the likes of GOT, maybe even LOTR. It would be a big undertaking but i think many people, even non gamers, would like the story
I think it's 20 years after whatever the "end" of PoE 1 is. I believe Oriath being destroyed is Canon, and we know we go to Ezomyr, but not sure if we start in Ezomyr or on this Karui island
I hope GGG has some more meta things planned for the end of PoE1. Something like fighting Zana because she locked us in the atlas. It can be something cool like loosing access to our Hideout and having to map our way back- ala being an Elderslayer trying to find Oriath again. Or maybe Kirac fights Zana and we have to choose a side. I really like the expansions to the Atlas storyline and haven't really been a fan of the newer ones- Maven, Expedition, even Delirium aren't AS interesting.
Wonderful lore video! Thank you! One criticism: Zana's name is pronounced several times in the game as "Zonna" not "Zanna". It would be cool if you could actually use the soundclips from the game instead of reading them. Would that be allowed? They have such wonderful voice actors in the game! Personally, my favorite line from Kirac is, "Never trust floating women." lol
@@KittenCatNoodle he says something like "you will never know my name" and things like "I've led so much people to insanity" so I think he may be somehow binded to last league
The answer to GGG's . . .err Zana's question of will you stop now? The answer is Yes. Why? Because after about two months, people get bored of the league lol Maybe the writers could write that in.
Feels like a weird decision to have you read the quotes and lines(no offense but very steraly and emotionless) instead of letting the voice acting play out, which is done beautifully and thematically. Just having you read the non voice acted lines and talk inbetween. I really don't mean to sound rude but it feels like a waste not having the exiles talk for themselves when you read their lines verbatim.
Don't just trust Zana blindly. She proven herself to be unreliable narrator. For isntance current Conqueror's group was NOT insane when Zana locked them in the Atlas.
even though you are really hot, you are way hotter just hearing the words you say and the slight smile you can feel in your election. This is up there with No Such Thing As A Fish as my favourite lullabye

At 7:50 I can't help but think Al Hezmin saying he is suspicious of Zana because she keeps checking on us, is a little shoutout to Zana randomly popping in maps and asking "Still sane Exile?".
"Dark Souls lore is convoluted and hard to piece together"
GGG: "Hold my Atlas"
Oh, this is a juicy one Exile!
Don't worry, little exile! We will be best friends! Until I lock you in the Atlas! Haha!
Whew, whiff that!
I was genuinely wondering about why the crusaders are so grumpy at us and now I know why
By the muscular golden arse of Innocence!
I really loved that line :D
The GOATest line in all of PoE
"time in the atlas is a mirage" now THATS some meta-commentary
"just one more map"
I just recently found your Complete Lore Series.

You can, but not as part of atlas progression, but rather by getting fragments to their fights from guardian maps that can drop from map bosses
