I don't think you can say they were biased to Heejin and HyunJin since they probably edited a lot of Haseul's parts out since she didn't make it onto the show. It doesn't make sense to give a lot of screen time to someone that the audience only sees once on screen.

But for mixnine, there were 98 girls who actually made it onto the show (and all the boys too) and they didn't even show all the auditions of those 98 girls. So to me, it wouldn't make sense to show the full auditions of trainees who didn't make it onto the show bc they didn't even have enough time to show the trainees that made it on. Sorry if that's a confusing sentence. Edit: But if it's the second case, I think you're completely right and I would actually love to see those videos!
I hate how some people said that haseul was ‘arrogant’ and that the girls needed a reality check. Yg was laughing at them because they believed in themselves. Y’all saying that they were ‘arrogant’ when they believed that they could become the best girl group, of course it sounds arrogant, but they believed that they could become better and be a great girl group. Most of JYP's criticisms comes with detailed points for them to improve while YG's most of the times will just be whether he likes the performance or not then sprinkle it with either insults or compliments.
HaSeul is a vocalist, she stated so herself. She doesn't dance much - and it's fine. Her vocals are actually really good and it's clear that they edited her singing out to make her look worse. It doesn't matter that us fans know what these trainees are capable of because the only thing YG is basing his judgement on is what was given to him in this audition. And yes, for this competition YG is definitely looking for creativity and uniqueness. If you've seen other auditions from other trainees, even though they did well YG still slammed them for being boring or choosing the wrong song for this competition.

They’ve all released solos though and it showed that they had enough vocal talent. Haseul released “let me in” - a a ballad. Hyunjin also released a ballad. And heejin released a kind of jazzy pop song called “vivid”.

I've been following LOONA for a while and during their Butterfly promotion, I can say that Haseul really improved and when I say a lot, means A LOT. I know YG is the most strict judge but he's the one being a big disappointment in the show. He despise the fact that the girls are confident enough to answer his questions without stuttering.
Our Mom-seul did her best!!! Loona have improved so much and Haseul is a necessity in team. She may not be the strongest in dance but she is an amazing vocalist and looks after the members so well. I think they still need time to grow as artists. I expected more from them for their audition, but I think that's what happens when you become attached to them after following them from the beginning. Putting my bias aside, I think they have the potential to be successful in the future if their company keeps doing what they've been doing and if they keep practicing, until then, this show is just for their promotion. I don't know how these shows work, but I'm hoping this is some form of publicity stunt where they improve as they go, and even if it isn't I'm sure they'll improve either way.

I do understand where YG is coming from. Considering the fact that LOONA is starting to establish themselves as a "unique" group, we all have our expectations from them. In an industry where idols are overflowing, it would be stupid to coddle aspiring idols, so I don't think that YG was harsh or rude in any way. It was constructive criticism worded in a way to bring the girls back to reality. Furthermore, he was basing his criticism on the performance that they showed and to be honest it wasn't really up to par to what we expect from them, that we have to admit. Lastly, he KNOWS that they are talented, he even said it himself. They just need to refine and polish their skills, which YG could provide. Just support the members as much as you can guys. Let's enjoy and see their improvements :)

I didn't take notice of this the first time, but after I rewatched the video, I noticed that when the girls entered and Zion.T began smiling because he found the girls pretty, the camera only turned to focus on Heejin and Hyunjin , leaving Haseul out for that moment. Now this would have been fine, but then throughout their group performance, there was no focus whatsoever on Haseul; she was only shown in the group shots and individual shots were directed at either Heejin and Hyunjin alone.There was not even one good look at Haseul's performance or face, until 2:06 where she shows behind Heejin. And finally when it is Haseul's turn to perform alone with all focus on her, she comes out with terrible dance skills that look embarrassing to watch... I feel like this moment with Loona was edited on purpose to show her in a worse light due to her bad performance to give an effect of 'how bad it was' to the audience/viewers. So to me, it wouldn't make sense to show the full auditions of trainees who didn't make it onto the show bc they didn't even have enough time to show the trainees that made it on. I hate how some people said that haseul was ‘arrogant’ and that the girls needed a reality check. Yg was laughing at them because they believed in themselves. Y’all saying that they were ‘arrogant’ when they believed that they could become the best girl group, of course it sounds arrogant, but they believed that they could become better and be a great girl group. They knew that they weren’t the best but they knew that had some skill which they could improve. Those people who said haseul was ‘arrogant’ when she literally didn’t praise herself when she knew she danced badly. If you see closely, you know that she was ‘laughing’ during her dance because she knew she didn’t do well. She even gave herself a 2 for skill, she isn’t arrogant, she knows that she isn’t the best and felt that she could practice more.

It doesn't matter that us fans know what these trainees are capable of because the only thing YG is basing his judgement on is what was given to him in this audition. And yes, for this competition YG is definitely looking for creativity and uniqueness. If you've seen other auditions from other trainees, even though they did well YG still slammed them for being boring or choosing the wrong song for this competition.

Haseul is a vocalist and she sang as well but they cut that part to make her look worse. They didn’t put forth their best, but they did better than they edited to show. I think their company just made the wrong choice regarding what they auditioned with. Nice to know that BBC ceo is really encouraging and supportive so that when they’re treated like this, he’ll help build their confidence back up and fix what they did wrong.

They’ve all released solos though and it showed that they had enough vocal talent. Haseul released “let me in” - a a ballad. Hyunjin also released a ballad. And heejin released a kind of jazzy pop song called “vivid”.

usually the show is edited so the ones who pass the auditions get more screentime and the others don’t really get it BUT while they were showing the girls’ solos they didn’t show Haseul’s solo WHICH led to people not knowing she can sing VERY well. I've been following LOONA for a while and during their Butterfly promotion, I can say that Haseul really improved and when I say a lot, means A LOT. I know YG is the most strict judge but he's the one being a big disappointment in the show. He despise the fact that the girls are confident enough to answer his questions without stuttering.
Our Mom-seul did her best!!! Loona have improved so much and Haseul is a necessity in team. She may not be the strongest in dance but she is an amazing vocalist and looks after the members so well. I think they still need time to grow as artists. I expected more from them for their audition, but I think that's what happens when you become attached to them after following them from the beginning. Putting my bias aside, I think they have the potential to be successful in the future if their company keeps doing what they've been doing and if they keep practicing, until then, this show is just for their promotion. I don't know how these shows work, but I'm hoping this is some form of publicity stunt where they improve as they go, and even if it isn't I'm sure they'll improve either way.

I do understand where YG is coming from. Considering the fact that LOONA is starting to establish themselves as a "unique" group, we all have our expectations from them. In an industry where idols are overflowing, it would be stupid to coddle aspiring idols, so I don't think that YG was harsh or rude in any way. It was constructive criticism worded in a way to bring the girls back to reality. Furthermore, he was basing his criticism on the performance that they showed and to be honest it wasn't really up to par to what we expect from them, that we have to admit. Lastly, he KNOWS that they are talented, he even said it himself. They just need to refine and polish their skills, which YG could provide.

I didn't take notice of this the first time, but after I rewatched the video, I noticed that when the girls entered and Zion.T began smiling because he found the girls pretty, the camera only turned to focus on Heejin and Hyunjin , leaving Haseul out for that moment. Now this would have been fine, but then throughout their group performance, there was no focus whatsoever on Haseul; she was only shown in the group shots and individual shots were directed at either Heejin and Hyunjin alone.There was not even one good look at Haseul's performance or face, until 2:06 where she shows behind Heejin. And finally when it is Haseul's turn to perform alone with all focus on her, she comes out with terrible dance skills that look embarrassing to watch... I feel like this moment with Loona was edited on purpose to show her in a worse light due to her bad performance to give an effect of 'how bad it was' to the audience/viewers. Isn't this what netizens call 'evil editing'? Like it was Produce 101 before with Mnet and unpopular girls they didn't want to focus on...
