I loved how, even though he had seemingly accepted his fate, William still tried to manipulate his victim into helping him out. It might show that William is truly afraid of death (something never really confirmed officially).
The fact that he killed the children to get remnants and become immortal makes it clear how afraid he was of death.
That was confirmed in the books
It's confirmed in the books actually,He begs for Eleanor to not leave him to die in the Stitchwraith Epilogues and in the fourth closet he mentions how he only does the shit he does because he doesn't want to go to hell after death.
That is confirmed though. A Priest IIRC is using a cardiact beat monitor to question him and when asked about Hell the monitor starts beating intensely.
It is argued whether this is in the game continuity or not, but regardless this is a character trait that is maintained regardless of the universe.
Everyone else is talking about how it was specifically is mentioned but what I thought was if the guy was so willing to murder innocent people for immortality he probably fear’s death and add on to that in UCN you can hear Afton screaming for help from Mike and Henry in absolute desperation you can hear the fear in his voice because he completely drops the calm and calculated act and is screaming “MIKEEEEEE!! HEENRY!!!HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP”
Man, the bones cracking as he tries to move while the suit tries to keep him in his position. Very Good
People don't know this but in the game lore, and in the movie, by that point he is supposed to be dead but he is reaching out to golden Freddy's spirit to stop his suffering because golden Freddy is keeping him alive. He was kept wake for 8 minutes

And yet, their thirst for revenge just caused more people to die to Afton years later. Even after he’s gone, Afton’s legacy ensures more people die.
Well, Springlocks don't kill instantly, they really take a while to kill, which only makes it more scary and painful for those who are in such a fantasy.
Isn't the remnant keeping him alive? As far as i know, golden freddy was only torturing william in his nightmares, i don't think he has the power to keep him alive.

Simple yet interesting answer I have. He can't actually see through the eyes. But the eyes have now replaced his own, so now he sees through them.
