What I still do find so amazing even to this day, is just how much of a phenomenon they were that their first ever live concert was help in a country not remotely close to their home territory........and completely sold out on both nights. I don't think I know of any other artist that has done that, of course I could be very wrong, still a triumph whatever way you look at it.....they really did rule the whole world for about 2 years.....quite staggering when you think about it!
You're totally right, they ruled. In the UK they were literally EVERYWHERE! Shops full of merchandise, supermarkets full of products with their faces on it, promotional posters posted all over bustops. There was a massive 2 storey tall towering billboard with their faces at a building site here in Edinburgh when Channel 5 was released! I wish I could go back in time 😔
They were incredible at marketing themselves and knew how to play each of their strengths. That’s a pretty solid combo that most performers today can’t really do anymore with most marketing being done via social media. Posting a photo for likes isn’t the same as having your face plastered on lollipops.

They always have sung yes live but as I said to the comment below what u hear on this DVD is not fully live, trust me.....on the night they performed this a radio station here in England called capital fm played the concert live over the radio, I used to have it on tape that I recorded but sadly I can't find it anymore....it was a lot different to what you hear here.....and better too because it completely raw and fully live, well with the added help of pre recorded background vocals which every live concert has of course. There is still a lot of live vocals on this DVD though. Regardless I have, and will always love these girls....they still very much have the same affect of me as when they were around, best british group we have ever produced!!! And they were not manufactured despite what some will say.....everything they done, said and did was all them, heart and soul.....viva forever spice girls :)

I'm afraid you are wrong, this has been dubbed by the album version of the songs, a lot of the verses are live but most if the choruses of the songs are dubbed sadly....there is a very rare piece of footage from the first night of the show where the screen that rises malfunctioned and scared the shit out of them, and you can hear if u can't dance live and can clearly hear the difference....but unfortunately the whole concert live had never and probably will never be released :( personally when I hear if u can't dance live in the rare video I spoke of I actually prefer the live raw vocals.....search for Istanbul press conference and hopefully it's still here, you will then know what I mean :)
