Just a tip. Before you remove the bladder, run a permanent marker pen around a horizontal bar at the height you want to cut the bladder. Will give you a perfect line to cut along.
We love the totes for firewood, it has significantly reduced the amount we need to handle the wood and transporting the totes with the forks on the tractor is so easy.
Hey Andy, that’s good to hear!! My aching back is begging for less firewood handling, I’m happy to hear you like them!! I am going to add more to the inventory over the next few months. Thanks for sharing your experience!
If you mentioned it in the video, I must have missed it, but any idea of the total weight of the tote+firewood ? I do not have a tractor, but am contemplating getting a fork-lift accessory for my ATV. It's rated for 500 lbs., but I suspect we're talking about a lot more weight than that.
Great question…I should have mentioned. We strive for 16”, our boiler can be stacked in 2 rows as well at that length. I eyeball 16” and dang I mess up a lot, must be an age thing (& stubborn thing). My son-in-law measures and he is very accurate. I sometimes curse a bit (at myself) when I am loading the boiler ;-)

Nice. Good idea for the tote, thanks for sharing.
You bet Jules! They have been a big help with moving wood around the property and I thought others may benefit. Cheers!!

There is much more storage space in each tote this way! Are you going to modify the other totes you made so that they look like this?
Absolutely, waiting for a little help from my friends! Hehe
Good idea. How long are you cutting your wood in order to get two rows in the totes?
