Thank God for footage such this. Dad was in the Signal Corps with the Fifth Army Air Force in New Guinea. I am AVIDLY interested in WWII. He never talks about his experience. So it has to be through films such as this one that I am gaining more knowledge of WWII than I ever dreamed possible. Thank you so very much for posting this film!!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

What a treat! Sometime around the end of Dec. 1944 I was a student in gunnery school at Buckingham Army Air Field at Ft Myers, Fla., and was shown Ramrod to Emden as part of our training. Ended up as the gunner on a P-61 Black Widow Nightfighter in the Pacific and at age 87 still remember the short film.

But the pleasure shots do not show Emden. Something is wrong here.

One would think there would be drop tanks and not bombs for an escort mission.

@Scharfschutzen1 No mate referring to you guys , my great uncle rodger was sunk in the atlantic by a uboat the investigated 2 days later in their raft by a fw200 condor it circled then preceded to strafe 4 liferafts full of defenceless, burned and halfdrowned men. By all accounts and I've talked to other old gentlemen who were in the raft with him it only lasted about 10 mins but they'd lost 12 men to machinegun fire , we all have ugly pasts mate the trick is not denying it

@Scharfschutzen1 same place as all the footage of similar acts on british territory or maybe its being held in the same place as the films showing english seamen being machinegunned in their rafts after being sunk :)

I can’t get enough of watching Germans and Japanese planes Go down in flames. They were our enemy and they were the enemy of all civilization. There is no moral equivalence here.
