    A really spiritual person who loves Allah never over-eats. Prophet Muhammad ate very little as I know. If your spiritual level grow up, you can endure hunger with ease because your mind is clear and strong with Allah. Of course, we do not need to starve, just eat enough. Do not over-eat. That is why we are allowed to eat one meal every day during Ramadan. It is not hard at all. Too much eating will waste energy for digesting food which leads us down rather than going up to the heart and brain to contemplate on Allah.
