      That last fight, I don't think a missile was needed. That Flanker looked it was going to scrape the ground before it recovered enough air speed to be actually flying again.

      @@artemvektor1 No the pilot had no clue, there was a lot of smoke on that side of the airframe so the pilot couldn't see, from their perspective the plane was just really heavy on one side

      @Fred Garvin agree especially aesthetically. I know that western planes tend to have some advantages especially with electronic systems, but the Russian planes I always thought were the best looking planes.
      They look the way you expect combat airplanes to look.

      @@stoog7487 not in a dogfight it won't. Su-30 has superior manoeuvrability than F-22. In BVR F-22 would obliterate any aircraft but there are better for bvr and not dogfight,

    with the thrust vectoring, this type of dogfighting reminds me a lot of the WW1 bi-plane dogfights...its almost a ballet in the sky...fighters capable of supercruise, dancing in the air at speeds that other aircraft would simply fall from the sky if they were to go that slow...cool vid!

      @@russellcooper2195 personally I wouldn't fly anything against an F22...lol...but should the unlikely happen, it would be sort of beautiful to see these two dance in the sky...anyone that knows anything about the capability of the F22 knows that the SU-30SM would be blown from the sky before it even realizes that an F22 was nearby...

      @@rxmclaren7 I'd say RoE might cause a situation where an American stealth fighter like the F-22 finds itself up against a Chinese flanker that suddenly decides to go hostile during a peacetime sortie. Don't put it past the Chinese to suddenly attack you when they think they have the advantage and then just as easily put the blame on you for starting the fight and sue for peace as a "responsible power". That is just what the Chinese do. Take it from an Indian.

    Yes, this is the fight that I wanted the most. Hope fully in the future there is a mod for the Su-30SM2 which is a Su-30SM with N035 radar and AL-41F-1S engine ( which are the Su-35's radar and engine) for another dogfight with the F-22. Gotta be a more intresting dogfight to see:)

      even after such mode with more power engines and radar, SU-35 should still be more effective in air-to-air superiority. The primary reason for Su-30sm upgrade to sm2 is different.

      @@beaclaster no... Aircraft behavior is a bit different. There is a CG somewhere near the center of the aircraft.. any force behind the CG acting downwards pushes the tail down, resulting in nose up.. and with high thrust, it moves the aircraft almost in the direction of the nose (upwards)

    Looking forward for su-30sm2. First batch has recently arrived in Russian navy aviation. Su 30 with su 35 engines and avions, while also having the control system from su-57. The last is particularly important, because it made airframe 20-25 % lighter than basic su-30sm, making its flight characteristics better.

      @@VoltageLPAFAIK tu22M are bombers for the naval aviation. Russian naval aircraft are not defined by landing on a carrier but on the role they are intended to perform.
      Similar to the German Naval Tornados in the 90s.

    The lesser pilot seemed to come out on top in this one, which I think makes it pretty clear that the F-22 is the stronger craft. No offense meant, but GS was clearly the better pilot by far in this engagement, but the other pilot was simply flying a better platform.

    Seriously... DCS would make an excellent e-Sport. Growling you and the gang should start a DCS league. You can have different era planes every week dogfighting each other, you can have fixed planes fights, BVR fights with same or different planes... Your channel alone is a statement on how varied a DCS league could be.

      It would be nice to see flight sims move out of the niche and more into the mainstream. Imagine what that would do for HOTAS setups and other controllers? More companies would join in creating more competition hopefully bringing prices down more. Sigh. Alas it won't ever happen.

    Is there any chance you could do an F-22 VS F-35 BVR fight? I know most of the capabilities in both these aircraft are highly classified, so it wouldnt be too accurate to real life, but it'd still be fun to see if the F-35 can actually take on an F-22 in BVR, seeing as the F-35 is technically more advanced

      Well, first and foremost, there is a reason why the F-22 is an air superiority fighter meaning that the F-22 can track a target farther than its adversary while an F-35 complements an F-22 with its sensor and ground targeting system. Therefore, in BVR, an F-22 is better by miles.

      I think I suggested that on the 22v35 dogfight, lots of people like to see them matched up for silly reasons but it might make a better fight BVR.

    I was very surprised to see the aerodynamic capabilities of the new sequoia su 30 mod up against the f22 raptor, however in part this was due to who was in the cockpit.
    An absolutely superb demonstration of the capabilities of this beautiful Russian fighter aircraft.

    I feel like if that was long shot it may have been a bit more lopsided but you did great against the raptor not that the aircraft you were in is a slouch by any means especially when in an up close dogfight where the maneuverability of both aircraft are exceptional

    SM is a much superior fighter in a dogfight. Thrust vectoring, forward canards and more wing per square meter. Exactly what the doctor ordered.

      Do you know there was a incident in russia 🇷🇺 where a Su 30 sm and Su 35 were on training and a dog fight started. The Su 35 shot down the Su 30 sm with guns in heat of the moment.

    BVR isn't as dominant as people think. With jamming, dodging, and just overall lack of a definite hit on the target makes it so that BVR isn't an immediate W. And in real life mock battles the F22 has been defeated by the eurofighter and Rafael in dog fights.

    Why those rockets don't have proximity fuses? It seems like in a lot of situations you had in the videos even with rocket missing a right timed explosion could damage the aircraft by blast and shrapnel.

    Sorry, OT question. But I'm really curious. What are the frame rails running the length of the canopy with the blue thing? From what I saw in a few photos of the plane, it looks like a shade of some kind. Nuke flash shield maybe? Throwing spitballs here since I wasn't able to find anything very specific in the way of a description. That is an incredibly cool variant of an incredibly cool bird, by the way.

    Sukhoi looks like a flying anvil compared to the F22. The thrust to weight ratio of the F22 is clearly a lot better than the Sukhoi. It just seems to flutter above the Sukhoi canopy with ease.

    The end of Round 4 deserves an award for cinematics. (Chef's Kiss!) The end of Round 5 was a maneuver kill IMO. If the Raptor didn't get you the big pine tree directly in front of your "Sabre Dance" was already going to make recovery impossible.       @@Mobius118 Yeah those are impressive missiles for sure. But it's the WATER-7 missiles that I really fear. They say it's like hitting a wall of concrete. And at night, you may not even know you are flying head on with a WATER-7, and you don't even see it coming!!!

    If the modder can make Su-30SM2 that would be interesting
    It uses AL-41F instead of AL-31 engine
    Some source stated it give Su-30 16% more thrust
    And off course... Ibris-E radar
    Instead of N-011 radar
