Alot of fans kept thinking and blaming jype for not doing enough for DAY6. Not promoting them well enough.
But their concept that is set right from the start is alr the best choice for them. DAY6 themselves want to be known for their raw talents. And it is the dream of every real band to be known based on their real talents, and not recognised only through widespread marketing tactics. This is why jype wanted DAY6 to be known more through word of mouth instead of bombarding the public with the common marketing for other idol groups.
Most importantly, if fans really follow their every schedule, it is not hard to actually tell how much efforts jype staff put in to make them happen for DAY6. They only attend radio shows and other programs which allow them to perform live. This is not easy because we all know that not all shows allow or can accommodate all their instruments. The staff made it happen for them, on many radio shows they were the first to be able to live perform with all instruments. And their efforts are paying off.
All the positive comments and reviews about them came about because they have all of these opportunities to show off their real talents. So jyp and jype do care about DAY6 just that as the first band of the company, they are approaching this in an even more cautious manner.
Thankful to JYP and all JYPE staff who have been putting in so much efforts to allow DAY6 to grow well as a real band:)
actually there's 2 things that I disappointed from JYPE. first, they didn't introduce them. I'm okay with their self-promotion, but how people will find about their activities if they didn't even know who Day6? second, they didn't say anything about their debut showcase. it's their debut showcase and they didn't even tweet about it. I feel like crying when Junhyeok wrote that he feels no one will come.
beside that, I'm glad they finally debut :)
Ermmm actually jype did introduce them since years ago. Maybe to international fans they may be abit foreign and not promoted well. But jype held tons of predebut live perfs and showcases for them at clubs and other events. I think since 2 to 3 years ago, they have been given chances to hone their live skills and to gain recognition amongst the locals. So technically they are known and already have fans before debut. So not that they are totally unknown and just got debuted like this. Plus they did talk about the debut showcase on day6 offical fb and twitter. And the links of which were posted on jype offical fb and twitter. Plus usually no company would allow the artistes to do spoilers for the album but the members all did it via own insta accounts, which is all part of the word of mouth tactic they are going with. And they did promote the boys to the media outlets too so media outlets cover about their debut.
I am not saying that everything jype did is the best or is right for them. But as the first boy band of the company, and jype always care alot about the attitudes of its artistes, i just think what they are doing now is to make sure DAY6 lay a solid foundation based on their talents. And some fans just can't accept that so it is abit harsh on the company n the staff working so hard for DAY6.
Plus we can tell the efforts are paying off with the boys getting such gd results on the charts with just their music:)
+Isabel Jung no, jype never officially introduce them to public. when they appeared on WIN they just come out as jyp trainees. even when they come out with an ost as 5Live, jype didn't say anything about who behind that name. and they just come out to public as Day6, 2 months before debut, they never come out to public as 5Live. but maybe I'm wrong, let me know if you know when and where they perform as 5Live (beside JYP trainee showcase).
and no, jyp really didn't say anything about their debut showcase, you can check their twitter. they just share members post from instagram after the showcase.
yes, they have fans before debut, fans that waited for 3 years. international fans aren't the only one who disappointed, korean fans too.
I don't hate JYPE, I just disappointed about that. and it's already happened, we can't change anything. I will just be happy as long as the boys happy :)
+Wafda Sajida No, JYP really introduced them. They had their first show (an opening one in somewhere I don't remember) as 5LIVE around the end of july/august of 2013 (can't remember either). And they've had other shows as 5LIVE (since Dowoon was added a few months before debut they didn't have that much shows).
When they appeared in WIN they weren't mentioned because it wasn't their show. And I don't exactly know when was it aired, but it was clearly the acoustic group of the trainees since the beginning.

It kinda sucks that music shows don't let bands play their instruments live but I'm glad to see Day6 getting so much love & support for their music. I'm usually not into bands but to see how they perform & how well they only relied on themselves to make the music happen is awesome. This right here is true & raw talent.

+Sayonara Jannell yeah, because with all of their equipment they have to set up & pack up is a big hassle to the music show producers because it's a live broadcast & every artists/group have a time slot of when they have to go next on stage to perform.
I mean Day6 can still perform on music shows but that would mean they couldn't play their instruments & would have to use the background music which is what JYPE didn't want for them so instead they Day6 promotes through clubs & outside events

I still miss their old days with Junhyuk and those times when they just do random busking sessions to promote their band. But look at them now, you've come this far my boys! ;_;

Its funny.. Honestly i discovered them since their debut with 'congratulation' and still follow them until 'letting go' era and i've watched this at that time and always think how underrated is this band for their capability.
But after that i become more buzy and forgot a little abt them, i only listen and recognize its day6 when my friend played their song (which it's me who introduce day6 to her before, a little story: that my friend doesn't into K-pop until I make her listen to day6 bcs she likes rock and day6 abt into it, after then she became a more update myday then me 😐) so i only thought 'oh now they have another comeback' but not rlly follow up their growth. And now in 2020 I listen to their other song that I missed and I REALLY REGRET THAT I MISSED THOSE ERA... Whatand why the hell did I do so i passed those masterpiece??? Until now I'm still full of regret and can't stop listen to day6 😂😂

@@mondaylite3873 me too. I know day6 from ig but i didn't listen to their songs. Then I start to listen to them since everyday6 bcs of that jyp games "superstar jyp". I downloaded it bcs of got7 but then i discovered day6 and that's it, i stopped, i was too busy hyping another idol. Now bcs of the quarantine i fell in love once again. The best thing that happen this year is that i become a myday :)

Dang this was hilariously and awesome in so many ways. JYP always put emphasis on character and you can see that. From Wonder Girls to our latest rookie Twice, they all have such lovable personalities. Let us continue to love all of JYP artist and wish them more success in the future.

I am rewatching these, and I didn't think I'd get emotional at all. But at 5:35 when I saw six people on stage, it hit me.
i got pretty emotional when all are members started crying BC they were all so touched by their fans but then I teared up when i saw them pick up the left over paper planes. That was so sweet of them to pick them all up, Day6 is so great.
JYP FINALLY DOING SOMETHING RIGHT..I WAS STARTED TO THINK JYP DIDNT REALLY CARE ABOUT MY BABIES.

Sketchbook is amongst the best platform we can have for them but it seldom invites rookies so maybe when they release more albums next time!:)

DAY6 is amazing! like honestly, I'm not saying that because i'm a JYP stan (obviously because like duh) but they're so talented and lovable, they work so hard. There music makes me feel a certain way and I really appreciate that. I hope to see them in the future but I know they ain't coming to Texas any time soon :/ and I'm not going to Korea soon either hahaha.
