There are so many 9mm handguns out there...the decision can be downright impossible especially if you are like me and enjoy so many different guns. This was a hard decision, but hopefully you good people will agree with our choices.

Iraqveteran8888 what do you consider an early import model for the CZ? If I was to purchase the CZ 75 SP 01 would that be considered early import? Thank you!
Thank you Eric,
Would like your opinion as a fellow Georgian, have a CZ75BD with 10 round Mags, slightly used, I can pick up for $399.00. Never have owned a CZ so would appreciate your professional opinion.
Thank you
Iraqveteran8888 I love this channel, y’all are professional and very knowledgeable. Much love n respect. R.I.P. Barry.
U should do top 5 40 s&w handguns
What happened to Barry?
R.I.P Barry still missing you brother
Same.
Same.
Darius Jones just come across this video, how did he die, he seems a nice dude
vinny hallabou Health issues.
Shop has not been the same since Barry died.
Im watching this in December 2020 during the corona pandemic and the top 5 9mm handguns are whatever the hell you can find.
😂😂😂😂 true
My local gun store has a wide variety. Just got a cz75 clone from SAR for 300 even. It felt amazing in my hands and the sights were awesome. Plus 17rnd mag. Plus everyone has a Glock. I could've afforded one they just bore me
Just bought a Springfield XD 9, it's a great weapon.
My LGS has a ton of choices. I just bought 4 guns this week. It must be rural, small shops that can’t get anything
@@mattwicked6882 bought a xds 9 too
I just got a S&W SD9VE a couple months ago and i couldn't be more satisfied with it. For the price, it's a fantastic gun.
I just got a SD9. Which the only difference is the slide on yours. I hate the trigger. I’m replacing it. You find it to be ok? I’m used to a Glock 17. Just curious on your opinion
@@finestnedmark the SD9 is a gun for see defense hence the “SD”. That’s why the trigger pull sucks so bad. Your not accidentally going to shoot it, when you pull the trigger.. you mean to. It’s a nice looking gun and they’re pretty cheap but the trigger pull is the most of any gun that I’m aware of. May be great for some, not for myself.
Yeah, I grabbed one myself and it hasn’t disappointed me yet. I put a laser flashlight combo on it.. definitely helps balance the kick.
The trigger sucks
I must have been at the right place at the right time....got one of the sd9ve at Cabela's for $179. Best bargain I ever had.
Wow this video brings me way back... Broke my heart when old man passed. These guys taught me so much about everything firearms, ammo, and more.
Oh no. When did he pass?
Miss that guy!

As much as we miss Barry I think Eric deserves alot of credit for keeping the channel up and running and kicking ass
Absolutely!!
I agree Barry is cool I loved his video with Jerry Miculek and that smith and Wesson m and p 26 rd on how to control recoil and shoot faster
Here in Cali pretty soon it soon it will be just a sling shot allowed with biodegradable projector of course.
sfv6 oh u got s rubber band on your slingshot? Sir come with me
🤦🏻♂️ Hey at least you don’t live in NYC where you can become a felon for carrying a Swiss Army knife on your keychain.
It ain't too bad out here. Although everything costs like $100 more at least.
In Jersey slingshots aren't even allowed.
sfv6 there's is life or death in the tongue. Will eat the fruit of what you speak. I'm in NY and I say that NY will change for the better for gun rights
Barry! So cool to be able to go back and see these old videos with him. He may be gone but he still has this legacy.
I miss Barry.
Such a great dude.
+MindMeme turn yourself into him, my long bearded fiend
flappy188 If only. We can all only aspire to that level of dude-itude. The beard alone is a triumph many will never achieve.
+MindMeme I see myself being like Barry in 30 years.
+David Son me too
+MindMeme What happend to him, did he leave the channel or pass away?
No secret that you chose the CZ 75. I've seen you shoot one, you rocked it! Have a great week guys!
The only thing wrong with my CZ75 is that there is nothing I can do to it to make it any better.
Love cz! I have a number of friends that were glock or springfield people, never heard of cz until they shot mine and now they own one and it's their favorite to shoot
@Yuvi A I'll check it out.
I own a 75B and have had nothing but issues with it. Trigger reset springs breaking, firing pin roll pin breaking, etc. I really hope I just have a dud but it killed the CZ for me.
@Hans Stein I would, but at this point I have replaced and fixed so much myself that it would likely void warranty. That is fine though, as it was a carry pistol for the longest time but I am looking into a new carry option anyways and will just keep this as a semi-functional collectors piece more than anything. Still love the history and look of the gun, but I won't likely ever conceal carry a CZ again if only based on my personal experiences with their products. Probably will just buy a G19 or a P228 instead.
7 years later I'm watching this. RIP Barry
Same
It actually 6 years, until December its 7 years
New to this channel... What happened to barry? Is he the old one or the young one?
Ken Davis “way cool”?
6 years*
Look at all the ammo on the shelves
For real. These guys are well stocked. I see a nice selection of rifles and optics too!
I bought my first handgun last week. It was the S&W SD9 VE.
I got it with two 16 round mags for $350 after taxes. It feels nice in my hands and I can’t wait to shoot it
I miss you Barry. I can't ever watch a IV8888 video without seeing your ghost in it. Your genuine commentary and personality were on a whole other level.
Look at them stocked shelves!
I remember always waiting and looking forward to each video from you guys. Just started watching and it took me a while to remember that Barry is no longer with us. Felt just like old times. . . Sure do miss you friend.
Who's watching this three years after it was made?
still relevant though
ThePhantom710 same haha
ThePhantom710 me looking for a nice pistol to carry just in case a clown wants to fuck with me
S/W shield is best for cc. Other guns are too big for cc. I have no use for bigger guns. I have glock 42 and Springfield xds 9mm. love them
I did! And I liked it!
I love my CZ75 P-01
Shoots so much better than my Kahr CW9 or Glock19.
It may be old school, but Browning Hi-Power is one of the sweetest 9 mm I've ever fired.
Completely agree. My Belgian HiPower is the sweetest shooting 9mm I have. It just naturally points and feels great in my hand.
Agree with you sir. Now that’s a good 9mm handgun. Love that gun.
Yup
Good luck finding one
@Oliver Pong Is Terry Tussey still around? I heard he had past away a few years ago.
lol 3 years later? how bout 6 lol
lol, s&w sd9ve is my first gun this year. Good to know I made a good first choice for 250$.
I’m stuck between a .45/38 super 1911 or a 9mm glock for my first handgun, any input??
@@codeinecowboy8607 Is it going to be for concealed carry?
Psh how about 7. Not on my worst day pal.
Codeine Cowboy first handgun I’d go with the 9mm glock. I’m no glock fanboy but the 1911 style handguns are a lot trickier to field strip to clean and are not as well rounded for every category that a glock style weapon would be. A .45 wouldn’t be a bad idea if you got it in a style other than 1911. .38 super is a no go for your first. My father has a 1911 chambered in .38 Super and it’s a beast of a pistol, definitely wouldn’t recommend
Who's watching 6 years later
Me!
Me too!
Heck it’s 7 now.

I am!!!!!
Any discussion of must have 9mm handguns must include a Sig P226. It is a better quality gun than any of those you are featuring.
Hunter Jordan Yes, I have had the P226 in 9mm for over two years and have easily put 3000 rounds through it. It has only failed once, and that was a dud round. It was struck solidly but did not fire. Sig is known the world over as a high quality firearm and for it not to have been included in this group had to have been an oversight or they just smoked some really good shit that day.
Hey Brad have you shot the Sig SP2022 9mm? I'm loving this thing with no failures so far
a 1k pistol?
***** Ruger SR9 is without a doubt a good quality weapon. These guys left out some of the best in the world in this little video.
Lol go ahead and blow 900 plus dollars. I'd take a cz75 over a glock, sig, or smith.
You know its 2020 now and i still come back and watch these old video just cause i miss seeing barry
Rip barry
MAN IM LATE RIP BARRY HE SOLD ME MY DARCO & GLOCK 26 WHEN I WAS LIVING ON TARA BLVD.
Draco 🙏🏻
Whoa! I stumbled on this video and was like, 'Holy crap that's Iraqveteran8888!!'. Still loving your content all these years later.
I bought a S&W 9 VE 3 days ago at my local gun store for $312.00 with tax.
Thanks guys! You helped me make my mind up. I have been looking and was seeking different opinions on hadguns. I was thinking the sd9ve was probably right for me and you confirmed it.
It's not over priced yet seems to be a quality handgun for a first time buyer.
Love the SD9VE and the SW40GVE! Did some custom work to my GVE and it's nice. The SD9 shoots like a dream used with no work. I used to own a third SW40VE but sold it back for a profit. They are almost as good as Glocks, and just as reliable. I got all of mine used for under $175 (the SW40VE I got for 125.)
I’ve had the SD9VE for years, shot close to 1000 rounds with one jam the whole time. Had to switch to the apex trigger, and put some night sights on there, but it’s such a good gun
My list:
Glock 19
Beretta 92/M9
Sig P226
CZ75
Shield
Jason Hatherlee get the full size m&p9
XxPurpleXHazeX Too late, but thanks.
***** beretta's are junk
justin childress you're 14 years old with zero experience with firearms.
27 and shoot in local IDPA matches try again Jason Hatherlee
My dad bought a p95 in 1998, never ever fired it a single time, fast forward to last week (May 2020), we took it to the range for the first time and it ate 100 rounds with no issues. We never even oiled it
My dad owned several firearms. He let me use his P95 to go target shooting with him. This was back in 1997 . It was a nice handgun. He passed away in 1999 but I don't know what happened to it
M and P Shield is not only sized for easy edc, it is surprisingly accurate. Good video. Good to see Mr. Barry once again.
Saw Barry as I was scrolling and decided I had to watch this again! National treasure
its weird not seeing berry in any new vids we all miss you berry RIP.
"If you see the video 3 yeas from when it was made" Darn.
fuck yes ! from canada!
Lol, Hey still holds true though. Actually the SD9ve is $200 cheaper than the gen 4 glock 19
Gen 4 blocks are barely getting introduced so prices are like __----^^^^^^^^^
lol still here
Same! Haha
When I am off, and the weather is bad outside I like to watch the older IV8888 vids with Barry. Miss his humor and insight
Man, I really miss Barry... He was just too damn cool for school! :)
Beretta should definitely be on this list
+Joseph Duenas I'm surprised a 92 wasn't mentioned. Great gun.
lots of people like them and lots of people don't I personally don't like it at all
+Joseph Duenas The same standard issued Berettas some servicemen opt out when overseas? Thank you, but no thank you.
i was expecting it the whole time?
Maybe cost disqualified it? I don't know how they stack up against the ones they discussed, money wise.
Having owned the Glock 17 and 19 for many years now, I have to say I much prefer my 19, and I have huge hands. For some reason, it simply "falls in place" better than my 17, points and feels more natural than my 17. That being said, I still love the 17 and think it is one of the best 9mm pistols ever made.
Thanks guys! You all helping me with my Christmas shopping.
No order
Sig P226
CZ-75 variant
Glock 19 or 17
Beretta 92FS or M9
S&W M&P
this right here
Exactly these fucks don’t know nothing about true reliable 9’s
the SW 639/ 659 & 5906/5946 i wish were still produced
replace the S&W M&P with HK USP 9 and the list is perfect
Replace m&p with a p7
I miss Barry. He's the reason I started watching this channel but I like Eric and Chad too.
I miss Barry . Its not the same with two guys in the same age range.
What happened to Mr. Barry. I been out at sea.
@@TheTV4me2 im gonna assume he passed away
TheTV4me2 Heart attack. I think ep 85 is the one breaking the news
Gone but not forgotten. RIP Barry.
I have to be honest I have a lot of respect in the background of this video that you guys have a bunch a true glow products instead of trying to market with only expensive optics you pander to those of us that can only afford a reasonably priced and good quality affordable red dot!!!! Thank you!!! Now thats a gun store I would go to!!!
6 years after this comes out and I am just now watching this video! Great choices!
RIP Barry, you truly were a font of wisdom for many beginning gun owners.
Is Barry the older gentlemen in the video? I don’t know their names
@@outdoorsanimalsandmusic3014 yes.
@@dagoblin994 ah ok. That sucks
My dad got me the SD9VE for my 21st birthday last year.
I fucking love it.
+bestest87 your commie ass would get a 9mm.
Any problems with it since day 1?
Juan Roman Nope!
I did put a steel guide rod in it with a stock weight spring. It helps a bit with recoil, which wasn't much to start with.
+bestest87 where did you get the steel spring?
George Bautista Amazon haha. Look for the one from Galloway Precision.
Watching this in December of 21 and wow it’s amazing how much has changed in 8 years
Dude this was a great video! Great choices! Keep it up guys!
Really miss Barry. He was full of wisdom.
happy to see the cz(variant). I love my cz 75 probably the best 9mm I own.
be great to see this updated
First things first my friend, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE! It means more than you know. Secondly, all your videos are great and informative. I've made decisions on firearms purchases based off of your videos. Keep them coming!
Watching this video december 7 2019 just around the holidays
have to agree the cz is one smooth gun. i dont know much about guns in fact i just went shooting for the first time today. but after shooting a 9mm shield, a glock 43 and 19, a Walter pps back to back, then at the end a cz p07. the cz was just so effortless I wasn't expecting it. it's almost like the cadillac.
Good list. I have the shield, the SD9VE, and the Ruger p95
Do you like that SD9VE? Is it worth it?
would love to see an updated version of this maybe some ideas on Springfield & Baretta APX & Shield 2.0 ... H&K..CZ.... Sig of course...(:
I sure wish I could get Barry’s reaction to these new high capacity micros like the p365 and hellcat.
Yes, I wish Barry was around. He was a fountain of very good information. Rest in peace my friend.
The Beretta M9 should have at least been number 5.
Another great video! Reading through the comments, I see Barry passed away. My condolences. I've watched a few of your videos and had been meaning to make the 5 hour round trip drive. I'm sad I missed my window. Hope all is well. Hope y'all are doing well during these strange times!
Walther CCP (M2 version) is my favorite 9mm. Extremely comfortable in the hand and shoot, slim, single-stack profile to carry concealed, and accurate.
RIP OLD MAN WITH BEARD
+Jose Lopez He wasn't old. Grey beard will do that to people.
+Jose Lopez is he dead? :O
+Ezio210 yep passed away I think it was a heart attack
762x39warrior Thats sad, rest in peace.
+Ezio210 he passed away on 4/12/2014
Smith and Wesson shields r pretty good guns
This popped up on my feed and even though I have watched it before I just wanted to see Barry do a review. RIP. Still missed.
These days the Canik TP9SFX deserves a place on this list. 20+1 capacity, red dot ready, factory offers suppressor sights, threaded barrel, different slide catches, mag releases, back straps, and recoil spring weights. Great gun, reliable, and extremely accurate.
Barry, You are sorely missed. You told us your honest opinion about guns. Very rare these days! Most people are being used by the gun companies as a spokesman. I don't know what happened to you. But no one can take your place. RIP Barry. May our Flag wave always above our country. They will never take our guns from us. Amen. Shawn
Im 99% sure he died of a heart attack, just getting older it happens. RIP to a legend.
I know this video is three years old but I used the info to buy the S & W 9mm Shield. Thanks Eric. You too Barry in Heaven.
+John Chetcuti me too. little thing is flippin awesome!
My Browning Hi-Power Mk. III still works for me.
Cool work guys
I really wish Ruger hadn't discontinued the P95 :/
Even against the more modern SR series, the P95 was the perfect budget semi-auto pistol.
I hear ya but those sr's are great. I'm going to be getting a sr9 soon after research and so on.
SRs are indeed good pistols, and they are better and more advanced in terms of hardware than the P95 ever has been, but...hey, people still buy 1911s for $1000+, they should be able to buy a regular DA/SA hammer-fired pistol for $300. Though the new 9E looks to be good.
oh i agree
There's plenty for sale on Gunbroker. Go getcha one,
I like that site
God bless barry may he rest with the father now
+krombopulous michael no such thing as god, keep you tube secular!!!!! fuck all religions, especially christianity. wake up, & ditch the fairy tales. if not, don't spread your shit here.
jdbankshot that comment wasn't about me was it?
krombopulous michael yes it was, & for every idiot that mentions god or jesus on you tube. i like barry as well, sucks that he died, but the biggest cancer on earth is religion & the brainwashed sheep that buy into all that crap. the worst of the bunch is those psycho creationists from the u.s. who believe the earth is only 6,000 years old. you could've easily just written, "R.I.P. Barry", but no, you had to spread that christian pollution.
jdbankshot first off, I'm a jew. second off the statement "may he rest with the father now" is not specific to one religion, It could be taken well to muslims, Christians, jews, Mormons, you name it. and if you were really a good atheist, you would not mind whatever someone believes, because what they believe makes them happy, just like I'm sure you believe gay people have a right to be married, there is no room for hypocrites, be accepting to all.
+krombopulous michael are you a convert, because your name sure sounds like greek orthodox....but, it doesn't matter, all religion is evil garbage. i'm no hypocrite, & i refuse to accept insanity as normalcy. any human that believes in any higher power is a psycho, but if they believe in silence, it doesn't bother anyone. what bothers me is people announcing their belief in god in a public way. there is no "the father", but if you want to buy into those bullshit fairy tales, keep it your fucking self, especially on you tube. also, if you're really a good jew, you'd take every opportunity to denounce zionism, netanyahu, & the illegal state of israel & it's barbaric military.
My first gun was a Ruger P95. Was rated, as you said, the most accurate out of the box polymer framed handgun during its time. I had problems with shooting cheap ammo and it would stove pipe the shell, but other than that, great firearm.
Glad to see the sd9ve on here, otherwise I wouldn't believe these are the 5 best without that model included
Well, it is 2016, so I guess we hit the three year mark right now~
Joshua Nelsen a
Watched this video in hoping of finding which hand gun to buy as my first ever. Well CZ welcome home
I've had my p95 for a few years now an I absolutely love it...I also haven't come across any type of ammo that will jam in it either
Haven’t watched yet! But, My list would include these manufacturers:
1) Sig
2) Glock
3) CZ
4) Beretta
5) Smith & Wesson
👌
Sig lol
@@The-Homecook-0000 glock lol
I'm surprised the Springfield XDM 9MM wasn't up there. Damn good gun and for a decent price too.
xdm and xd line in general is junk that's why
+Bryson Wilkinson
Been carrying the Springfield XDS .45 every day for a year and a half. I shoot it weekly and it's reliable as hell.
Maybe yours was junk. Or perhaps operator error.
itscork Love that little gun, very compact but with a nice forceful caliber!
Just got the xds 9mm bitone 3 days ago. Beautiful design. Easy to cc.
Bryson Wilkinson Haha okay
Whoa....
That CZ shark may easily be one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a while. Sleek.
Suh-leeeeeek!!
I never get tired of this Chanel
March 2022 still enjoy your older videos
I'm glad they gave the CZ 75 some love. I've shot them all, and the CZ was BY FAR the most comfortable gun to shoot. Very low bore axis, smooth operation and very accurate right of the box.
Agree 110% the issue is that many folks want polymer today...and many are brain washed by Glock...XD...MnP ...
Watching 10 years later😂
Had to visit from future... miss Barry. Nice to see younger Eric too!!
SD9ve is a great reliable gun. One of my favorite firearms.
My personal favourite is the Beretta 92FS (M9 as known by americans I believe)
Joel Salminen , M9 and 92FS are almost identicle but different
Yes sir it is
Damn I miss Barry...
Just purchased a shield today, was actually looking for the sd9ve but this gun will do
Just bought the the SD9 with the black slide tridium sights. 379.00 academy sports. Looking forward to shooting it.
where is the Walther PPQ?????
Kaibil Balam true
This is beyond ironic, I turn 21 in 3 days and am looking to purchase my first handgun. I've been looking at the SD9VE and Eric says "if you're watching this 3 years from the date this video was made prices might change" and today is exactly 3 years.
Devonn Peters I'm watching it as well and I'm in market for CZ75
i bought one on blk friday!
I looked at the date when he said that too lol
Devonn Peters crazy ain't it RIP Barry
SDVE9 is a great first gun. Bought mine for under $300 brand new! Love it! I agree with the trigger kit. It's a little stiff. Otherwise it's a perfect first gun!
Nice selection gentlemen
8 years later and still relevant
What about the Springfield xd9?
Wow i want that smith and Wesson SD9 now thanks fellas for the insight.
I've had one for a while and the trigger is a smidgen heavy but it is utterly reliable and it replaced my glock 17 for a carry
I’m thinking of getting the s&w sd9 ve for my first gun
I own a ruger ec9s. Accurate, reliable and conceals comfortably well. I added a hogue grip sleeve, 2 magguts kits for 2 magazines making them 8+1, and glow on sight paint on the sights. This gives you a comfortable grip, more rounds and the capability to shoot at night if you "charge" your sights with a flashlight. Greatly enhances the effectiveness and versatility of this firearm. Paired with underwood extreme defender ammunition and a clinger comfort cling holster it is a very capable combination for self defense.
don't really need to own 5, I think 2 is good enough, but it's hard to stop buying 9mm handguns. LOL
Insanely hard
Its hard to stop buying guns period! lol
Kamikaze Krunch the way I look at it, whether spend my $ on firearms then crack! Or maybe firearms is my crack?
John Dominy that's so true... I told my self after buying the M92 pap I was not buying any other guns ever... a glock 29 and xd mod 2 later I'm still saying I'm not buying anything else lol..
Kamikaze Krunch there is no such thing as too many handguns!
Since it’s already 2019, what’s your new top 5 9mm to own?
You only need one. S&W M2 0
43x as of now
M9A3 all day
Cz75
SIG P365 and H&K USP.
I like when Old IV8888 videos with Barry, pop up in my feed.
I just recently purchased a used sigama sw 9 for 290 I’m in love with it the trigger is not all that great but other than that I love it. You have any suggestions on a tigger coil that could help with that?
