A very strange story, an anonymous letter accusing the surgeon? I have been working in the health system for more than 40 years and yes, before every surgery, young or old, you could die of cardiac arrest. If you blame the health system for this, tell me why a young man very fit, in his thirties running many marathons died of cardiac arrest during or after the run? I have known more than one case. I don’t say that the surgeon at RVH is not responsible but people should wait before accusing a person, without knowing the fact.
I'm sorry this happened to these people, it's extremely sad. Almost three years ago my son went to an emergency ward because he wasn't feeling well. I called the nursing station numerous times and was told to stop calling and that he would be fine. I got a call the next day saying he'd passed. The only answer I got from the Coroner was that his heart had stopped. I'll never have closure, it makes no sense to me. No drugs, not even alcohol in his system.

But most important lots of people prayed for me. and I was showed in a dream twice 2 months before that the fibroid was gone which was a sign that I would be ok. My surgeon said I was a miracle case and a speedy recovery. All praises to my God Jesus Christ!
I knew a woman whose healthy daughter went in for a jaw surgery. She was left alone in recovery room, fell out of bed being disoriented from anesthesia, developed a blood clot and died.
The people are negligent. I went to the hospital because I was having pain and I was pregnant. The nurse in the emergency did not believe that I was having an emergency even though my pain got worse. After seeing four different nurses who all said to go back to the waiting room, the doctor who finally saw me was shocked when he gave me an ultrasound scan. I had been internally bleeding for 14 hours due to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. The surgeon said you either the surgery to remove it or you die. So much suffering is happening at the hands of people who have no conscience.
It is likely unfortunately. Canada's health system is far from caring for visible minorities, based on the deaths and mismanagement of critical issues.

Negligence is unfortunately very common in the healthcare sector right now in Montreal. There’s a lot of incompetent doctors, specialists and nurses. My brother was taken into the emergency after being a victim of a hit and run (broke his leg), the nurse was incapable of finding his veins to draw blood, she ended up poking him in several places of the arm until she found a vein. Also, another thing that I’ve noticed with the hospitals here is after doing a surgery, they always state that they will follow up for a post-op and they rarely do, I end up being the one chasing after them😒
There's many comments based in people's assumptions. If something like this happens, the first thing the patient or family should do is get a copy of the operation report (protocole opératoire), which is the suegeon's written account of what they did and how the operation went. These are normally dictated and made available to patients upon request at the medical records office 30 days after the operation. If there's none, or if it is refused, the ask the surgeon, and go from there, with an independent review. Rarely, malpractice occurs. But sometimes even a perfectly done operation can create an unexpected complication. In an operating room, there are several professionals working together and they all have a duty to protect the patient; not their colleague's reputation.
The first article I read about this case did mentioned that everybody's notes were different. There IS a cover up going on. The hospital is not even sure if the anesthesiologist was present or not for the whole procedure.
@ElleNeNe I'm not saying that there isn't a coverup. What I'm saying is that there's a way for patients to go about getting answers and it starts with the medical records. It can, as you suggest, reveal inconsistencies and contradictions, which will better enable a patient to understand what happened. Many times patients have a bad post-op recovery and assume something wrong was done. Other times, they haven't been told everything or the doctor has made a mistake (as I've noted in my own experiences). But even then, every mistake is not negligence or does it cause harm, but it is obviously not the case here.
I had a prominent reproductive endocrinologist in Toronto botch a saline sonohistogram and induce a pregnancy on a weak C-section scar without my consent. My records were requested over half a dozen times. He has a policy of requiring him to initial every single page for release before his staff is permitted to release and he simply didn't. My requests were blown off. We paid to have our embryos moved from his clinic and he still did not release them. I sued him and got partial records from his lawyers, but what happened during the embryo transfer, when he saw the thin scar and transferred anyway, is not recorded anywhere. He probably removed it from the clinic and destroyed it. Very slim chance he will face real consequences, he has sat on CPSO boards. Maybe I will be lucky and my judge will be an IVF patient. We will see. My son was needlessly exposed to risk of uterine rupture because of the record hording, which could have killed him and the obstetric violence, where my repeated expressions of concerns were strategically blown off, left me with PTSD.

This is such a routine surgery...i had it last year. It's a quck surgery too (depending how many you need to remove). I hope the husband continues to investigate, something went very wrong!
How convenient for the husband, trying to get some money from the death wife. Death can happens when you go into surgery that's why they make you sign several agreements. But, it is so easy to try to convince others that you are affected , and the victim and you want to be compensated with money. Disgusting.
What ppl dont understand is since 2020 demic, the health industry changed laws, any patient w/o their knowledge. Everyone over 45 yr is now DNR when admitted to the Hospital. Family members must provide a Judgement from a court to perform health treatments.
Wow are you not ashamed to speak lies about DNR at 45yrs. Do you know what you are talking about?. No one forces DNR on anyone. It has always been the choice of the patient or the POA. We have 100 gear old patient ts who are full code, we have palliative patients who are full code even though nothing can be done anymore because it is their wish. WOW, the way people lie when they know nothing is beyond me
Hmmm. As a woman who has had fibroids removed laproscopically in my mid 40's with no issue, something in this case indeed sounds amiss. A healthy 30 something year old women who was cleared PRIOR for a routine procedure dies? Of a heart attack? Somebody better get a hold of those telemetry records that shows normal sinus rhythm prior to the procedure. Sounds like something is off in anesthesiology......
Yes thats negligence. 33 is very young. Never let the coroner aware is suspect because once there is an unexpected death. Its a must the coroner takes over.
Out best Canadian educated and trained health care professionals go work in America for higher pay and better cost of living and we replace them with ones trained in third world or developing nations.
The Canada Medical Protective Association makes it almost impossible to sue doctors. I am sure that is attracting the best and the brightest to Canada, that along with the low pay, the moral injury from the long wait times.
Usually fibroids don't need nescesarily be removed it depends. Fibroids are normal when you age and usually they are not dangerous. Arogant surgeon I would assume not to stop surgery when its kind of mandatory.

🙏🙏🙏for her husband and loved ones🙏🙏🙏
THESE DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS ARE OU5 OF CONTROL.
Medical negligence.
Where did you read this???
Misinformation, deliberately posted.
WOW, the way people lie when they know nothing is beyond me
Horrific. Criminal.
Negligence!!!!
O my god
The court finds in favor of [the plaintiff] and funds must also be allocated to the deceased's family. 👍.
They should sue for 5 millions
Yah is watching and He is who
individuals should be concerned of and about, because one day they will have to answer to Him;

Oh no 😟 god bless this family.

True on the first part of your sentence but do you know the surgeon and team who worked on the deceased?
The Canada Medical Protective Association makes it almost impossible to sue doctors. I am sure that is attracting the best and the brightest to Canada, that along with the low pay, the moral injury from the long wait times.
Really, what are 2:51 racist you are. I am a nurse in Canada stop the nonsense talk
Usually fibroids don't need nescesarily be removed it depends. Fibroids are normal when you age and usually they are not dangerous. Arogant surgeon I would assume not to stop surgery when its kind of mandatory.
My condolences to you and the family. Unfortunately there’s no such thing as a routine surgery, always a risk in surgeries. I’m not a professional just common knowledge unfortunately. Sorry for your loss!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Actually, the risk associated to a surgery is predictable
It’s a risk specific to a certain surgeries
I don't want a DEI hire operating on me. Finish school properly.
It seems like there might be an attitude problem with the people there that should and do know better.
Omg
😢
I had a hysterectomy about 20 years ago at the Old Royal Vic Women's Pavillion by an Indian Dr....it went well
People you all have to put your trust in Yah at all times, especially when it comes to your health;
🙏
All surgeries have risks.
Could be a reason of anesthesia, either overdose or underdose
All the surgeon cared about was his paycheck
Divestor .
Sad, sad, shouldn't have to be
the outcome;
Have the family contact psychic medium Matt Fraser. He can speak to her soul directly to determine exactly what happened.
Hmm, expecting that its a blood clot from birth control etc
I don’t act like GOD I speak for GOD a Spirit in the flesh none of you know
Holier than thou William? you need to REPENT because pride is a sin.
I can’t accept the pride of the world it’s not by GOD the Father and I One
GOD created man in his own image in the image of GOD created he him One man I Am
