Why these girls dont get more recognition is beyond me. They are a total blast for every1 that sees them live, yet the fucked up music industry cant pick up on that. Are they from the wrong country? Oh i forgot, all we are supposed to hear is rnb, rap and.......Justin Bieber. They are even likable and humble ffs!!!! I am 100% sure that everyone who attented this concert walked away with a smile, whether it was their kind of music or not.
Its because they don't have one style. They have such a wide variety in their songs people typically like bands because of their one type of style but they can't be put in a box.

I watch every interview video I can find. I've come to the conclusion that they're the best band since Motorhead or Pink Floyd. And I've also come to the conclusion that Marianne leaving was the right call. In fact, I think they should have called it a day before Rockland. Nearly all the songs on Rockland sound like they should be on the solo album of the lead vocalist of that particular song. With the first two albums, they slipped into a retro world that had it's own look and feel with music that could be traced back to it's roots in the past. Not Rockland, it's a pop album. Don't get me wrong, there are some good moments on Rockland, but it's not LePop or A Kiss Before You Go. They lost their momentum. Even the live performances from after Rockland feel like the energy isn't as high as it was with the previous tours. I'm sad I missed them.

If I remember correctly, the third albums was mostly written by the band. Plus there 2015 live stuff on youtube really is not that good, that is its average for a bands live performance.
I'm aware. As I understand it for the first two albums, Mats Rybo wrote much of the chords and lyrics. Then they wrenched out the songs in an attic in Oslo. I don't think that lessens the girls contributions. The strength of the band is what the four members, plus a songwriter, brought to the table. They changed direction once Mats took less of a songwriting role. The songs became more like a collection of 4 different solo artists. I'd like to see more things from them like "A fairy tale of New York", or more songs where they sing in their native language. That feels like a more true evolution for them, rather than turn into a pop band. As far as their performances, the stages they played on after Rockland are too big. They're too far apart. And I cannot imagine the challenges of being a pregnant mother trying to tour. They really seemed to have more fun when they were closer together and tripping over instruments.

The Hamburg concert is the only live recording I know of that sounds excellent. Sad thing is, this is just digitally compressed, it's not even the fault of the recorder.
To be fair, it can't be an easy band to mix. Different person on every instrument, on nearly every song. And this recording is obviously straight from the desk without any post-production.
